Ooh takes me back hopping on the bus with the bus conductor handing you your ticket! ☀️ Going to the pictures to watch a film and the lady would come round with ice cream, the good old days!
its wonderful isn't it , I've been going since it first started way back in 1969 , sadly am not going to be able to make it this year though as am looking after my wife at home who's really poorly at the minute , we used to have an old bus we used to take to this show and many other shows around Yorkshire, we have an old morris minor now that we sometimes take to shows along with some large models that we made , thanks for sharing this video 👍
Hello. Thank you for your story. Let's hope that this show continues for years to come. They have a great band of volunteers to help things run smoothly. I hope your wife will be able to make another visit.
Iconic double- decker English bus!! Are they still made ? They’re beautiful ! I always thought they were only red ! What a lovely tribute to a classic …an interesting tour. Yes ! That’s Petula Clark singing away !!!!Thank you .. I enjoyed . ❤x
@@meanqueensuperscrimper8908 oh wow - that should be interesting . Never heard until now , a vehicle that large being electric! 4: 30 am here - you’ll appreciate knowing I’m getting ready for my daily walk at first light!! Have a good day Ilona.❤️🌷🦋
@@meanqueensuperscrimper8908 wow- trucks too…I see only a few electric cars around . I can tell they’re electric as they have no grill work(??) 67 Fahrenheit at this moment . A bit of a chill Enjoy your day Ilona. Looking forward to seeing you again ❤️🌿
I trained on a yellow Stevensons of Uttoxeter double decker. Passed the test first time and went on to do some driving for them. School runs, stage carriage work, day trips to the seaside, shoppers buses, and private hire. I remember doing a trip to Sheffield Beer Keller. They all got drunk and I had to clean the bus when I got back to the depot at midnight. YUK.
A good outing for elementary kids to see the way we use to get around . Love it. Blessings to all ❤

We didn't have much money in those days, but a ride on a bus was a special outing.
@@meanqueensuperscrimper8908 Yes and lots of things to do as a kid growing up in the seventies that were fun, and free!
Oh those memories!

Hi everyone ! For those interested there is a good documentary about UK buses and bus drivers on YT. The title is "Fares please". Enjoy 😊

Hello Marilyn. They do still make new double deckers. Some of the manufacturers are experimenting with an electric version.
