It's so exciting seeing you progress through uni now because it makes me realise how the things I'm stressing about now are so fleeting, and I will get through it. I can't thank you enough for getting me through this awful period of my life, you're an absolute gem💖💖
I studied acting in Romania for 2 weeks and as an exercise our teacher made the Scottish students pair up with a Romanian/Hungarian students from the university there we were visiting and stare at each other without looking away for about 5 minutes with music playing. I didn’t know why but I was overwhelmed with emotion and started crying. The other student wiped away my tears, nothing uncomfortable or inappropriate, just genuine, natural and authentic human connection without saying a word. It was a very large group and I never got his name or saw him again. There was a picture that’s was taken during this and I get emotional even looking at it. Life is so busy/hectic and social interactions often feel constructed or forced so this experience will stay with me throughout my life.
I notice that I am always able to breathe a little lighter and be calmer after watching one of your videos, and this is really precious to me - so thank you Jade, for this little corner of the internet, like you always say. I always go on feeling a bit more optimistic, even when you don't even talk about those topics. Not that I don't like your content, I really do, but sometimes it is not even about that for me when I click on one of your videos. Just hearing you narrate whatever your doing in the video really brings me peace sometimes 🌟

I read a Rutger Bregman's book not long ago and absolutely loved it! Humankind: A Hopeful History. I don't know if you've heard of that one, but it's basically about how we strongly believe humans are by nature selfish, despite the fact that everything in science and history tends to show that people are actually almost always good. And how we could change the world and our perspective on humankind if we just stopped thinking everyone is self-interested. It really taught me a lot. I'd like to read Utopia for realists next.
I love it! I used to have really good night routine in high school, but now at university, I have classes all over the day and 3 times a week I come back home around 8:30 p.m. I can't focus and have a feeling that all I do during the day is survive and go to class, come back home, eat lunch, do only basic tasks, and again go to class...

Hey, best of luck with everything Nitya! I’m a college freshman from the US studying neuroscience and chemistry☺️ Cornell is a great school! Like you said, it’s very competitive and hard for anyone to get in - regardless of where they’re from or who they are… it’s not impossible though! My biggest advice is that there are so many great schools out there, so don’t put pressure on yourself that you have to get into a certain one. As long as you follow what you’re interested in and do your best, you’ll end up where you need to be… it sounds so cliche, but it’s true! Maybe others have had different experiences but those are my thoughts, if it helps😎
