- In version 4.3 we are getting 2 new artifact sets, Nighttime Whispers in the Echoing Woods and Song of Days Past. In this video I will explain what both sets do, and compare them to existing sets in the game. I'll compare Nighttime Whispers in the Echoing Woods (new geo set) on geo damage dealers, and compare Song of Days Past (new healing set) with other healing and supportive sets.
*There was a bit of confusion regarding who Song of Days Past buff applies to, (It's to the active character only) Since then I have removed that section of the video but the set is still bad.

You misunderstood the healing set. The damage bonus only applies to the active on-field character, and you have an entire 6 seconds from your first instance of healing to trigger before the buff actually activates.
This means 2 things:
1. This buff at the bare MINIMUM has a 6 second cooldown.
2. More than likely, only your active character is axtually going to receive the buff in question. (Which is good)
However, you were not wrong about the set still being dissapointing. It simply doesnt deal good enough damage to justify its existence. Assuming your healer hits that 15,000 health restore limit, your active carry gets 8% of that as damage, five times.
15,000 x .08 = 1,200 damage per instance
1,200 x 5 = 6,000 total damage
Going back to that cooldown time of 6 seconds (realistically it WILL be longer because of various factors), this artfact set at most has the potential to net you about 1000 extra damage per second.
Of course, this damage at the very least is added to your on field carry, thefore can be multiplied by crit, elemental damage bonus, and multiplicitive reactions. But again, only for 5 hits.
Now compare that to Ocean Hued Clam, which has 3.5 seconds of downtime, but can produce up to 27,000 damage (more/less depending on enemies physical resistance). Ocean Hued Clam is netting you about 8k damage per second (which is lowered to 5k~ dps against physically resistant enemies).
In terms of damage, Ocean Hued clam has this set beat by leaps and bounds, with very little downtime, and benifits units with powerful, persistent healing.
In order for this new set to compete, one of these things needs to happen:
1. Raise, or outright remove the healing cap of 15,000. (Healers only heal so much as is)
2. Increase the damage increase ratio from 8%
3. Give 5 trigger quota's to ALL party members, rather than just the on-field carry.
4. Keep its current attributes, but increase the number of trigger quota's, by like double.

@@fancymustache3793 unless its already changed, but set shown in the video specify that additional 30% bonus effect last basically until you have crystal shield. Sure, you get 20% after you use skill, tho.
Nighttime Whispers in the Echoing Woods sounds like a really good artifact set for Navia... gosh, all of these Fontaine characters are so cool, I just want to pull for them all

Yeah cloud retainer also. I'm not too sure what they mean by plunge attack but it looks to be interesting hopefully we can see what it means next patch.
@@MistsplitterReforged well the plunge attack is the normal attack you do in mid air. last time I checked, Xiao (and Kazoo?) really like to plunge on their enemies.
Ningguang users should be very happy with this set too since she's also a geo attacker.

Knowing from experience that we always get atk% or hp% pieces for husk, you know artifact domains are rigged. If you're farming for nighttime whispers, you'll DEFINITELY be getting perfect pieces for Noelle before getting a passable set for Navia
It's not rigged, the artifact system itself is the problem with its multiple layers of RNG

Correction the Healing set specifically says "When your active party member hits an opponent" So while it's true any party member can use it it's only the one that was on field when the set activates so your off field supports cannot steal stacks despite what the bad wording from that one leaker stated unless they come on field.

@@ozoahameg3582This makes the set better because you control who gets the damage buff. On most teams with a carry this set should be superior to clam (based on how the carry deals damage). If you want to just proc a set amount of damage than clam is better because that's what it was designed for. We dont need another clam set, this is a healer set to make non-anemo healers more useful in hypercarry teams.

@@ozoahameg3582Clam isn't better since it's more favored for sustain healers while there are others that heal in bursts before going on a downtime. So it could be good for Yaoyao, Dori, Barbara, and maybe even Baizhu, especially since deepwood isn't really that effective for aggravate based teams.
Nighttime Whispers sounds like a great set for Ningguang shockrock/wet rock teams since the coordinated elemental attacks will crystallize into shields which give the max 50% buff
This is a big buff for Ningguang and Geo Traveler

yes but only if you dont have Furina and Hunter set already and IMO not worth it but that's just me. Id rather use 2piece set if I use Furina elsewhere

the second set probably still wont outperform clam or viri, but its also tailor made for the upcoming cloud retainer. Since hoyo is making a trend of sets that're tailor made for specific units, we can expect this is the same case.
Edit: I forgot about our favorite lil melusine, Sigewinne. Either way; its tailor made for one of those two, if not both!
I'm gonna farm Navia's set..
I really like her design, and totally gonna play her with Furina, Bennett and Mona, as that's what I think of her team based on Atk buffs and elemental damage bonus along with getting shards off field.

I had such hopes for the healing set. My favorite team currently is hyper Neuvillette with Furina, Kazuha and Baizhu but the deepwoods set Baizhu has been using is totally useless in this team, so I was hoping this would be a great alternative. In my head the rotation would be Furina EQ, Baizhu EQ, Kazuha EQ, Neuvillette EQ, then the buff will activate during Neuvillette's 1st CA, and the 2nd batch of stacks would active during the 3rd CA, so 10 buffed CA hits out of 24. Even if can squish in a 4th CA everyone else's buffs will be expired by the time the set activates for a 3rd time. But I might be missing something. Is is worth farming this set for those hits, or should I just go clam? Not sure which one would result in more total DMG.
Honestly just go clam, not really worth it going for an inconstant buff over consistent clam damage.

i wish i could change the settings to disable just that specific visual effect, i swear it is the ONLY visual effect in the game that bothers me

I use the same team but with a different rotation (Although i have C1 on both Neuv and Furi)
Try this rotation: Neuv E - Furina E - Kazuha E + Plunge Atk - Furi Q - Baizhu E + Q - Neuvi First Charged Atk - Neuv Q - Kazuha E + Plunge Atk - Neuv 2nd and 3rd Charged Atk. :)
I also use 2 pc EOSF + 2 pc Clam + Proto Amber R4 on my Baizhu (51k HP and 226 ER)
They should actually upgrade the healing set, with a good healer with a great healing set each Furina team will became better.
The second set sounds good for Baizhu in a Neuv - Furina - Kazuha team. He currently doesn't have a good set for this team so now I'm currently running 2VG + 2EoSF. It sounds like a nice set since Furina's pets also hit hard so she and Neuv can benefit from the dmg boost... but I don't feel is worth farming, the other set is garbage :/

I think the new healing set is made for future healer that has short heal intervals, which doesnt work for most healers that ocean hue clam is already the best set for them.

@@Scykyc Charlotte isnt really an interval healer until c6, both qiqi and barbara need to be on-field to do decent healing (i'd argue clam set is better for them). The new set is probably designed with cloud retainer's kits in mind.
even with short intervals, the effects are just so underwhelming :( It could only trigger 5 times? all it takes is for Ayaka to do 1 CA and 2 NAs before it runs out of buff and you have to wait for your next rotation. Kokomi's jelly can reach this set's 15k cap with ease, but I doubt that anyone will use it on her (it will only take 4 seconds for a decent-built Koko to reach the cap). So I don't think shorter heal intervals will fix this set since the only major problem this set has is the abysmal trigger quota. Double the trigger quota to 10 and this set might actually be decent.
But even with that, this set will still have another HUGE drawback. This set will make your rotations clunky and stiff since you need to time your first healing tick to align with your team.
@@doublekc Qiqi doesn't need to be on-field to heal well, her off-field healing is actually the highest sustained single target healing in the whole game with an average of 8k-10k per 1-2 sec, and 100% uptime.
She can definitely max out the buff even with ER build and Fav sword. (My Qiqi heals 8k with Favonius, 200% ER, and 60% crit rate, ~10k with Skyward blade).

i kinda prefer new SDP healing artifact than clam. true, clam can deal damage, but it was physical damage was bad enough and new fontaine enemies were mostly meka's.

Then again this rumor is not from a super reliable source so take it with a grain of salt

Furina(constant hydro for crystalize)
Jean(best overcapping team wide healer)
And zhongli/bennet(shield/atk buff)
This will be amazing in 4.3 with the new sets
I think this will be one of the only artifact sets that matches the charcter it was made for in design
There are others, like ocean hued clam (kokomi) and emblem of severed fate (raiden), tenacity of the millelith (zhongli)
@@fabioavaro7947 Also heart of depth (Childe), pale flame (Eula), (idk exactly which came out first but they do match visually), Deepwood memories (Nahida), and i would even argue vermillion hereafter (Xiao). i mean look at the circlet- it's literally a yaksha's mask.
...and if you read the lore of the set it's apparent the set is related to Bosacious, which we all know the story of from Perilous Trail. So, Xiao's essentially wearing his yaksha friend's artifact pieces🙃

Echoing Woods will be BiS for Ningguang which've been neglected for so long due to how recent Geo set and support seems to favor DEF... but in the same vein it'll be useless for the likes of Noelle or Itto.
@MistsplitterReforged Do you think the healing set can work for Charlotte in a Eula team? I feel like the buff works well with her.
For Eula specifically if you can time the buff to start just before Eula's burst hits it could work. But that's not to say it better than +20% ATK for tenacity or noblesse. This set is better for characters with low damage multipliers, since it gets added to the base damage. For Eula, her burst has a really high scaling (674%) so the buff you get from Song of Days Past is lower than +20% ATK.
The healing set sounds like a fun alternative set for DPS Jean/NA spam Jean(for her passive heals); in most situations, VV is almost always gonna be a better option, but if you're using her in like a mono-anemo team with Xiao or Wanderer it could be a fun option (though noblesse will still probably be better)

Song of days past will definitely be rlly good but only for people with furina. Furina has made healers like Jean and future cloud retainer way better.
The healing set will probably good in Ayaka's Team because you use Kokomi and when she heals the countdown will start and after 6s the buff will applied to active character's attack up to 5 times.. you bit misunderstood it but yea I agree this set is not really that game changing given that it is limited for 5 attacks only
I’m not too sure it looks like this is for healers who use there burst to do big heals and swap off Kokomi’s burst heals the entire party yes but she has to normal attack which would use up the stacks right ? And just using her skill and swapping to another character won’t be able to get to the 15,000 health to heal for max stacks. (This is just from what I understand I obviously can be wrong just thought I’d give my input)
@@RestInFlames well if you build kokomi enough she's easily reach that 15k heals.. my kokomi heals 6k per tick so by the end you switch to ayaka she'll receive that max heals.

Always healing sets for some reason, it's ridiculous how much there is in contrast to another set like Marechaussee Hunter.
Right now, I’m looking to give this set to Baizhu, Mika, and Charlotte.
On teams where I use Baizhu, I usually run him with another Dendro unit, and most likely, that unit also has Deepwood. Given his healing has good numbers and uptime, I think it would be better that he has that set instead.
Mika has pretty good uptime on his burst and healing, and I’ll experiment to see if the numbers are better than Noblesse.
Charlotte, I’m still iffy on because the healing doesn’t last long enough for multiple waves, but not every team uses ATK, so it’ll be a more flexible option than Noblesse.

Does the buff the healer set gives is multiplicative to total damage or just an added one. Cuz if its additive a 15k max total of heal is equal to estimated of around 800+ flat damage per hit which is a disappointment
It's added to base DMG, so it's multiplicative.
i think the healing set may be for sigewinne! that's just my assumption, as we know nothing about her kit other than being hydro ( and a healer, since she's a nurse )
i can’t know for sure what calculations you did to reach the sets’ comparison’s damage percentages, but, with the assumption of using furina in the noelle team, although i didn’t do the math i think husk’s defense bonus becomes more valuable enough to outshine the new set. i’m sure you know this already, but, with furina’s fanfare dmg bonus, the increased value of the stat by which damage is obtained through multiplying becomes MUCH more efficient than normally. I can’t know for sure without doing the calculations, but i think you might have missed that and ended up ranking husk lower accordingly. Navia, Gorou, Albedo, & Cryo/Electro/Hydro/Pyro AoE character.
Albedo is good for the AoE Geo DMG and the Elemental Mastery buff (Crystallize Shield DMG absorption).
Noelle hypercarry with itto weapon and husk set + gorou/yunjin and furina hits 100k and i just started farmeing mara set for her now i gotta do this too 😭

I was waiting to farm the healing set for charlotte for my team with furina/kazuha/neuvillette but it doesn't sound that good, is it still recommended instead of nobility or mililith?

why atk on the geo set though. I thought they were going for the def scaling on geo characters? I mean ever since albedo, all other geo characters were def scaling. this just sucks. No to mention you have to keep the crystallize shield. having more defense increases the value of those onion skin shields. lest you want to build EM on them. is that what they are going for?
Navia’s scaling is ATK based plus her kit revolves around crystallize, that artifacts are basically hers and maybe usable on Ningguang (I don’t have ningguang but I heard she uses ATK too).
Let’s hope Navia doesn’t get nerfed like Dehya. She’s a great character in-game. Now she just needs to do decent damage and work well with teams.
I'm very tempted to farm the new geo set for my Zhongli just to try it out, but I still don't have a good mh set for neuv yet. Smh

Ok, well they said song increases base dmg, and while im not 100% sure what this means, im assuming it increases dmg before buffs such as crit damage, goblet dmg bonus, character buffs, food, ect.
So, we have 8% of the 15k stored for 1,200 base dmg increase. If this is before all of the above, then with 150% crit damage, a dmg goblet being for simplicity sake 50%, and lets say mona dmg buff of 60%.
Then multiply by 5 for each instance, you have 36,000 damage. And id imagine food, constellations, other character buffs, and easily attainable higher crit damage value would increase this amount even more
But since its only a leak shown in this video (i assume) then we cant be 100% sure this is what it's like, 99% maybe. And these numbers are based on if it increases before any other buff i mentioned, which may be incorrect, but until we see it in game, and use it ourselves, then anything could be the case
i do wonda how the artifact set Song Of Days Past would work with a c6 furina? considering she would heal huge numbers escically if you use her ousia form healing for almost 18 seconds with big numbers (having around 83400 hp would heal 15k hp)?
Sooo… would nighttime whisper be good for geo traveller DPS then?
So Ocean Claim set is better than this new healing set one? For Kokomi, Qiqi, Baizhu, Barbara Ocean Claim is still better?
Ocean Hued Clam is better overall.
So far I haven't seen any numbers for the GEO set that have realistic assumptions for Crystallize shield uptime, for example 50% or something like that. Then there is the fact you're getting 3x fewer pieces from the same amount of resin because you could farm the 2x18% ATK set domain instead and strongbox an ATK% set if you aim for 2x18% ATK sets. Factoring that in and the higher probability of 4 row artifacts in strongbox leads to the assumption that your substats on the new set will always be worse than on the 2 piece sets.
Including all of that, is the new 4pc set still worth it for Navia? I have a feeling it's significantly worse but anyone has the math skills to prove it?
As far as the strongbox goes, you can always use that to benefit another character. I don't know about you, but I have plenty of older sets I want better/more good pieces for, like Emblem, Noblesse, VV, CW, and Pale Flame (not really satisfied with my Eula's artifacts). And that's for someone who has been playing since the game's launch. For a new player, there will be even more need for older pieces.
Of course, that ignores other factors. Like 3x weekly bosses getting me Gladiator half the time. And then there are all the boss kills to ascend characters. And all the atk 2 piece ones I picked up while farming the other set in the domain (like Emblem). But, honestly, that is a general issue for a long term player. You'll have a lot of pieces laying around with good sub-stats, than no matter where you farm, it takes a lot of farming before you can improve anything over what you have laying around. I mean, the 4.0 Fontaine sets are good, been farming that since Fontaine released, and I have a very nice set for my Furina, only just managed to upgrade my Fischl, and don't have a Hunter set worth using yet. Artifact RNG sucks.
So is it better for Charllotte in a team with Neuvillette, to use Ocean hued than this new set?
I kinda dont know what to put on her, and the ocean set dont really buy for me with the phys damage lol

Nighttime Whisper is good for my upcoming Ningguang build (bcs I finally have Solar Pearl from BP and no plan of getting Navia)
And the healing artifacts sound like it's just a more complicated and worse set than Ocean Hued. Got it.
I guess I can always feed it to strongbox to get better healing bonus circlet for my Kokomi. Her ocean hued circlet is still purple after all this time.

Are there any geo infusion characters? ZhongLi dps or maybe support is maybe good with this
so far the only elements that have characters that give infusion are pyro (c6 bennett), cryo with chongyun’s E and hydro with candace’s Q
all the other infusions are self ones either via elemental skill or bursts
Does the new healing set work on Jean?
Looking at past trends, these two new artifact sets should be for the next two new limited characters - Navia (4.3), Cloud Retainer (4.4?). So no point judging the healing set now.

hypothetically, in a noelle-furina team, would i want to use nighttime whispers on noelle or stay with marechaussee?

If your playing Furina, Marechaussee Hunter is slightly better than Nighttime. And either way Marechaussee Domain is a more efficient domain for your resin.
Wait what did that healing set get OmegaNerfed recently? I thought the cap was 30k and it lasted for 10s and more hits...?
they buffed the DMG% from 3 to 8 and decreased everything else.
Wouldn’t healing set be really good on on field Kooomi (Kokomi, Furina, Yelan, Xinqiu for example)?
The video misunderstood how the new set works. It actually only buffs the on-field character, and not the entire team. Ocean-Hued Clam is still Kokomi's best on-field artifact set.
Honestly tho, with how bad the numbers are, the only time you'd ever want this set over Noblesse or Tenacity is if your on-field character doesn't scale with ATK (Like NEUVILLETTE), and even then, the instructor set exists.

6:00 i don't get it. I thought only the active character will get the buff? When the buff starts, why would shenhe and kazuha taking some of those buff when your active character is already ayaka?
Well it's just how the set was made, multiple leakers confirmed that the buff is shared among all party members. It's unfortunate, even if the buff was not shared among party members it still would have been underwhelming.
It's only for the active character, right? So after you heal, you should be switching to your dps so it would take the buff no matter if there are any current damaging abilities onfield from a subdps or support who isn't active.
@@GettieJC No, It's similar to Furina's buff, applies to the whole party whether they're active or not. Since it applies to the whole party, the number of triggers is also shared.

So another GEO buff and another Healer buff. Geo set is simple enough, its good for GEO characters that dont scale on DEF alone so they have another option other then HUSK or Petra.
The healer set seems wordy but it should work out really well with a combo of Thrilling Tales swap to your Main DPS, so Barb, Koko, Char, Baizhu, being the healer catalyst users might make the most of this. Koko might be able to use it as a main DPS set rather then just using the clam set, she can prob solo with the set. Dori and Diona tossing out a Healing field and turret might be able to use this set to buff the character you swap to after them. There are a lot of ways to use this set but depending on which healer you use will change that order of operations on how you get the most of it. Nuev can use it, but I dont think its better then just a wanderers or March Hunter set.

No, It's not really good for anyone, only specific situations were you don't need an attack buff or VV resistance shred.

For what I see for Navia, I feel that this new set (while it does synergies with her kit around crystalize reactions) is not as good as Husk for her. For Husk, you pop her burst and it stacks up in a few shots to give you the full bonus. With this set and because HOYO seemingly refuses to give out buffs to anything, crystalize shields break easily against anything that isn't a geo vishap's elemental attack so you would constantly be losing the bonus and not always get the effect to stay active.
If you're in a team with geo that can't swirl then they WILL benefit from an attack buff, and as such one of the other sets is still better.

I'm pretty sure it is, whenever you add any DMG % in the damage formula it always base*(1+DMG%), I made the same mistake of just putting *150% in my original Furina guide, but it does work that way because if whatever damage bonus was 50% (0.5) if you multiply it you will get a lower value, so it's always 1+DMG% to get an increase of DMG.

the way the effects are worded is kinda annoying. it feels like mihoyo wants to confuse the player.
the 4pc NWEW basically gives 50% geo dmg when shielded.
20 + 20(150%) = 50
just use the actual percent instead of using a percentage on the percent.
