So enlighting ... Buddhism may sound so Simple yet it is hardest thing for any of ordinary people to follow whole heartedly ....and this is about the Karma that we had in our previous life or in our early life time doings or deeds ...like if you had did great karma or good deeds previously or in the early stage of our life will determine our understanding or cabapilty to fully understand the complexity of this great comcept of Buddha .. But doesnt mean we shd stay away or ignore its complexity ...in times eveything will comes back and according to our deeds one can definately come over his or her obstacles and understand the Buddhas Teachings ... And you can obviously see how peoppe hv ignored this great holi Teachings of Buddha and many have just stoped beliving it in the middle of their process of transformation or gets lost .. Buddhism is infact the Holiest ...most deepest and most profound spiritual teachings ever we can find it .. yet it might sound kinda of Ego to many others faith .. And its obvious bcoz we all hv a genetic continuation from our ancestors and you walk or sound like your father or mother or grantparents as you start growing up isnt it...and right there when we study Buddhism you actaully trying to change these continuation and getting ourself better to a whole new level of spiritual transformation which ofcourse involves our genetics too ..and that is why i say its the most hardest thing to do or follow completely...but you try if you realy thing its worth ... THANK YOU HOLINESS
Tenzin D I agree with you that it’s the inner voice that motivate us to change, and we can’t ignore these voices anymore. It’s too overwhelming not to be heard. For the karma and attitudes that we will carry forward will make us fearful for our present time and when we try to change, our old habits keep popping up. Gosh, it’s a lot of word. Simple yet profound. That for your sharing and while it deepens my understanding as well
Here is another profound , simple, yet complex explanation of ideas and practices of Buddhism and why more people should believe in themselves and Karma than memorization of words. Practicing charity ,acts of kindness, teaching and living correctly with right view and right action are more effective in solving problems of suffering than memorizing and reciting words, whoever the words belong to. .Look within not without yourself and you will find the greatest love in your life, your purpose yourself, and your life's work and legacy you will leave behind .Actions speak louder than words but you can listen and learn from words then act and create a difference in yourself and the world.
ED H Hello, thanks for sharing your perspective. Yes, actions and results speak the loudest indeed and I believe that setting the correct motivation from the beginning is equally important as well. Please do visit His Eminence Tsem Rinpoche's personal blog for more inspiration: www.tsemrinpoche.com/ All the best to you, take care.
Tsem is a great teacher .I just watched Do it Now part 2 a couple days ago. That was a powerful video also. You can grow up a Christian like I did love Jesus and still believe and practice Buddhism even if you are not a monk or don't go to a temple .Ideas of faith and belief and practice are universal so there is no exclusion .Buddhism is practical, logical and causes solutions if you practice it just like charity work as a Christian. It is an bout correct motivation ,thinking ,and action ,compassion and inner peace and control of one's emotions and actions when practiced correctly to name a few of the ideas and practices of Buddhism. I am not a monk but that is the whole point. The ideas and practice can begin at anytime with anyone, anywhere to bring yourself a compassionate inner peace and positive action lifestyle.
Great timing for which the video popped in my recommendation box. Rinpoche speaks of how meditation helps with past life regression, my question is how does meditation help with future life progression? Which form of meditation is suggested? Thank you
logicaluser Generally, in Kechara we are given a set of practices to do and here you go www.tsemrinpoche.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/me/tsongkapas-daily-practice-video-commentary.html . There’s also another simple guided meditation here which is easy to do everyday www.tsemrinpoche.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/buddhas-dharma/orange-manjushri-a-meditation-by-the-5th-dalai-lama.html . However, there are some who would like to do a direct meditation which can be a silent meditation, whereby you commit a 5-10 mins of sitting down and blocking all other external thoughts. Just sit and block out. Do this consistently. To add to this, you should be aware of the sensation of the breath going through your nostrils. You don’t have to count but just be aware of the sensations
I love your teachings, but, may I point out that "Mongoloid" is an outdated term for a person with downs? It's quite insulting to both people from Mongolia, and people with downs syndrome.
Rinpoche, your sense of humor is unsurpassed in the realm of dharma speakers.
Thank you Rinpoche for this inspiring teaching
