I used to ride Greyhound, some long trips from about 1971 until 1993, I think the last time. I used to be careful like keep my wallet tight in my front pocket to sleep. But I never had any incidents back then, on a bus or a station. The scariest one I was ever at was waiting almost 12 hours in Los Angeles in 1991. A lot of creeps. I never liked to talk to anybody unless I feel them out a while and think they're okay. I did pick up a couple girlfriends on rides, one time on My way to San Diego. Back then We didn't have to worry about any Cellphones, Computers or anything. I never wore jewelry like People do now, makes You a Target.
GreyhoundGURU you're welcome. maybe some day you'll see it. at the time it was old, tiny and multiple rooms. i almost missed the bus home by being in the wrong room. the dispatchers (?) were efficient and helpful. the restrooms were scary because of vintage not people or sanitation. really enjoyed my trip, but gosh it was cold! take a coat or small blanket like you said. i was by myself, but not scared maybe because i was never in a big urban city?
It all depends on the person act like your scared & people take advantage. This coming from a person who has used Greyhound frequently from time to time.
Greyhound Bus Stations are safe it all depends on the traveler. If your into certain things like weed or drugs then bad things will happen to you. When it comes to smoking cigarettes Greyhound normally has a certain gate you can smoke outside so you don't half to go out front. Try to bring your own snacks from dollar tree dollar general or family dollar then you don't half to pull out your money. You can buy a can of potted meat @ dollar tree for a dollar. Those drink packs or sticks are good to bring for drinks every Greyhound has a water fountain where you can fill up your water bottle & make juice ice tea lemon aide. You usually get between 6 to 8 sticks in a box.
Enjoying your videos makes me want to go back to Florida from Tucson Arizona course I have my little dog so I can't travel. Never give her up😊. Be safe
When I ride on Greyhound, I Always sit within the First 3 Rows since I'm Handicapped and have Priority Boarding on my Ticket so I be among the First if not the First one on board!
good thing iam 6'4 300 pounds during my journey I had no problems I had one guy talking to himself an disrupting ppl I came across him an he shut his mouth up I was in Sacramento being big kept me safe only thing sucked Greyhound bus seats was the worst I was swallowing Tylenol pain pills all day
Sometimes if a bus wasn't crowded, nice to have a seat to yourself. I found out in the early 90s that became almost impossible if traveling in California.
That's just life. As long as you use common sense and appear to be confident, you'll be alright. There were times, I was robbed at an airport. Bad things do happen, but it's life
No use trying to velcro yourself to the ceilings of a Greyhound bus on your next bus trip; the crabs, bedbugs, and crotch lice have been trained to jump ten feet high or more! Greyhound buses are like a Texas Walmart at 2:00 am in the morning; a real FREAK SHOW of humanity that P.T. Barnum would have been too scared to present back in the day! The farts, alcohol breath, general body stink, tuna and chloride smells add to the effect and make for a truly unrivaled as well as memorable trip to hell.
I'm from Omaha and when I was back up there I took a buss back down to NM Omaha is so bipolar in every way you'll catch a nice crack head or a nice looking guy who tries to rob you I love your videos you made me feel safe my first and only time so far riding greyhound I'll be taking it again soon
my girlfriend is from a different state and she’s from Evansville, Indiana, and she’s going to the Trotwood greyhound station bus station and me my friend is gonna go down there to pick her up. Hopefully, she’s OK.
I have found that acting insane usually deters any would-be aggressors. Predators generally don't prey on anyone who might pull out a knife and cut their head off.
The reason why you get a lot of vagrants in the Greyhound bus station is because they are looking for shelter. A place they can rest. Greyhound often has a open station where they can sit down and relax and even sleep.
We always bring beer and liquor and smoke and drink together in the back and bring a speaker to play music then around 3 or 4 AM we all start COLLECTIVELY ARGUING AND YELLING
GreyhoundGURU How does greyhound handle medical type emergencies (heart attack, stroke, chest pains, etc.)? Are drivers CPR certified? everyone gets off except one person. Come to find out he/she's having a medical condition. Can passengers have their oxygen with them?
Safety is #1. Sad thing is that if you are trying to be with your luggage and someone comes into the station with no intention of buying a ticket but up to being stupid could do anything to get your suitcase and they could even pull a gun on you to get the suitcase. While riding the bus itself out in the country, it really isn't all that bad, If you have to use the john on the bus, I would urge for people to wait for the bus driver to bring the bus to a full stop like at a station and the lights are turned on. When the bus is traveling at night, the interior lights are off and would be hard to see the seats while moving to the restroom.
Hey man! I'm a 19-year-old foreigner and I'm gonna be traveling on the Greyhound bus from Los Angeles to Tucson at night, I'm a past exchange student from the US so I have some experience and I'm totally fluent in English. Do you think this is a bad idea and that I should reconsider? I've heard some horror stories but I would like to think the best of people!
How did the trip go? My kid started at UofA, so I’m also considering whether a long bus trip between Tucson and Cali is worth the savings versus a plane ticket or cost of gas/food to drive (especially with gas well above $4/gal.). Would love to hear about your experience if you ended up taking Greyhound. Thanks!
No difference at night?! Except maybe for couples having sex in the dark right next to children... Happened in half the buses I was in after 2000... And because of the pitch blackness, what can you do or say? A sign of the times, since before 2000 I had never seen this behaviour.
THEN we ALWAYS start ARGUING AND YELLING WITH THE BUS DRIVER ON PURPOSE STARTING AROUND 5 AM right after we get done arguing amongst ourselves THEN WE START THE ARGUMENT WITH THE BUS DRIVER
Another tip is don't disclose to much personal information to the person next to you or a person you only known since greyhound

I went from Texas to Arizona and back. I never felt afraid. Amarillo bus station at 2 or 3 am is the Star Wars Canteena. Not scary but fascinating.
That's a great description of a Greyhound bus station lol. I might have to use that in one of my videos.

The man is right stay near the bus in the station

Act like you're not someone to mess with (not a target)
Where was this filmed?? So beautiful!
Rose Greyhound overnight so many times to Rio Grande Valley. Never felt scared. Smooth sailing.

I have a 1am departure from Columbus OH. I think I'll get to the station around sunset and NOT LEAVE until the bus comes!

Great video!!!!
gorgeous scenery
Every reason I have for never riding a bus was addressed here. I might pay more for a plane ticket ... but in my opinion ... its worth it.
Sometimes flying is the better option. I can agree with that. Don't tell anyone but I fly sometimes too lol

Research Institute 2 At least you are still alive to talk about it.
Thank you for sharing

Glad to hear you'll be riding again despite the crackheads etc lol. And glad my videos could be of some help.
I have ridden Greyhound at night many times, only one problem I had was I missed the bus in K.C.,Kansas my fault
I had fun.. I definitely ride the bus again just those seats not made for 6'4 tall guys
Glad you had a good trip. Yeah those seats can play the devil with your knees and legs after awhile.
one lady got left they told her it was 25 minute break an she goes off exploring bus leaves she got left ..bus drivers don't play that shit
I tell ppl that all the time but there is always one person that thinks they are special lol and they end up getting left.

Sounds like Atlanta. Just being dropped off there at 4am was scary.
Atlanta is definitely on of those stations that everyone complains about lol

Tell them that you don't want have to go back to the state mental hospital
Another Great Video Helpful

I would imagine that in most cases they just call the authorities and then pull the bus over and wait for help.
has that happened before?
Drake Burd Call 911.

@@albinalfredsson6375 can you tell me some stories about greyhound ??

yes & no. some greyhound buses are safe and some are not to begin with. Nice to ride & to enjoy by day or night.
Not in Atlanta.
Not safe on grayhound at night
It's hard to sleep on a Greyhound in my opinion. So travel during the day if possible, so you can sleep in a comfortable place.

Do you think the bus and seats are clean? Someone mentioned in the comments, lice, scabies, etc......?
No they arent clean!
No
