Great video. Your videos have helped me so much in shooting as well as reloading. Im a newb to the lomg range stuff and im experiencing tremendous success. Thank you sir!
Reducing the objective lens diameter also reduces the exit pupil. That in turn means you need to center up your eye in the scope a little better and that reduces the effect of parallax. I've made such things for F Class out of a piece of flat plastic and trapped it between the butler creek flip up lens cover and the bell of the scope. It also causes some eye strain but for PR we are not behind the scope very long, so it really is better suited to PRS than F Class... particularly here in Canada when we shoot in squads, not single string like in the USA.
Thanks for the run down Erik. I can't wait to see the fclass step by step prep and shooting. What powder are you shooting in your 284 shehane. Just got my 16lbs of vv n150 for my 6x47's. I was shooting h4350 in the one i have built but it's getting hard to find. So I'm going to try the n150 in it after i get done with my h4350. I've always called that a scope Aperture, just like a camera.

I hope you can give us that don’t know about them a quick explanation in how self timing muzzle brakes work . I hear some UA-camrs mention these type of muzzle brakes but they don’t mention how they work and why they put them on their rifles.

@@conservativesniperhunter7439 No idea, I've noticed that there are 2-3 people who seem to immediately give Erik a thumbs down...probably someone he' smoked in a match.

cool... that ring on the front is just about like the aperture selection on a camera, so you can get the depth of field that you want, with a slight decrease in light level (daylight shooting, with such a big objective, should not be an issue)... I haven't seen it before, but makes a LOT of sense for high magnification, when you need to shoot at varying range. if you use the 'hyperfocal distance rule' you can set it for 1/3 nearer, 2/3 further (e.g. approx 300/400/600?) Thanks for showing this...
Everything aspect is carefully thought out on your boom stick. Not exactly a $300 savage axis in .308. I may have missed it, but what was the total weight of the rig? Can you approximate the $ total for the completed build with action, barrel, chassis, scope, mount, rail, bipod, weibad cheek piece, and so on? If not, no worries.
Wouldn’t a narrow depth of field help with ensuring you have your parallax dialed right? Or is the parallax difference at these longer ranges not that significant?
Great video. Great tool to shoot your matches with. You need a videographer to help you in your matches so you can concentrate on sending projectiles downrange and get those trophies. 😎 👍👍👍👍👍
Erik, thank you for the specs of your rifle very nice. On your post before this last match, you talked about your other rifles. Hi , new to your video. I was wanting to know more about your dies . I reload on the 650 and in progress to get the Co-Ax . My question is about your dies. They looked pretty impressive. Could you tell more about your dies? Thankyou enjoy your knowledge.
Your rifle chassis has a built in level, but how do you adjust your scope reticle to ensure it is vertical when the level on the chassis says it is level? I've seen various gizmos for truing the scope reticle so it is vertical but a professional must have a better method. I don't shoot longer than 200 so I just eyeball it.
Set the rifle level on a countertop. Take a piece of paper and stick it to the wall behind rifle. Draw a perfectly level line on paper using a level. Dim lights and shine light in front of scope. Reticle will show up on wall. Rotate scope until reticle lines up perfectly with line you drew on wall while ensuring rifle is still level. Tighten scope.
