      Must be worth a bob or two then!

      Britannica Restorations Ltd yes she's looking rather crusty underneath...so what's the number plate all about Mike? Its not a Quebec plate is it?
      Looks like an old uk one...

      Britannica Restorations Ltd I've just done a quick number plate check and it's from an old Land Rover what was exported in 2010 so I take it it's one you bought, is she still going?

      In a way it is a pity it didn't leak! Then it would have shown up quite well!

    Hi Mike, how much ATF did you put in the 4.0 v8 to get a good result? Looking forward to do the same thing in my discovery 2.
    Keep doing what you do and stay as you are! You LEGEND
    And thanks a lot for all your work
    Cheers Vincent

    Interested about the lifter noise that was cured by the ATF. Was the noise when the Disco was warming up and then disappeared?

    Out of interest would you ever recommend putting a very light engine oil instead of ATF in the gearbox?

    • @BritannicaRestorations
      @BritannicaRestorations  5 років тому +1

      I chatted with Dave Ashcroft about oils and what they recommend as LR was suggesting MTF which is like a light engine oil
      Anyway they suggest regular ATF is good enough for the LT77/R380
      However in my snowplough 2a I had I used 0w30 oil in the box as EP90 was too thick in winter - never had an issue - shifted great and didn't bust any bearings
      I recall back in the UK in my first Morris Minor, I put EP90 in the box and it would not shift - found out it needed regular engine oil

    Is ATF ok to use as a flush in diesel engines?

    • @BritannicaRestorations
      @BritannicaRestorations  4 роки тому +1

      Yes but do not drive with it in- make sure it is flushed with cheap diesel oil before filling with your good oil
