What is a Kuwanger?
In my opinion x4 has the best one, it has such a build up of energy with the narration of the boss. X4 is really a game with so much effort put into it.

As a kid, seeing their silhouettes with electricity zapping towards them always gave me the impression they were being powered up ready to fight. As an adult, have to say that the music used, even though short, definitely doesn't come across as intimidating but more challenging.

I find it funny how X6 just translated the names literally and kept all the funny portmanteaus and word corruptions that had been used for years in Japanese X. The X series has always been and still is my favorite. The logo and background combining in this was always badass to me, yet my favorite of these intro themes is X2.

It's a bit lazy, sure. But the fanfare kicks ass. And I love the names, actually, even if they make 0 sense
Nobody knows Infinity Mijinion is a water flea, unless they look it up.
The maverick names in X6 are mostly their Japanese names. A lot of the maverick names in Japan are puns or bastardized English words.
Here are a few examples:
- Chill Penguin is Icy Penguigo (Icy Penguin)
- Blast Hornet is Explose Horneck (Explosion/Explosive Hornet)
- Bubble Crab is Bubbly Crablos (Bubbly Crab)
- Burn Dinorex (Burn and a portmanteau of "dinosaur" and "tyrannosaurus rex")
- Blaze Heatnix (Blaze and a portmanteau of "heat" and "phoenix")
- Rainy Turtloid (Rainy and a portmanteau of "turtle" and "android" or "reploid")

These raise so many questions. Is the shark one a gamer? Does the clam say bazinga or whatever? And more importantly, wtf is a Mijinion?

A lot of people speculate that Metal Shark Player may be a mistranslation, and it's likely meant to be Metal Shark P(r)ayer, referring to his ability to resurrect Mavericks.
Infinity Mijinion, yeah, "Mijinion" doesn't make any sense unless you know Japanese. "Mijinion" is derived from "mijinko," which means daphnia (a water flea).
Shield Sheldon... I have no idea. I think it's just another case of wordplay (shell and the name Sheldon). When translating from Japanese, it could be alternatively romanized as "sherudan," which looks and sounds cooler than just plain old Sheldon.

Well you see the reason for the different names was the first English names for the Mega Man X5 Maverick bosses were based on members from Guns N' Roses because voice actress of Claire Redfield as a tribute for then-husband Erin Suzukk whose a fan of said band while second English names for them were to go along the Maverick naming convention seen in the first four X games and are more similar to their original Japanese names

I didn't realize, the difference between names in X5. I guess for the American market they named them all after guns and roses names, I much prefer the original names to "slash", "rose", and "Adler"
The American names are like that because the translators husband or bf at the time was a fan of GnR
Also not all of them are gnr, the 4 cannon mavericks and spike rosered are named after gnr
Soon as we get a Mega Man X Maverick name a Combat Wombat, one of us has to let the UA-camr Combat Wombat know about it so he can have something to be excited about.😉

The woman who was in charge to create the American version names was a guns'n' roses big fan, that's why those names are so different.

Nah. Redesigns for the PSP version of Megaman X called "Megaman: Maverick Hunter X". (And it goes incredibly hard. Better than the OG in my humble opinion. Especially with everything they added being a strong plus. Must recommend.)

It's a pun on panda and pandemonium. In X6 onwards, they started to lean towards the Japanese naming scheme for the Mavericks, which is more based on puns and corrupted English words.

Isso me faz pensar que mega man x n deveria ter saido da pixel art pois olha que magnifica as intro do 1 , 2 o 3 nem tanto mas ok . Saiu para o 2d pra mega man x 4 até que n ficou ruim e ai passou do 6 dos 3 d e só ficou ruim ( o primeiro boss que aparece a intro do mega man x 7 nem parece um boss)

Man, why is X7 so bad at everything it does? Besides the OST, that is the only good part.
Because it tried doing things it wasn't best suited for. At least for this series.

@@lpfan4491 It does when you compare how different it was to the previous games plus with X8 and other MM series that tackled an element X7 had i.e. 3D gameplay, voice acting, story, etc. One of the few good things it did was having you switch between hunters in game.
@@dnmstarsi It really doesn't. The only diffrent things are the 3D models(compared to 1-6) and a 3D gameplay-mode. Everything else is the exact same sh*t as the other games.
It doesn't even have a story that sets itself apart from other ones in a positive way, that was X6(though I guess nobody in the west would know with how badly that was translated).
@@lpfan4491 It really does. You may think it's the same shit but it's not. It tries to be a 3D game with some 2D gameplay into while paying homage to its past but poorly.
The weapons suck, X's armor sucks, the story in X7 focuses on a new character than X or Zero, the former of which QUITS being a Maverick Hunter so there IS story to set itself apart from the others.
So yeah, my points still hold. X7 tried to be new but failed which is why X8 went back to more familiar ground while having a 3D look but let's not make it a thing because we're both on the same boat about X7 being a failure.
