Preview: Forty Niner Restaurant in Aiea

A preview of the Forty Nine Restaurant in Aiea on the corner of Kamehameha Highway and Honomanu Street. We picked up breakfast on an early rainy Saturday morning. The Loco Moco was one of the best that I tried with the soft homemade hamburger patty, good char flavor, and delicious brown gravy. I will have to do a comparison of homemade hamburger steak with this restaurant, Liliha Bakery's version, and the one from Lagoon Chinese Restaurant as those come to mind as the top of the ones that I tried. My old spot, during my bike riding days.....hamburger and saimin.....its been well over 19yrs since Ive been, I used to sit inside, at the counter.....looks like you cant now?

I've driven past there numerous times but have never been. Aren't they supposed to have good fried noodles? They probably overmixed the pancake batter.

This was my first time trying Forty Niner. Like you, I have driven past this place so many times. A friend said that she liked their homemade hamburger steak and loco moco, so we gave it a try. I heard from others that they are known for saimin, which usually means the fried noodles would be good too. Thanks for watching!
