- Update from Yvonne herself. After a violent fall with the horse, I ended up in a coma. With good help I woke up again. I'll show you how it went the first weeks.
Thanks to my husband Bauke❤️ and, among others, Rein Sr. and of course the people from the hospital, I'm still here. It could have turned out very differently.
I'll try to post another video later. This video is from June 21 to July 24, 2022.

My herd. As you call it yourself. Amazing what I got from you all. Postcards with presents, for example, but especially all those sweet thoughts. Which many of you have written down in a card. But also your experiences with a lot of things or how I helped you with my videos or just a normal day in life. Awesome!!! There are also a lot of comments on UA-cam, but also on Instagram and by mail. A GoFundMe has been set up and you have set up a Facebook page for me. Lots of great posts and lots of great comments. Working as an emergency doctor, there's just this extra dose of relief that comes with watching this video. I guess hearing you have little hope is already very scary, but seeing - and UNDERSTANDING the degree of what you went through terrifies me and impresses me even more, especially the way you woke up and recovered so quickly. It really was a nasty, nasty injury, and it blows me away that you came out of it with so "few" lingering effects. They are definitely not nice, but I shudder when I think of the worse, and even average scenario for a situation like this. I'm very very happy you're doing better! Rest and take your time. Things are sure to be different from now on, but I personally don't care if you post a video once a day or once a year. It's always a joy to hear from you, now even more so.

I am a retired rehab nurse. I specialized in traumatic brain injuries. I must say, it is such a good sign that your recovery has been so swift (may not seem that way to you and others who haven’t been around it). I assure you, you are doing amazingly well. As a radiologist, I completely agree with you, I am so happy Yvonne has made rapid improvement, and thankful for the wonderful rehab facility!! I was very worried at first, but I was happy you were wearing a helmet Yvonne!!!

Always good to read a comment from a professional. It’s more hope that she is doing amazingly well for what happened. As s lay person I thought the cons was her brain taking the time to heal. Hello Yvonne I am a black man from Atlanta GA and I just started watching your channel a few days ago. I believe God lead me to your channel. The Friesian horse has always been my favorite despite never owning one. While watching I immediately sensed something special about you. Then a few videos later I see that you've had a catastrophic accident. I'm in disbelieve how quickly the story changed as I'm watching such a healthy serene person do what they love one day and barely clinging to life the next. Again I believe I was lead to see your story for a reason, just as you are being lead to do what you do and go through what you do for good reasons. I have never been to Europe but I believe I will travel to the Netherlands one day and I look forward to visiting your stable. May God bless and keep you and your family, including the beautiful horses. And may He bless you to continue to shine your beautiful light out into the world. ✌🏾
How wonderful you found in just a few days why her human herd loves her. You are absolutely right that things happen for a reason and I'm sure Yvonne will eventually understand.

It's wonderful that you found this channel so soon after the accident, along with leaving kind words. I just wish you would stop leading with your colour. To many of us, we don care and frankly we're getting so sick and tired of all the racism on the Internet and in the world. You are obviously a good and very kind person being concerned for Yvonne's accident. So just remember, there are many in the world who pay no attention to our skins being different colours. It us what is in our hearts that matters. I do hope one day that you are able to visit Yvonne and see all the beautiful horses she helps care for. Stay well.

This is true for me too in Wisconsin.
I just want to recognize how disciplined and motivated Yvonne has been in her rehab. She was filming that last bit while she was walking-I get the feeling that she’s walking as much as she possibly can. Going to the riding school to have interesting experiences outside of a hospital setting is also so smart.
I’ve seen the opposite happen with patients with much less severe injuries than Yvonne. They get non-compliant with the physical therapy, then start to rot in bed, with minimal intellectual stimulation and zero physical activity. Yvonne’s speedy recovery is at least partly due to her own diligence in following treatment and staying active. Also, being in amazing physical shape as a horsewoman couldn’t have hurt.
Very true... Yvonne must be SO dedicated to following the program, in itself, not easy at all!!

Yvonne is highly motivated and has the support of a great family & friends. She also understands the need for rest. She understands this in her chosen profession, too which is why she is so effective with horses. I’m also thinking that the rehabilitation hospitals in the Netherlands offer more stimulation, including family visits with very young children, beautiful grounds & hippo therapy. There are a few such hospitals here in the US, but they tend to be in wealthy suburban areas.

As someone who also got a Care-flite from a horse wreck, I'm glad you are alive. I had multiple broken bones. Head injury, collapsed right lung, broken back 2 places, broken ribs both side, right shoulder AC separation. I was 57. I'm 64 now. It was a slow healing process. I was in bed 5.5 months. Couldn't move. Ugh. Baby steps. One day at a time.

@@yvonnedelft9765 thank you, dear. I'm as recovered as I can be. I'm not in great shape. I live with pain everyday but I don't let it stop me. I just get up and move. I'm.building my own tiny cabin now. The more I move the less I hurt.
As a former senior cardio-thoracic surgery high dependency nurse, I can truely say that you are a strong and remarkable women. Not many would have progressed so far so quickly.
Bauke and you family/friends are a credit to humanity and have no doubt aided your speedy recovery!

Whatever Rein Sr said on the phone to Frisian emergency services must have been conveyed with urgency and authority. They come in to an accident scene first .
As they thought Yvonne needed to have more specialised care , they asked for the Trauma Heli to get her there .

My own riding instructor also had a riding accident years back. She was in a coma 3 weeks and she was wearing a helmet when the hore's hoof came down on her head otherwise she may have been worse off. She's doing much better these days and still teaching and riding.

Hello Yvonne from Michigan, USA. I am a retired OT therapist. It is to God’s glory that you have recovered to this point. I have prayed for you many times. I want to tell you about someone I had as a patient. He had a stroke with a fair amount of damage to his brain. In the US a patient can only stay in rehab for so long, as much as Medicare or Insurance will allow. He went to an Assisted Living facility as he couldn’t go home because he wouldn’t be safe. My friend, the PT, stayed in touch with him and his family. It was nothing short of a miracle that about a year later he went home because he recovered ALL of his functions. So just know it takes nerves a very long time to heal. The brain is an amazing organ that can repair more than we know. God bless you and your family. Praying for you. 🤗🙏🙏🙏❤️🫂

My 12 year old coon hound had a stroke. His back end was paralyzed and his bawl was gone, but the very next day, he was on his feet and recovered his bawl. The next day he made it up 14 steps to my bedroom and surprised me by being in bed with me when I woke up. ❤
He is now completely recovered by the grace of God.

P.S. The moment Dex spoke for the first time, I was praying and declaring God is Absolutely Good. He looked at me like he knew, and tried to speak. It began as a whisper but soon became a howl. GOD IS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!

Every equestrian gets back into the barn/stables/field/paddock the moment they physically can. It's in our blood. Yvonne is a shining example of a true horsewoman and there's no doubt that she's one tough cookie. I instantly got a lump in my throat when her husband 2 little boys are by her side in the hospital. You know he was so scared, and holding it together for the boys.
But when he's sitting with Sr. and has her in the middle once she had regained consciousness (but was still foggy) he looked back at his girl with the electric blue eyes whom he loves to pieces........ It was too much. His voice broke and, boy howdy I started cry'n too. Thats that beautiful kind of love right there. Thank heavens you’re still here girl.
Oh hey. I know you definitely don’t remember the flight or anything. But that emergency helicopter you got to ride in is an Airbus H135, and they are pretty darned neat. I'm a nerd.

This made me smile (as I have tears in my eyes). So good to see you walking around.
You can't keep a horse lover from her horses. I, too, had a nasty fall off a horse years ago (tho not near as bad as hers) and as soon as I was able I was back in the saddle. It's almost therapeutic to get back on a horse (esp if its the horse that you fell from) and know that yes, you can ride again.
Indeed, it's not the horses fault.
When I was 4 1/2, my sister took me to see a pony on a green nearby. She had to go back in the house to find something and left me there saying: "Now don't touch the horsey or go near it's rear and I'll be back in a second.". So, being the curious little autistic person (late diagnosis) I was, I experimented in biology, animal psychology, physics and common sense and smacked the poor thing with a stick (well, twig)! It responded, not unreasonably, by kicking me in the head. I'm now 52 and have a horse shoe (as in not the hoof) imprint stretched across my skull. I still love equus of any breed....I was the idiot, not them ;D I also apologised later and they (the pony) seemed to take it well
I think being in good physical shape helps a lot.
With tears streaming down my face , the power of prayers ,faith ,love . I trained in a ICU , and I know . Victory is sweet . We all love you Yvonne.

So amazing how Bauke and the kids talked to you when you were in a coma. Also, how Rein G. cared for you in the hospital. You looked like a sleeping beauty. I admire your optimism and your strength to pull through. You are not only an inspiration, but also a role model for all of us 💜 What a coincidence a stable was nearby the rehab facility, I'm sure visiting the horses helped tremendously with recovery.

I just came back after seeing old videos I'd watched before about Rising Star in my suggestions, and found this news. This hits REALLY close to home. My mom died 6 years ago from a pasture injury when no one was nearby. I'm SO grateful that you survived this, and that you're on the road to recovery! You've always reminded me of my mom (of course... every woman who loves horses this much reminds me of her...).

Yes, he rode and now drives and breeds Friesians as I understand it. Is a realtor too. Yvonne is not just a rider, she is an expert in horse husbandry. Somewhere in her videos she rides a Friesian in tandem with a European breed designed for dressage exclusively. "Pas de?" I don't recall. If you watch the gaits of both horses, the versatility of the Friesian as an overall horse compared to a precision, one focus animal. And expert riding.

It is very humbling and an immense privilege to have your permission to watch what must be a very intimate and private situation for yourself and your family. Before I retired I was a radiographer specialising in CT and MRI scanning so I can appreciate just how traumatic it has been. I have been an OR Nurse for 4 decades and have seen all types of Neuro trauma and all I can say Yvonne is that you have a Guardian Angel sitting on your right shoulder!
It is amazing and a true testimony to the fact that Science was NOT the only responsible healing factor in your amazingly swift RECOVERY!
Somebody had plans for you young lady and decided that you, your wonderful family and beautiful horses had already touched the lives of so many people who needed you and your "Rx" (prescription) video's.
Especially with a job like mine a couple of your video's with the "Queen," Rising Star, the ponies and the rest of the four legged family is
" just what the doctor ordered" at the end of a hectic day to take away all of the stress! It works like magic with my own horses, Twister, Lacy and our resident miniature horse (Farabella) Charlie. They are always happy to see my husband Tony and me as we are to see them!
Take your whole Internet families advice when we are saying that you are doing unbelievably well! But don't push it, take all the time you should for a full recovery . . . and keep talking to us!

Last September 10, 2022 I died from a heart attack. 45 minutes of CPR from a bystander, ambulance and Hospital staff before remaining stable. 10 days in a medical coma, first 3 days of which with lowered body temperature.
Was not expected to have neurological function or leave the hospital.
But luckily thanks to everyone who took care of me, I walked out of the hospital after 6 1/2 weeks, after having triple bypass open heart surgery and having a dual chamber pacemaker/defibrillator implanted!👍
