I did this to my 2014 using your video however I realized that I could remove the entire rear deck by just taking 1 side apart it really only took about 20 mins. Your advice about the tabs definitely helped but I tell you it’s cake. When I put it back together I the last things I put in was the back deck and the small sail panel shaped like a triangle with the pain 7 mm screw. With a little force you can get it all back in without damaging it it will all bend a bit. Your video definitely gave me the motivation to do it. Wish I could get motivated to do a UA-cam video, lol thanks Chief
Great video. I had to replace the shark fin antenna on my 2011 SS and it has similar issues trying to get that bad boy out and back in. I installed a 400watt amp to replace the existing amp and it was a real fun project too. With your video I can now tackle new speakers. Great job. Its ice tea time!
I did rear deck speakers on a 2013 Mustang and this install/reinstall is almost just like that car. It's a pain in the ass but well worth it when it's all said and done.
And I was thinking of upgrading my Boston acoustic sytem in my 15 2SS...lmfao!!! thx for the vid brother... and dam i hope mine dont go south anytime soon..
It sounded like a pair of 300 watt speakers being powered by a 22 watt stereo. Not going ot blast you out of the car but they're no longer blown and buzzing. If I was 20 years old again Id probably add an amp to push them a little harder but Im too old for all that. ;) No special thank yous either. lol
Thanks for watching Blake! That’s the direction I would have preferred to go but unfortunately the hole in the rear deck in these 5th gen Camaros is much larger than a standard 6x9 speaker. This makes an adapter necessary... whether it’s bought or home-made.
Thanks for watching! At the 1:01mark in the video I tell you where I got them. But I also state later in the video that Im not impressed with the quality which is why I didn't put a link in the description. ;)
I have never owned a husky, but have seen videos of them on social media. They seem to be quite social and personable, with lots of howling and talking! 😆😆😆
Can you change the mounting of the rear speakers to inside of the trunk under the rear package tray rather than the stock placement of inside the car? Seems like future speaker replacement would be easier. Looking for your opinion. And thanks for the video.
I don’t see why you couldn’t. The main issue would be to make sure the rear deck still has something to brace itself on in the grill areas to prevent rattling. Normally the speakers have a foam ring that seals to the rear deck so you would want to work out something there. Other than that you could probably figure out a bottom mount setup if that’s what you want.
Thanks for the quick reply. I don’t have the Bose system and nor do I have perfect pitch, but boy can I hear that the stock system sucks. Even talk shows sound poor. I will need to upgrade and appreciate your videos.
Well as I DID mention, the entire reason for this was because one speaker was completely fried and buzzing. So one could assume a set of new speakers would sound better than a fried buzzing speaker. 🤣
wow this looked extremely complicated and time consuming. i think ill just spend the extra money and take it to the chevy dealer or somewhere else to have them install all new speakers on my car lol. I just dont have patience to be doing all that. but this video was interesting to watch tho. =)
Don't be so quick to take it to a dealer. I took mine to them to replace a bad high mount brake light and now every time I turn on the rear defroster, the radio goes static. Not sure what they did because the defroster works fine. When I took it back they said it wasn't from anything they did, that it was a separate problem (coincidence? I doubt it). When I figure out what they did, they'll pay.
More than likely the wire harness for the speakers is probably just pinched where the defroster wiring in and that’s whats causing the interference. At least that’s my guess as there’s really nothing else I could think of that would cause your issue.
No sir, it takes a couple hours as shown in the video. It took me weeks because the parts were shipped to the wrong location. Which is also explained in the video.I will agree its a ridiculous way of mounting them though. They could have easily made them accessible from the bottom and avoided all the drama.
If this video helped you out, be sure to click the 👍🏻 button and share this video on Social media!
as someone who's third brake light went out this and your other removal video are super helpful.
This video saved me a lot of trouble! Thanks!
Thanks for watching! Glad this helped you out brother!

So you did not have to remove the seat?

Dude you are a life saver . I had issues putting the cover of the 6x9 speakers . After looking at your video you made so easy
Glad I could help
thanks for making this video. Now i know how much of a headache it is and i'll leave my stock speakers lol
Why is there 4 wires on the boston system? And how do i go by if i change to aftermarket speakers? Cant find nun on camaro5 forum
Having the same problem
Man, did this last week following your video and it it took me 5 1/2 hours, SMH, video helped a lot thank you!
Glad it helped brother. 👍🏻

Great video. The attention to detail was great 👍🏽
Thanks brother. Hopefully it helped you out cause it was one of the biggest pain in the ass videos I’ve done on this channel. 🤣🤣🤣👍🏻
crutchfield has the right speaker adapters so none of that fabrication is necessary
Dang that's a lot of hassel just to replace the rear speakers brother. Great job though 👍, thank you for the helpful tips and video.
Hello RICKY GRAY, Thanks for watching! Yea its a pretty tedious job for sure.
By any chance do you know the + and - wire color for Left and the right Speakers for the trunk?
If you watch the video I cover how to tell the positive from negative buy using the factory connector.
Bro, this is absolutely insane holy shit
And I was thinking of upgrading my Boston acoustic sytem in my 15 2SS...lmfao!!! thx for the vid brother... and dam i hope mine dont go south anytime soon..
Didn't here the speaker test. How did it sound. And did your wife give you a special Thank You for repairing her speaker?

I typically fit my new speakers in the old mount with a little fabrication

I have no bass coming out my kickers
Great Video, Thanks....
Glad it was helpful!
I plan to screw the new 6x9 in from the bottom so as to not have to tear out the interior to access them
Nice video great details and very helpful.
Thanks for watching! And for the kind words. I’m glad this video helped you out. 👍🏻
Next time, check out soniceletronix. They have brackets that come with the speakers you order. Fit to your specific car as well.
Thanks for the tip. Hopefully it'll help out others that find this video. 👍
Hey boss, where did you get the adapter from? Bestbuy?
Thanks for watching! At the 1:01mark in the video I tell you where I got them. But I also state later in the video that Im not impressed with the quality which is why I didn't put a link in the description. ;)
Bad Luck Garage ahh that’s right. Thx again!
YES SIR!

Thanx a lot for this video ... 👍🏾
No problem! Glad it was helpful to you!
Bad Luck Garage .... its really helpful❤️... thanx bro

You never mentioned the difference in sound and if it made it better or worse
Well as I DID mention, the entire reason for this was because one speaker was completely fried and buzzing. So one could assume a set of new speakers would sound better than a fried buzzing speaker. 🤣

Thanks for watching and for the comment. Yea its a couple hour job. Not difficult if you're handy with the tools, but definitely time consuming.

They said, "Get a husky!" They said, It'll be fun!"
Your life isn't full w/o a Husky in it....my first had for over 17 years...now on #2
Looks like a real nightmare to me
It’s not that bad really. Just time consuming.
Should of went to Best Buy dude the ones at Best Buy are way better they are fatter so that it doesn’t rattle
Someone didn't watch the whole video. 😂
@@BadLuckGarage lol
Yeah ya say it’s that easy guys but my wife would be so fuckn pist to have her car tore apart for 2 weeks for speakers
Then order the parts you need in advance and get it done in a few hours. 😉
Wow .. seriously! Weeks to change speakers. Ridiculous design.

Do you know what is the purple cable in the back near the speakers for???
