I and a good friend used to produce large scale RC boats back in the early 90s 54"RW1, 59"RW2, and a 72"RWCat. 9/11 came and took us out of business.
This boat featured in your video looks awesome! The graphics and the self righting features is something I wish we could of provided with our offerings. Maybe I should pull out our old molds and modify them😊

Love the drone shot of the boat blasting towards the drone and the drone flying backwards. It looks like it has the power and stability to handle a higher pitch prop. This boat is porpoising in the water. You can never hit top speed with the bow bouncing all over like that. Some people claim to hit 65mph with some new lengthened trim tabs, different prop and tweaking the strut angle.

I have the 36-in version and it's fun to take it off of the shelf and maneuver it through my house without hitting everything and then carry it down to the lake I can't imagine doing this with a 48-in boat

1988 Godzilla brushed with a mechanical speed control and 2- 7.2 batteries all in a kyosho 28" deep vee hit and jumped over 6' at a time clocked with a radar gun at 52 mph still have hull ...tried since to duplicate performance, but it was a mutant being . Great boat thanks for the review ✌️😎🙏

This boat is getting into the land of diminishing returns. Poly hulls are fine for under 30" but I question the longevity in this application. The amount of expense in batteries just to get it to 50 mph is nuts. My little 30" fiberglass 4s boat hits that with ease and doesn't even have to be running so dry that its porpoising like this one does.
Look at the size of the hardware off the back , pro boat for the win it’s not out in my country yet.

Seems to have good power, but runs a bit choppy despite the water not being that rough. Maybe it needs some adjusting on the trim tabs or other setting, to hold a more stable angle when "on the plane"

the view from the drone was cool. wonder if you could hook up a follow me type to it and take it farther out. the craziest part was the glass smooth surface and lack of other people, that alone would make it worth the trip.

I was thinking the same as you Nate. That is, like other big models I have, it looks a little bit slower than the smaller RC's.
I actually like the original sonic wake the v two better is small and cheaper but this one is coming in 2ed place for sure
So a new traxxas 36” is $699. Not too bad pricing. I have the all blue Traxxas Spartan from 2014. At 6S it will hit 50. But any chop on the water will flip it too. I love how they have a self righting option.

Honestly just about 10-12 minutes. Boats usually don’t offer very long run times in general, but especially short times when they are 6 feet long and hit 50mph!! 😬😅💯⚓️
