Bear is probably the strongest untwinked melee character in the game, you can pretty much roflstomp the game on p8 without farming for gear once. The character might "suck" purely for speedrunning, but if you understand the game beyond just speedrunning you'll understand how strong this character is. You can pretty much spec for damage and life from the start, bear also gives you defense which is underrated, plus you have a early spirit to increase life of your merc, and fireclaws to use after you maul up.
So I just bought and installed D2 R. on sale $13 from Blizzard, I was not really ready to pay $$40.00 but when I checked the web site and saw it on sale well that was it. I used to play D2 LOD for years and am absolutely amazed at the detail in the new graphics. Everything has so much detail it's unbelievable. I was astonished especially in the tunnels and sewers so much detail in everywhere you go. all the furniture plants everything. it must have taken a lot of time to get all the artwork done for this. keep up the good work in explaining the do's and don'ts you really must have spent a lot more time playing then me.
The main reason for choosing a 2 handed weap, at the beginning and maybe later, is the better speed it provides. Large axes are the fastest (35 strenght needed). At lvl 1 , you can start with a spear. Later, you can make the runeword steel or malice. For malice, you could go with scythe. In act 2, if you decide to go tir-el, you have the option of broad axe and battle axe; they are less quick, but it might worth it. There is also a possibility to shop for 10 ias weaps at the vendor at lvl 3 i think.
One of the things I like about you Mr LLama is that you do you and you don't care how others feel. I think that is great. You have your opinions and you are good with that.

GG Mr.L definitely a brutal build to grind out! But it just gives all the more satisfaction for every little upgrade you find. You slowly feel the character come online which outside of loot is why D2 is just so good ! Keep the content coming !
I am an older guy, I agree with you about kids auto liking stuff. I have had to teach my kid not to auto like things. However, I try to like your vids for everyone I watch.
3 tals in a weapon negate all the bears skills. Thats why its feelsbad. You need to use a maul, polaxe or giant axe for normal. Insight for nm and obedience for hell
unless you are running fire druid normal, or some sort of rabies then all u have is ur transformation and prefered 1v1 bosskiller skill of choice Then there is no reason to not drop 3+ points into wolf and 3 into direwolf to ease your progression. these 6 points will increase speed and safety of progression to a rediculous ammount and be much better spent there then into werebear/werewolf/lycanthropy or oak/wolverine sage the new concurent wolves tank arrows and dangerous mobs, slow and whittle down average goons and finish off stragglers while u can go snipe the high value targets also they provide a way do dump mana as you have basically no use for it.
Rabies is my favorite werewolf build, and it is SLOOOOW to get going. I feel like transformation druids do really well late game, but they struggle on the buildup.
I really appreciate Mr. Llama's professionalism and dedication to the game, but this is a run that I really wouldn't have minded if the character was twinked out with better equipment at the start of the run. 😄
Whoa! What is that throne room skip bug? I’ve never seen that before. You have to be on classic graphics and be on the border and walk out after he laughs? Is that how it works?
I know that the early gear is frequently replaced, but would repairing (even throwaway gear) at Charsi, each time you visit her, increase efficiency (having some stats in those slots is much better than no stats, and fewer hits taken -> less need for running/kiting, potion management/shopping, etc)? Or am I just OCD triggered by the red corner display? I do not claim, in any way, to be an expert.
Im more amazed at the dedication to still play this game after all these years…unless they add something new im totally done with this fantastic top tier of a game.

They should update druid shifted forms to not use weapon durability since when shifted you're technically not swinging a weapon but merely using it's modifiers.
Needs a lvl 30 rampage skill that charges targeted enemy with either knock back and/or stun to anything in its path with percentage damage and high damage to targeted enemy.. synergies Shockwave for stun and/or knockback and maul for damage
feral rage allows u to buildup some high mobuility and attack speed that basically allows you to do that, without the stun besides the wolf is the one with the mobuility, the bear is just supposed to be a hulking tank that casually pulverises anything next to him. having a dragon kick like abuility for the bear would counteract his whole fursona.
Only 30 min in, but why does EVERY daggum playthrough devolve into D4 discussions. I'm here for D2 content! I like to play along, but it makes it annoying to hear about D4, which I don't own and have no desire to play.

I played a werebear maul build as a kid. While I personally loved the playstyle, this choice is also why I could never clear Hell as a kid
