The interview should do 2 things. 1. Don’t sit in front of a window as the light creates a fog/haze reducing the clarity 2. Prepare the questions in advance. Instead of urm and arrr 5 times trying to articulate the question, which are all very good questions when they finally asked and I’ve woken up, simply read the question from your notes. You know what you what to ask so formulate in advance. Otherwise superb video and the guest is super knowledgable.
I absolutely love Jerry his knowledge of body building and nutrition is incredible but the fact he was friends with Arnold and Franco and trained at Golds gym in the 70s is truly magic, he’s such an upbeat happy guy too and makes me laugh, especially the part about fat circulating in the body and going right back into the cells haha so funny, could see the interviewer wiping the laughter tears off his eyes 😅😅😅 lovely stuff guys
I love how he stays in the scope of his work. It’s true that A. Huberman sometimes goes outside of his expertise on certain subjects I’ve seen it many times.
Great interview... Very informative.. P.s. I do Intermittent fasting .. not cos I wanna burn fat . But to have better insulin sensitivity , better gut health.. it really helps.
wow jerry,,,,the information you have seems eternal,,,absolutely awsome,,please keep up informing us all..oh and if your reading this,,,have a great day
6:28 Huberman does mention this a number of times, fedoga damages the testis of mice when taken in large amounts! so jerry needs to do his research on that part
He rights on pre-workout.I drank a cup of black coffee and ate a grapefruit , and ran through my workouts .Now at 78 and with Barretts esophagus no acidic stuff for me.He knows his stuff.I've been doing this since 1965.

Thanks Jerry. I have to start taking pre workout again with citrulline etc. something is missing from last year and I remembered while listening I was taking Guerilla Mode Nitric. I tried all the other supps in your book after I bought it but lots of people claim beta alanine causes extreme itching.
In early 2000s i took creatine ethyl ester and anecdotally i looked more leaner harder in comparison to monohydrate. Unfortunately the shop stopped selling it. Now its so rare to find it or overpriced online.
I remember when Creatine blew up they always advocated taking it with Dextrose or a glass of grape juice. That was Creatine Monohydrate then EAS has Phospagain and it had minute amounts of dextrose in it. Great supplement.
I could talk to Jerry for ever about sports supplements. I witlrked in the business. EAS Sports published a book with all the ingredients on supplements and what their benefits . Please would like to know more about Mahung , ESA , Turaine . What supplements. Thanks Matthew for this super informative podcast.
A couple of years ago in the late 80s early 90s. LOL definitely seems not that long ago ha. If you eat a lot of red meat (Stan Efferding says the same thing) you may not need to supplement with Creatine. I do just in case but you don’t really need to load it if you are patient and take it long enough instead. I choose more of the tasteless creatine monohydrate. Much better than things like cell tech with a lot of sugar and additives.
Sometimes people that know the most R the ones that don't look one bit of what they preaching about or at least practicing it ,,,,I will b more inclined listening 2 Robby Robinson because he still practicing what he preaches n has the look of what he's preaching....Still I enjoy this video this guy has good points no disrespect 2him....✌🏼
When Jerry talks about weight training is that static lifting? What are the effects to ampk and mtor when you’re in a mixed workout (hiit with some form of weights)
I did notice *some* effect, as in "okey but not great", from tongkat, implying I guess, that my testlevels were in the lower range of what's considered normal priorly
Tongkat seems to slow down after about two weeks, test levels can change throughout the week you would have to see if it seems low constantly or from time to time. If you are on the low end but still in a good range then optimizing diet with foods that boost test and take tongkat on and off especially on high active days you should be good to go. Also any stress can also lower test if it's constant and over training.
I guess im wondering how im 48 years old started on trt 200mg cypinate every week for the last 9 months and my levels are in the 600-700 ng per dl range for 7 months, keep in mind when they first did my blood work and dicovered my testosterone was low at 236 ng per dl thats when my doctor put me on trt. After taking both tongkat ali and fadogia recentely had my blood work taken it was 1236ng per dl and my doctor was wondering what was going on that my testosterone levels were so high and that was over the course of 2 months of taking both suppliments as directed on the bottle along with my trt?
There are actual doctors in Europe injecting testosterone directly into the prostrate and curing prostrate cancer , and some are are using dht cream to treat prostrate cancer with great success, so much for the testosterone causing prostrate cancer hypotheses.
Idk if this is here or there but when I take creatine, I have to dial back the volume of my lifts. It gives me that "I can keep going and going" feeling but if I do that long enough, I begin to regress....unless, like I said, I lower the overall volume. Has anyone else experienced this?? Maybe there's a synergy type of effect from the creatine and my preworkout??
LEN BIAS WAS THE BASKETBALL PLAYER WHO DIED OF COCAINE. HE PLAYED AGAINST MICHAEL JORDAN IN COLLEGE AND SOME HAD HIM RANKED AS HIGH OR BETTER THAN MICHAEL JORDAN. HE WAS DRAFTED BY THE BOSTON CELTICS BUT NEVER SAW THE COURT BRUH...🤨🤨🤨
I don't agree with him on everything but when it comes to resistance training he's right on target. cardio could actually make your bones and muscles weaker
I love this interview but I have seen a few interviews like this one with various people. The interviewers always seem to wind up sounding really dejected and disappointed when they hear the realities of what they are being told.
Ask yourself this question. When you breath, your lungs expand and contract. So if your chest cavity is filled with excess fat how optimal is your breathing going to be?
OMG I used to be a genny pig for research and they gave me something with DMP and yes I had developed Cataracts and went almost blind and I have strength that was unbelievable made me very angry.. i hardly eat. Was ripped , bad tempered . It is still in fat burners like Dy…….
When you have a blood test done it should have an acceptable range listed that is used to cross reference the resultant. That is the case with many types of health blood tests. They know what the optimal range tolerances are, so use those to cross reference.

I love this guy, he's a genius
I love how he stays in the scope of his work. It’s true that A. Huberman sometimes goes outside of his expertise on certain subjects I’ve seen it many times.
Also his first 10 minutes of selling products . Definitely a salesman.
Love this dude.... a cornucopia of bodybuilding knowledge and wisdom. Straight up facts and real talk..... just so rare sadly in 2023
Thank you for pointing out the Huberman Problem.
He is very dangerous.
Jerry Brainum is well read and knowledgeable, and he delivers his insights in an excellent way.
Great interview... Very informative..

Really good video. Questions and Answers. Happy to subscribe.

Jerry is a walking 🚶♀️ encyclopedia of information...I saw him training at Golds gym Venice. He trains heavy , and high intensity
Wow!!..truly entertained by Jerry!..full of knowledge 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Just fantastic! Aside from the muscle and fitness know how, I was pretty kicked to learn about how the FDA came into being.

I'm one of those people that feels sick when I take creatine, thanks Jerry you changed the game for me bro!
What a Wealth of Knowledge.
Huberman always references studies though, and he usually specifically mentions when they were done on humans or animals.
Huberman is out of shape and his stack is a mile high.
@@Krunch2020 what does that have to do with OP's comment? Simply pointed out a minor inaccuracy in the video's commentary...
Huberman is gay and Jewish
This mans a god damn Saint. Love his passion and enthusiasm
We need to download this man’s brain in a series of three-hour long podcasts
Very informative interview

He just made the case for singles training, with the energy recoup system taking 2 to 3 minutes to replenish. Awesome
This guy is the real expert. He has nothing to gain unlike most of these podcast gurus.
Love that he calls out Haberman
He's the original GOAT 👊
Greatest Of All Time does not require the qualifier 'original'.

great interview. refreshing.
In early 2000s i took creatine ethyl ester and anecdotally i looked more leaner harder in comparison to monohydrate. Unfortunately the shop stopped selling it. Now its so rare to find it or overpriced online.
You never watched the video did you. Ethyl ester is converted directly to creatinine. Useless.
I remember when Creatine blew up they always advocated taking it with Dextrose or a glass of grape juice. That was Creatine Monohydrate then EAS has Phospagain and it had minute amounts of dextrose in it. Great supplement.

Is creatine safe if I've had kidney stones?
Interestin listen I just subscribed to both channels
Creatina makes me bloating but not creative Hcl which for me it is the best creatine out there is expensive but it worth
When Jerry talks about weight training is that static lifting? What are the effects to ampk and mtor when you’re in a mixed workout (hiit with some form of weights)
So should I just take caffeine pills before I work out instead of pre-workout?
I did notice *some* effect, as in "okey but not great", from tongkat, implying I guess, that my testlevels were in the lower range of what's considered normal priorly

It may be the most recent bloodwork was drawn close to pinning day vs the other times you checked your levels.
