Thank you for taking me back down memory lane. Places I visited in your lovely country when I was 24. Hard to believe I turned 60 last weekend. The time has flown by. Love the scenery and I adore the Shinkansen. Domo Arigato.
Yeah, I was there at the end of the 1990s, when I was adventurous and in my 20s. Now I'm almost 50, I think I'd almost be afraid to go there for fear of making a mistake. LOL Fascinating country!
There is something about the sounds at the stations, in the Shinkansen, announcements and chimes that make my heart flutter in excitement and anticipation of what adventures lie ahead. Hopefully someday I can experience those sounds again! In the meantime, thank you Shinichi for taking me with you!
I'm thoroughly satisfied with you going around Japan and showing us so many interesting places. It never stops fascinating me. Also, big yes to the sleeper car train. It sounds interesting!
I was so ready to watch 2 hours of footage. It’s a great way to wind down after a hectic day at work. I watch in bed all curled up under my doona It makes me feel relaxed, calm and ready for a good nights sleep
I think many people watch your channel to see different parts of Japan before they go, so don't feel bad that you aren't traveling the world right now. You are still showing people places they've never been that they may visit some day because of your videos.
This channel is my absolute favorite because of that. Visiting Japan is a lifelong dream of mine that will most likely never come true so I can at least live it second hand through these videos and my imagination
Those sounds! I get nostalgic whenever I hear them in any video. The little chimes and rumbling trains are so soothing and I adored those sounds when I visited.
I’ve taken Nozomi Tokyo Kobe several times. I’m glad your video shows how clean inside of Shinkansen trains, they are punctual on their timetables. And, I love how you describe what kind of trains passengers can eat or not. It is helpful info.
Ah I missed this vibe and all the sounds in station. I’ve been to Kyoto several times and I took My first Shinkansen at Kyoto to go Tokyo. It’s so comforting to see this scenery again.
Being a train enthusiast, I'd love to see and know more about that sleeper service, and also the first class Shinkansen. Hopefully one day I can get over to Japan and take a ride on these magnificent Shinkansen trains. Many thanks for the video!
I had the pleasure of a cumulative two months in Japan, mostly Tokyo, when I was in college, thanks to my parents. I miss the experience with every fiber of my being. Thank you for letting us tag along on your explorations.
It looks so clean & comfortable, and it's fast. i can see why the Shinkansen would be a favourite method of getting around. And thank you for showing us your travels around Japan, such a fascinating country.
Everything is so clean and functional in japan, it is the night and day between occidental and japan in comparison of clean and respect. I love 😍😍😍👍👍👍👏👏👏 japan and his people.
I love taking the train. You see so much more. I’ve also noticed stations in my hometown of Melbourne Australia have stations that are looking more and more like Japanese stations. Which I LOVE ❤️
Thanks for taking us along for the ride, Shinichi! Traveling anywhere with you is enjoyable. Yes, I'd love a video on the sleeping car train to compare sleeping cars in Japan with those I've experienced elsewhere. They've been fun and sometimes quirky. 😊
I got to take three trips via Shinkansen from the Shinagawa station: Hiroshima, Osaka and Hakata. Of the three, the trip to Hakata was my favorite because it was the longest (about 8 hours), and Fukuoka has these DELICIOUS sweet potato cakes I still miss 10 years later! Even though it can be more expensive than flying, I also prefer taking the Shinkansen because I love the sensation of "flying" at ground level.
I visited Japan in 2019. Loved riding the Shinkansen and the local trains and subways. We don’t have any passenger trains, except Amtrak, where I live so riding these trains was so exciting.
I do not normally like to watch window views but they way you did it with the captions made it interesting. I am looking forward to your trip around the world.
Thank you for the video! Honestly anything you do is interesting and fun, so do what makes you happy, and I know myself and your viewers will enjoy it immensely.
I love these videos of you travelling all over Japan! You give us such beautiful, scenic tours. Thank you for taking your time to make these videos for us :)
I love the Shinkansen, All the sounds of the Stations and trains are almost comforting. Mika Moo(my wife) and I went to Hakata to go to a owl cafe and watch Sumo bouts that were there, it was surreal to see sumo coming out of combini’s and acknowledge the little bow you would give them - pity in the stadium, the people didn’t respect people trying to watch. It was more like an Aussie Rules football game crowd standing up and blocking the view of the very quick bouts.
I really enjoy these videos! There are no means of transportation like this where I live, so these are always so enjoyable for me. I enjoy the atmosphere! I actually love going to the airport just so I can listen to passersby and the general chit-chat of people going from place to place. I wish we had trains, though. Thank you for uploading this, Shinichi!
Thank you for posting this beautiful video. It brings back my fond memories of visiting Japan three years back. I was in Kyoto and and visited several temples and shrines. Took this train ride to see beautiful Himeji castle. Waiting to visit again.
Was on this train - fantastic. Also got lost in downtown Tokyo - had to wait on a corner for someone to get me. It was 5 o'clock rush hour. No noise, no horns, no brakes, unbelievable the peace and quiet as the cars made their way out of downtown Tokyo. There wasn't a second I felt scared - not even a second!
First time in Japan 2013 first time shinkansen 2013 Kyoto - Hiroshima ! 2015 Kyoto - Okayama. 2017 Shin Osaka - Hakata and then other trains to Nagasaki and Kumamoto and Kagoshima , I enjoyed every ride and every trains. Please continue to go around Japan. My partner and I we are planning to go to Hakodate and then to Sapporo. When will that happen we don't know. And I have to stop in Kyoto because of the Ikenobo School of which I'm part.
Always a pleasure watching your videos. Kyoto Station was immense, the scenery from the Shinkansen 🚅 was stunning both the Rural and Urban areas and at such high speeds. Yes it Would be nice to see a sleeper train journey experience in the future from yourselves. If I get the opportunity to go to Japan , the Shinkansen is on the list. Looking forward to more videos. Arigato. 😀👍
Hello. Beautiful video! I felt like I was right there on the train. One of my big dreams is to be able to visit Japan, and now because of the pandemic I couldn't (apart from economics) but with your videos I can enjoy the trip and also the meals. It is a great comfort to my soul and I thank you very much. I always look forward to seeing your videos, they are wonderful. Greetings from Argentina.
I imagine the real experience is incomparable to a video on our screens, but I am thoroughly enjoying videos like yours. Japan has been one of my favourite countries since I was 15 when I really 'discovered' it, and I have become absolutely obsessed with it for about a year now; fortunately, the Internet has made it possible for me to see it without even going there -- and possibly showing me stuff I will never see, even when I do visit. Ideally, I'd like to spend 5-6 years there with my husband on unlimited budget, going up and down the country as we please, with additional visits later on, of course! That would be the dream. Hopefully one day soon!! For the time being, I am absolutely content watching your videos, and living vicariously through them. You are doing a great job, and the lack of talking on your part lets us immerse ourselves even more in the surrounding sounds. That being said, I would not be opposed to a narration if you are up for it. 😁
traveling by high-speed trains is often better if you factor in the time and effort to get to an airport and its security. not to mention, it's way more eco-friendly to go by trains. I visited Japan in 2019 right before the pandemic struck and was amazed by the convenience and experience on shinkansen. I only wish we could have high-speed trains in Australia.
I enjoyed that, thank you for the ride. These trains are so nice and quiet, I don't want the ride to end, I dont want to get off the train! I would want a job traveling on the train. Thank you again from South Carolina USA.
thank you for the video! it is through your videos that my revisiting japan dreams keeps getting fueled. i can’t wait for the day everyone can travel normally again 🙏
I went to Hokkaido in 2018 by shinkansen from Tokyo Station. It was 7 hours journey but very interesting, especially when it crosses the sea tunnel between two islands.
I enjoy watching your videos. Hope to visit Japan in the future and you have given me plenty of inspiration for the foods and trips that I want to experience. Thank you and Hello from Brisbane, Australia
I love the Shinkansen! Your video brought back great memories. I would love to see a video about the sleeper car and the first class Shinkansen! I hope you’re able to one day! Thank you, Shinichi!
Your videos are a refreshing way to experience a new place while homebond. I love to see the other countries but my favorite is the food you buy and eat. Thank you for the work you do! Yes to the Skinkansen 1st class and the sleeper car!
I miss the shinkansen. My last japan travel was december of 2019,right before the pandemic.used a train pass for 3 day back and forth shinkansen ride from hakata to go to hiroshima.it is depressing that we cant go back anytime soon until maybe nxt year. Until then, ive subscribed to your channel
This is very therapeutic. I miss traveling in Japan and the format you filmed this makes me feel like it is me that is traveling. Can't wait until it is safe to travel again.
I love all the videos you have put up traveling around Japan it is helping me plan for future trips when tourist travel is possible. Also yes I would love to see what a first class looks like and the sleeper train. I think those would be fun videos.
I have had a fascination with Asia in general since I was young but Japan is probably my favourite place of all. As others have commented here, it may seem odd but it's strangely comforting to just sit and almost feel I am there just going along for the ride. The smells, the sights and the familiar atmosphere of Japan all come back to me. I only wish I had visited more often before the world went mad.
Japan is such a beautiful country. I've been quite a few times and it never disappoints. Thank you for your channel and videos. Definitely yes to first class Shinkansen and Sleeper Train!
A very well-functioning train system. The only time, I have experienced a major breakdown (I have been three times to Japan, one of them 6-7 months) was back in July 2018, when it rained A LOT (like 400-600 mm on a single day), and we had to take the Shinkansen from Hakata to Tokyo. It was closed for 1½ days, while JR checked the tracks for faults, so we just had to wait in Hakata, while it was fixed.
Aaahhh, gods, I miss this country. Visited 5 times so far, can't wait to return. There's something magical about this country that just makes me want to return and explore some more. I admit, I mostly spend my time in the shinkansens reading or playing something.
My first time using the shinkansen I bought a ticket from a machine as I didn't have a Japan Rail Pass, however it did mean I had a journey on a Nozomi service as my first experience. Since then I've had a Japan Rail Pass where you can't use Nozomi or Mizuho services, but the Sakura shinkansen from Shin-Osaka to Hakata isn't much longer and is still very comfortable. When trolley service is running, the ice cream they have on Shinkansen services is amazing, highly recommended. If you are staying in Fukuoka for a while, I am looking forward to seeing places you go to eat, as I've been planning on returning to Fukuoka since before the pandemic (the only time I visited I was there for one day, and that wasn't long enough). Thanks for the video!
Arigato gozaimasu, i enjoy your vids and look forward to more . Hopefully i can come visit soon. Japan has so much to offer and so many places i wish to see. thank you for the ride aboard Shinkansen :) Po!
I am satisfied with you showing us around Japan because I plan on going to Japan one day with my best friend. I love going on trains, but am more into going on planes as I have loved planes since I was a little girl.
I felt like traveling w you in this video! Surreal, meaning this video is as real as can be. BUT I’d probably snoring away leaning against yr arm in real life 🤤😁 Arigatou for taking us with you on yr journeys around Japan 😘 I’m happy you’re traveling for us and share the experiences 🙏🏼
Thank u for the lovely trip! Yes for the sleeper train and first class shinkasen 😀 also if there are still cherry blossom would be nice if you can film them . 🙂
Nice video. I'm a big railfan, so I enjoy videos of train trips anywhere. I'd always take a train if I could but, unless you live in the Northeast US, there are no fast long distance trains here. I'd really like to see what it's like to travel first class on a Shinkasen and how the sleeper train looks and if it's really comfortable for an overnight trip. I'm surprised that they even have one sleeper train with most stations having hotels right in them. Makes it easy to break a trip and sleep in a comfortable bed. US Amtrak stations are really missing a bet not having all the food and stores in larger US stations. I imagine a lot of the mortgage cost is paid for from the rental of all those shops.
Here too in France, the train tend to be more expensive than the plane depending on where you live. To see my family I need to go to Paris then go to the South West of France. In train it's something between 100-150€ just one way. For the plane, the price can be as low as 30-50€ with a luggage (If you add the need to go to Paris, add 35€) and a plane take less than 1 hour, the TGV (our high speed train) take 4 and a half hour with often lost of strikes and delay.
I can't WAIT to travel there. I really hope they get moving on vaccinations and re-opening there boarder again for foreign travelers. I have a 2 week bucket list trip planned. And i really want and probably will take the bullet train from Shinjuku to Osaka. Then again i may even fly domestically we shall see. I think going from Haneda to Itami will be quicker then even any bullet train but that's just me. Great video showcasing the beauty of Japanese engineering at it's finest. And yes as other have mentioned one of THE BEST things i love about Japanese culture is just how clean they are as a nation. We could learn A LOT about that here in the US.
Shinichi, thanks for taking us on your train trip! I wish we had trains here in Okinawa. I'm planing on making some domestic trips this summer, maybe going to Hokaiddo for 6 weeks.
Take your time. The world and us can wait until you're ready for it, and yes, I'm really interested in Japan rn, so I really enjoy your videos. The first and last time I ever traveled out of my country was 10 years ago and it's still the best experience of my life, so don't hurry, everything at it's time.
Thank you very much bro! U r amazing. When I studied 7th standard i red the American bombing in the city's of heroshima and nagasaki. To day you will show me that city heroshima. I am so thrilled to see that city. Thank you Bro. I have a wonderful experience in this ride.bye.yours lovingly bujji mamidi from India and hradec pradesh visakhapatnam city.
Thank you for putting up these travel videos. I'm planning to save up to come to Japan in the future, and your videos make me feel like I'm actually there, getting a glimpse of what Japan actually looks like, and it's more amazing than I thought it'd be. I absolutely love your country, I'm hoping I'll come to visit it soon as the pandemic is over. Your food videos are particularly interesting. I'm vegetarian, so food is one of the most challenging things I anticipate to face in Japan 😆 Your channel has been incredibly helpful on that so thank you so much. Good work on travelling through Japan 👍🏻
I went to Japan in April 19 and it was truly the most wonderful place. I have been forutnate enough to travel to many places but Japan tops the list. It was great watching your video as the experience of taking the Shinkansen was one of the highlights! It was gerat to sit and eat a bento box full of delicious mystery food while watching the out the window. The people were so amazingly friendly and the food was incredible everywhere we went.
Thank you for taking me back down memory lane. Places I visited in your lovely country when I was 24. Hard to believe I turned 60 last weekend. The time has flown by. Love the scenery and I adore the Shinkansen. Domo Arigato.
I lived in Tokyo 1965--1967. It is like at 79 years old Japan has built itself into a brand new nation. I hope to return there in the Spring of 2023.
Yeah, I was there at the end of the 1990s, when I was adventurous and in my 20s. Now I'm almost 50, I think I'd almost be afraid to go there for fear of making a mistake. LOL Fascinating country!

I'm thoroughly satisfied with you going around Japan and showing us so many interesting places. It never stops fascinating me. Also, big yes to the sleeper car train. It sounds interesting!
I think the same as you😉 and you talk better english than me. So i take the chance to say "me too"😉👍.

I’d watch the entire thing like I was on the train. This channel is so peaceful and relaxing.

It makes me feel relaxed, calm and ready for a good nights sleep
@Snowboardingsky I would love to visit Japan one day. It’s on my bucket list.

I had the pleasure of a cumulative two months in Japan, mostly Tokyo, when I was in college, thanks to my parents. I miss the experience with every fiber of my being. Thank you for letting us tag along on your explorations.
This is one of the many reasons why i want to visit Japan, everything looks so peaceful and calm!
Even though I was asleep half the time, riding the Shinkansen is probably one of my fondest memories of Japan.
I loved the video thanks for sharing. train is my favourite travel method and I would love to travel to Japan some day ❤️

Miss Japan. Nice video. I traveled by Shinkansen from Nagoya to Tokyo few years ago.
The humming sound of the train has a relaxing feeling. and reminds me how Japan is so beautiful in the culture and nature.
5:55 I love this ☺️ It’s like crew of the plane or ship saying “We’ll be departing soon” I’m ready with my sparkling water!
Mr sparkle!!! Lets Talk why not?
I like videos like this. It makes me feel relaxed after a long day at work.
I love that Shinkansen rides are quiet, smooth, and relaxing. Definitely a must when visiting Japan. Take advantage of the rail pass!
I visited Japan in 2019. Loved riding the Shinkansen and the local trains and subways.
We don’t have any passenger trains, except Amtrak, where I live so riding these trains was so exciting.
Amazing train!! 😀😀🚂🚆🚊❤️❤️ Great video!!
I have two favorite modes of transportation: flying and train. ✈️✈️🚊🚊
Very enjoyable. Thank you for taking me along on your "train ride"! Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing!

Nice vídeo, amazing views along the trip
I love your videos and I know that no matter where you go you’ll put out the very best content , arigato kind sir!
Arigato gozaimasu, i enjoy your vids and look forward to more . Hopefully i can come visit
soon. Japan has so much to offer and so many places i wish to see. thank you for the ride
aboard Shinkansen :) Po!
I am satisfied with you showing us around Japan because I plan on going to Japan one day with my best friend. I love going on trains, but am more into going on planes as I have loved planes since I was a little girl.
I found this video to be super relaxing almost to the point I could've fallen asleep to the train sounds
Another lovely video.. It's like being there with you. Thanks for sharing. Can't wait for the next one 😉
Very nice journey . Felt I was travelling
Thank you for sharing your travels
Fabulous video, very relaxing and calm. Thanks for sharing the experience !!
I look forward to your videos, so relaxing and informative
Thank u for the lovely trip! Yes for the sleeper train and first class shinkasen 😀 also if there are still cherry blossom would be nice if you can film them . 🙂
It refreshes my memory of the trip traveling the same route and destination almost 25 years ago.
I’m here for Japan but I’ll be around for the rest of the world when that time comes. Thank you for taking us about with you 😊
Anything you do gets a like 👍from me. I have always been fascinated with Japan and Japanese culture. You bring them to my smartphone. Arigato.
My sentiments exactly. I sadly cannot afford to travel to Japan, but I’ve always been fascinated by the country too.
I mostly like the food videos but I'll watch anything on this channel
Very happy to see Japan through your eyes :) Thank you and keep safe.
I love your channel.
The trains in Japan are outstanding and are superior than the trains in the USA
Take your time. The world and us can wait until you're ready for it, and yes, I'm really interested in Japan rn, so I really enjoy your videos.
The first and last time I ever traveled out of my country was 10 years ago and it's still the best experience of my life, so don't hurry, everything at it's time.
...beautiful filmed , edited , great subtitles and explanations...よくやった 🚅💨🗾🤩😄😁
