It's is funny how they used to show casino gambling as something exclusive and elegant.
Still arguably is, just not in most places. I don’t gamble myself but the card game sequences were always some of my favourites in classic Bond. I think that’s why Bond feels a bit like a fish out of water in sleazy Las Vegas in the next film 😂
It was in those days. You had to pay to get in or be a member in many casinos (or certain sections). This is still the rule in many parts of East Asia.

Lazenby, while convincing in the action scenes, could never carry himself walking into a room, the same way Sean Connery could. As a spy, he shouldn't need to look around so much to take room in.
Watch Diana Rigg, she does the same thing when she walks. Lazenby does the same thing when walking into his hotel room earlier. I think this was something which they were asked to do specifically when walking.
Interesting analysis I sort of thought the same thing. Same with even the littlest things such as the way lazenby handles the cards on the table a little less smoothly. Just watch connerys introductory scene in dr no and compare it to this and you’ll see what I mean
@@kingshekk6882 He definitely felt the pressure yet, despite the final product making him look very good, and he admitted that himself.
As you say, its the smallest things which show how much work was done and redone during this film.
For example, look at the changer who collects Bond's money gets his chips. While he is gone from the table, you can see the changer standing by the table in the very next shot.
Another example is the women standing behind Bond before he saves Tracey, specifically the asian woman on the left of screen... she wants to look at Bond before he speaks and then stops herself a second, only to look again :)
The changer, behind Tracey also looks at Bond briefly before he speaks.
Lazenby mentioned himself in follow up interviews how much pressure he felt he was under, and how much he felt disrespected. I can thus understand his decision to leave the franchise.
That said, I think he would have really grown into the role, because he displayed willingness to take Bond's character development to new levels. The very same character development we've seen with Craig now.
@@laislabonita He brought humility to the character. It was very unusual and could not have sustained the series. But it was a depth that neither Sean nor Roger could have believably pulled off. OHMSS is least "Bond" of Bond movies, but still an incredible action-packed drama with a lot of heart......
Honestly, I think this is your own confirmation bias making something out of nothing.
This entrance is all wrong. Lazenby is looking around.... kind of stumbling. Looking like he's just happy to be there. Nothing is right.... director should have yelled cut and killed this take right away. How did it end up in the film?
0:55 yeah not very smooth with the cards either if you didnt notice, but it is what it is
