James: I've seen another UA-camr smoothing the surface of these tpu/flexible parts with a hot air rework station. Might make it look more slick in places? Just an idea.
It looks great. The only change I can think of right now is the plates used for the hands. They are quite bulky looking compared to the sleek tight fit of the rest of the suit. I think it would look better to make something in the style of a gauntlet. :)
New chest piece really helped! Maybe do something for neck armor too, that's usually an area that's hard to protect but with multiple sections of flexible plastic it could probably be done!
This looks great! I would suggest a piece covering where the cape attaches, something to bulk up your trapezius area so you don't have an empty space between your chest plate and the cowl
The yellow colour just looks a bit wrong. Also I think the arm yellow thing should be blue so it looks like a screen that batman would actual have in real life.
It needs turn signals. So when someone is chasing you, you turn on the left turn signal, and then at the last second, turn right. That’s not my idea. I learned that (and everything else I know) from the Simpsons.
I love how you combine different batman styles, actually looks really cool, keep it up! One thought tho, extend the mesh pattern, so it covers the entire shirt (or at least the visible parts)
Maybe you mentioned this, but is that the only yellow you could use? It is VERY yellow. That fits in with the comic book batsuits, but they're grey and blue. The black armored look is from the movies, which opt for black/bronze. With the neon yellow I'd say you look more like The Human Taser! :D
Just out of curiosity, do you plan to put a finish on the armor paneling? I've seen someone use a solvent to smooth out the ridges left from the printer and then high grit sand away the sheen. Have you heard of or plan on doing this?
Will the cape be able to become rigid like the one in Dark Knight? I bed a bit of filament or wire going through a tube in a seem could be pulled tight by a motor to produce that effect.
Haha ROFLMAO thinking of you in those briefs jumping off the building. I can see the headlines now "man attempts flight in 3D printed batsuit; now he's working on 3D printing a new spine".
I would suggest Polishing the 3D printed parts so they don't look like they're 3D printed and using paint to highlight the Batman logo and maybe other pieces of armour
About the belt (and all the yellow pieces for that matter), any chance that you will paint them in dark gold (or at least tone down the bright yellow they are right now with some paint brush) ? Because that bright yellow colour looks really silly, to be honest. That's just my opinion, BTW. Feel free to ignore me on that one. Maybe it'll look better when the whole thing is done. Who knows. Otherwise, it looks mostly brilliant.
I like what you've done with the belt in terms of functionality. It's cool that you can actually use it to hold stuff. Maybe make a phone pouch? Also, were you planning on keeping the glossy finish on the main body pieces or were you eventually going to end up with a more matte look? I think either would look cool, but if you're going with the glossy maybe think about incorporating some chrome or metallic elements? Just a thought.
Health and safety department at his local council insisted on it- if you’re gonna chase round the town rooftops you need some Hi-vis on! It’s a madness!
Little sugestion about the elbow pieces. You should strap them somehow to the forearms pieces because when you are bending elbows those guards stays straight.
So, um... maybe you could consider adding another piece to the chest plate, to further bulk it up? :) Something in the center, to make it stick out more, to give your chest more heroic proportions :)
The hand backs look like the stick to far out in front of your knuckles and it gives it a bit of an awkward appearance, otherwise this thing is awesome! great job.
I hate to say it, but you might have wanted to go for more of the Adam West Batman look with the build your body has. The other option is to wear a muscle suit under the bat suit to give you some bulk since you are as slender as you are.
This is really good but, with your ability you should be able to come up with amazing gadgets on the belt. Batman lives and dies by his tech. You should make magnetic GPS trackers, a tazer, a smoke bomb dispenser, a clip that can dispense and hold several batarangs, a batknife, grapling gun holster, forensics tools (ie: print powder and brush, evidence bags, UV light, small vials, labels and a pen. In 1 small pouch) and of course a spot for the battery that arms the electro shock theft deterrent when the belt is removed or undone. You can't just have 2 dollar store flashlights and a button. The belt is integral to what makes batman, batman. An average human who can hang with superheroes on their level through sheer ingenuity and determination. His utility belt is his superpower, you can't flake on it. (Oh yeah and money and prep time. Lol)
I'm also assuming that your phone is going to be in your forearm guard. You can't not have a communications device/computer on your left forearm. I mean come on it's super easy and just way too obvious. Make a bat themed wallpaper/lockscreen for it too! Ok I'm done nerding out. For now.. Lol
James, those shoulder bells are terrible and impractical. They should not overlap the upper arm in that way -- as actual body armor, they would cause severe movement problems. I suggest you redesign them to flare out more like a bell, or shorten them so they don't touch the rerebrace.
:) I'm just saying that superhero armor looks better when it looks functional. If the shoulder bell gets stuck on the rerebrace -- which it will -- it'll be awkward to wear.
I guess the issue is the physique of Bruce Wayne is much bulkier than yourself, which is why you had to add on the back piece to bulk out the cape. The chest looks a bit too detached from the abs, and I guess you need to look at he-man style physiques to get the bulking more accurate. It doesn't help that Affleck hulked up even more than Bale which makes the perception that Batman needs to be crazy big and strong...
Apologies, watched all yr stuff, you are immensely good at what you do, and I totally appreciate the huge amount of work you put into your projects, I just think this doesnt look quite right, the shoulders proportions look off, and although the chest piece is extremely well done it looks a little flat with regards to the pectoral area.
Yeah, the chest looks much better, and the thing as a whole is starting to look EPIC! Keep up the great work!
The yellow is very bright for the Dark Knight style suit.
Looks great! I like the shininess of the suit when you move around. The cape looks good too!
I would need a full Corset made from Ninjaflex to hold my Stomach in...

Should print batarangs that are foldable so when you take it out it unfolds like in the batman series
Can't wait to see them
Ask the hacksmith to send you some of his batarangs!
New chest piece really helped! Maybe do something for neck armor too, that's usually an area that's hard to protect but with multiple sections of flexible plastic it could probably be done!
Watching you whacking your dangle with a mallet definitely had me laughing.
The suit is looking good man, nice job! I think you nailed the cape posture. The magnets were a stroke of genius.
This looks great! I would suggest a piece covering where the cape attaches, something to bulk up your trapezius area so you don't have an empty space between your chest plate and the cowl
Your batman impression is so weird and fun, I LOVE IT!
Wake up. Make packed lunches. Walk my kids to school. Keep looking at how bulky the armour plating covering Jame's junk is. Just a normal Tuesday.
That looks awesome.....keep up the good work
C'mon James! I'm sure you didn't need the cup ;) haha
... Hmm
Could you adapt the belt pods to hold a cell phone/wallet for when you're cosplaying at a Con?
Jordan Brock
That's what the Boy Wonder's for, to carry Batman's wallet and phone!
I'm curious what 5v regulator you used? It's hard to find little ones like that in my experience. thanks.
Great build!
Coming together great!
I might have missed this if it was mentioned; though is there a chance of you making a helmet as-well?! :-D
I love how you combine different batman styles, actually looks really cool, keep it up!
One thought tho, extend the mesh pattern, so it covers the entire shirt (or at least the visible parts)

0:48 brings a whole new meaning to the term beat-boxing!

Isn't bright yellow from the original series with Adam West?
Pretty cool James and if it gives you an idea Batmans mask has a night vision mechanism In it
awesome!! looking forward for the electronic effect
Wow. Amazing work!!
It looks just like Batman:D
Chest looks good.
Just out of curiosity, do you plan to put a finish on the armor paneling? I've seen someone use a solvent to smooth out the ridges left from the printer and then high grit sand away the sheen. Have you heard of or plan on doing this?
Have you ever considered painting the Bat Symbol on the chest and a few other on the other parts with gunmetal gray?
It really starting to come together. Looking awesome. Can't wait to see the next vid. TkEZ»UK
_Are you taking the codpiece James?_
Matthew Meyle you should try 3d printing a better sense of humour.
Need a yellow bat logo on the chest piece, maybe multi colour print!
I would suggest Polishing the 3D printed parts so they don't look like they're 3D printed and using
paint to highlight the Batman logo and maybe other pieces of armour
Any chance we might see the MJOLNIR armor from Halo?
Coming along nicely
hehe hilarious. i do enjoy watching your videos. especially as i dont have the patience...or the skills :-) to do this myself.
Is the bat symbol on the chest going to be painted yellow?
I'm looking forward to the mask baecause that could be very interesting if you make bright eyes
BlackMax88
It's Batman, not Watership Down! 😜

Looking great! One suggestion, build up the Trapezius area of the suit. This will give the illusion of having thicker and wider shoulders.

Black.. I understand makes the suit stealthy...
But yellow?? I mean...that actually draws more attention...!
Health and safety department at his local council insisted on it- if you’re gonna chase round the town rooftops you need some Hi-vis on! It’s a madness!
Bats is probably in your face by the time you've seen the belt
10:00 almost look like Darth Vader Cosplay just a little bit lol
Little sugestion about the elbow pieces. You should strap them somehow to the forearms pieces because when you are bending elbows those guards stays straight.
This is a pretty different type of video, but I love it!
You had me at the paddle lol
Not everyones cup of tea, but I'm getting kind of a LEGO batman vibe with the plastic-y & blocky components, loud colour scheme... I dig it. Nice.
Looks awesome, but I’d recommend you get a dance belt instead of the sports cup.
i love your videos! i just find your channel, i also have a small props and art channel where i just finished my samurai batman cosplay!
Omg the mallet part killed me 😂😂😂😂😂
I love the hackaday shirt btw
looks amazing. the elbow sections need something to stop them flapping about
Great work
But why don't you start building black panther suit too as you have done so good work on iron man suit
What 3d software do you use?
fusion 360
0:49 tafazzi is that you?
0:49 are u good bro?
Timmy wants his mallet back.
still waiting for that full alien costume reveal :-(
So, um... maybe you could consider adding another piece to the chest plate, to further bulk it up? :) Something in the center, to make it stick out more, to give your chest more heroic proportions :)
nice bat-balls protector.
The hand backs look like the stick to far out in front of your knuckles and it gives it a bit of an awkward appearance, otherwise this thing is awesome! great job.
Where is Bane????
Looks good, maybe go through and make it less shiny
You get a like for the into alone XD
Captain Underpants?
I would have spray painted the belt bronze or gold.
The plain yellow sticks out like a sore thumb
Connect the electronics to the electric batman skateboard, please
I hate to say it, but you might have wanted to go for more of the Adam West Batman look with the build your body has. The other option is to wear a muscle suit under the bat suit to give you some bulk since you are as slender as you are.
Huh, those flashlights you’ve got, ive got the exact same, and I am British, not to sound creepy, but I know were you live...
I'd love to see you do a Darth Vader suit
I love it! Except for the shoulders, they look kinda awkward
It's a magic carpet.
For a laugh, do a 60s TV series batman
This is really good but, with your ability you should be able to come up with amazing gadgets on the belt. Batman lives and dies by his tech. Ok I'm done nerding out.
For now.. Lol
Mallets!
Please chance the color of the belt, is really ugly (the color i mean), and please transform the suit in a opaque version!!!
James Bruton 😂 lol
James Bruton Yes, but not polished, bale's costume was very matt
The hand pieces looks like shovles..
James, those shoulder bells are terrible and impractical. They should not overlap the upper arm in that way -- as actual body armor, they would cause severe movement problems. I suggest you redesign them to flare out more like a bell, or shorten them so they don't touch the rerebrace.

I'm quite disturbed

Why does He everytime Shows historischen underpants? 😂😂
Bruh 💀 his legs. Nice outfit tho
James is still a better batman than Ben Affleck
The hands look like c3po hands
The suit's looking great. Given your stature every time I see this I always think batman beyond. Shame you went for the yellow instead of red.
i would make some better gloves for it
not meaning to sound nasty but this is looking pants I would have gone for a more Arkham Knight design.
James Bruton everyone's a critic... Lol
00:00 - #Meme_fuel
Holy shit it's slender man
You ar good
now you just need to print a suitable physique!!!
After seeing you smack your crotch with that hammer, I want to go watch Red Dwarf.
Sorry... But the chest needs to be bigger and rounder...
Clearly man,you need some mucsel to wear this suit
The NEST why gain muscle when you can just 3D print muscle? 💪
I don't think 'mucsel' is relevant! 😜
Iron man Mark 48
You look like not a 🦇bat man
3d printing looks so garbage
Considering it is from one of the best "hobby level" printers, I think they look great.
