    ABOUT THE GOOD PLACE
From creator Michael Schur (“Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “Parks and Recreation” and “Master of None”) comes a unique comedy about what makes a good person. The show follows Eleanor Shellstrop (Kristen Bell, “House of Lies,” “Veronica Mars”), an ordinary woman who enters the afterlife, and thanks to some kind of error, is sent to the Good Place instead of the Bad Place (which is definitely where she belongs). While hiding in plain sight from Good Place Architect Michael (Ted Danson - “Cheers,” “CSI” - in an Emmy Award-nominated performance), she’s determined to shed her old way of living and earn her spot.

One thing that Brent lacked that Eleanor didn't was: Self-awareness.
For all her faults, she knew that she was a terrible person and that she had to become better.
Brent legitimately had no conception that he was ever a rotten person....

You can see Chidi's veins starting to throb when Brent insults Simone. It's also credit to Michael and Eleanor, who often fought with Chidi, and never pushed his buttons to make him that angry. Though to Eleanor's credit she always maintained that Chidi was a good person who deserved better.

They should have used the "better place" thing having Brent "accidentally" find out Chidi or someone else had higher points than him, like Tahani did in season 1 with Eleanor, that way he would have tried to gain more points, only to find out that he's going down instead of up, that way he would have to try and find out "secretly" why it was happening, which would get him to eventually discover/learn that his intentions count, and other stuff.

You can kind of see when Brent is tearing up after Tahani lays into him and he says “I accomplished something,” that he is genuinely hurt. Soulstealer56 I actually don’t even think he’s reached that level of clarity. he see’s all his accomplishments without the filter of how little he actually had to work for them and all the background connections and wealth that did the real heavy lifting, and therefore thinks that he’s genuinely extraordinarily talented and special because why else would life come to easy to him? He’s lashing out because this illusion is being shattered and he’s never had to deal with something he worked on (this time genuinely on his own) not being successful. His whole idea of himself is that “life is good to me , and that must be a sign that I’m above all others. I don’t need to work harder at anything because I already have all this proof that I’m perfect”

Something I am suspicious about, is that we never see The Point-System in Action.
We've seen after maths of it, ages ago, with 1 guy from a few centuries ago buying Rose's and getting +145 Points, and another guy from 2009 losing -4 Points, for the same task.
I know it's part of the rules that they can't see the Points of John, Brent, Simone, or Chidi, until the Test is Over (Though, I still can't see Why), but how do we Know that they are even getting Points?
The Point-System might be even more screwed up than we thought.
    Actually, something just dawned on me, while writing this;
The Point-System takes 2 Main-Things, into account; The Consequences of the Action, and the Motivation Behind it.
We have already seen the Point-System having gone overboard with the analysis of the Consequences, appearing to take literally every single Event that occurs after and because of the Event, into account, this why every single human is destined to The Bad Place.
However, we still haven't seen if the Motivations for People are also screwed up.
Similar to how Michael said he couldn't just wipe Simone from Chidi's memories, as memories were much more complex than that.
Memories are not Pictures, that you can just cut out the 1s with a certain person in it out, and you're good.
Memories are all blended together, like a milkshake; You can try and just take the banana out, but then you're going to find out you're taking a lot of raspberry too, and before you know it, it's all gone.
Every single milisecond that Chidi ever thought about Simone would have to be removed, otherwise Chidi would he wondering why he was thinking about her.
And, even if Michael managed to do it, and only remove Simone from Chidi's memories, there's still going to be a lot of gaps in his memories, that he's going to wonder about.
What if Motivations are much more complex than we originally thought, as well?

I appreciate that in the end, in order for him to change, he had to be told he DID belong in the Bad Place. Every time Brent is confronted with his flaws in the story, he always says that he can't have those flaws, because he's in the Good Place, and that justifies him acting the same way he did on Earth. When he's finally told he's in the Bad Place, and realizes he can't use the excuse of "being a good person" because it's been proven that he's NOT, he's finally forced to confront that he was awful, and in his last moments he calls Chidi is friend and tries to give a genuine apology for his actions.

Chidi ana...kendrick? (Had to reference one of my favourite lines lmao)
I think to solve the problem the squad needs to make them believe they are in the actual bad place like in the first season with the original 4, because if you believe you are in the good place then you believe you are a good person and see no reason to change your morals/actions, that's why it helped the og 4 (Elenor specifically). They realised what they were doing to others had an eternity of bad karma and decided to change, whereas these new characters believe that the way they acted on earth was morally and ethically correct and got them to the good place in the first place. Does this make sense? It would also show growth in Elenor, Jason, Tahani and Micheal (chidi if he remembers). It shows them as mentors to other people who need improvement in a way that could empathise with the new characters as they have been in their shoes
    Can't wait for Friday's episode💕

I feel like the issue with this last season is that its abit rushed. Brent was so bad that it feels like hes supposed to be on par with the old eleanor? Simone exists mostly for Brent's arc and her involvement in the experiment doesnt make sense because shes not really a "bad" person. I never even knew her bad trait was supposed to be being judgemental until they mentioned it because when she was alive, she was very decent as a person. Its also difficult to see Simone's bad trait when you have a character who proves her right everytime so I cant tell if shes "improving" or not.

Of course I've seen season 3 but this show is not like any other sitcom. What if they don't fix Brent, but they do fix the other three? I mean the fact that humans can improve doesn't imply that all humans are good and that the Bad Place would cease to exist. What if they prove that some people are capable of change and some just aren't? What if they are able to prove that the point system is forked up, they fix it, but some people (aka Brent) still don't make it into the Good Place? I know it sounds grim, but this show has always been thought-provoking and frankly I don't expect a happy ending, nor a neatly closed ending to be honest.
