    Gorgeous, thanks for sharing! Curious what frames is doing vs directly patching ansible into the Morph. Also, if you roll your finger slowly over the LED faders you may find that as a better approach vs using the FINE.

      thanks! the harmonic oscillator is really cool but it's big and i personally always felt like i wanted to use a filter with the harmonic output, which i used a lot, so that combination was a lot of space for a 104hp case. i would consider getting another for my studio if i ever decide to go back to a larger setup. mark verbos makes great stuff.

      second on Phil's suggestion - Chris Meyer's LearningModular site is great - you may want to pick up the new book: Patch & Tweak also. This may become the ultimate reference material for modular synthesis.

    Damned, I really love your work... no more varigate 8+ voltage block ? What was your thoughts on it ? Keep going, see you at the next vid !

    • @emilysprague6983
      @emilysprague6983  7 років тому +3

      MrYunsnare Thanks for listening :-) The Varigate was really awesome, but I personally didn't feel like I was getting a lot of use out of it. It can make really nice complex sequences which is cool, but you have to sort of program it with those little sliders which I never wanted to do. I use a lot of LFOs and modulation to keep my sequences interesting, which is the method I prefer. I also would only ever use the first and maybe second output on the Varigate. Felt like a lot of space for something I didn't really need. Now the only sequencer that I have is the ansible + monome grid , which feels perfect for the music that I am usually making with my modular, and gives me rack space for other things.

    • @Yunsnare
      @Yunsnare 7 років тому

      Emily Sprague thank you, I understand your point of view ! In fact, it's the voltage block that I found really nice but I really need quantizers !

    • @nkozi

  • @geargabbilly
    @geargabbilly 7 років тому

    It amazes me how you are able to change smoothly with new modules and get a consistent beautiful sound. With the Monome module and controllers is it easy to break from your programmed patch so you can improvise? And then are you able to get back to your programmed patch?

    • @emilysprague6983
      @emilysprague6983  7 років тому +2

      Bill McGuire Bill McGuire Thanks for listening! The monome controllers are very performance friendly and depending on what you have them controlling, the patch can definitely change quite a bit. As long as you remember what you're changing then you should be able to get back to what you originally had. There are also probability settings for every parameter so you can make it a bit randomized and take that approach too.

    • @VictorSteiner
      @VictorSteiner 6 років тому

      I also love the look of the monome and asked for the name, but the crazy thing is the price. It seems that it can do a lot more than a simple step sequencer, but the stupid thing is there is no thing that is as beautiful and only a step sequencer for a decent price :/
