    Just bought one and today after assembling it, I am calibrating it. This is my first table saw. I practised on my friends prior to purchasing and loved it. So now I have my own.
    I have already got an evolution 2800mm track saw and Evolution DB mitre saw. Brilliant tools.

    Karl, I've been far more used to using bigger more industrial type bed and cabinet saws and there are many excellent videos on them on UA-cam. This is the best video I've seen on smaller saws that the average woodworker would come into contact with. Excellent video well presented. 👋🤚👋

    Hi Karl, I've got the Dewalt table saw but I'm loving that sliding base. I use the Evolution sliding Mitre saw, and it's also a great bit of kit. Must confess the table saw scares the crap out of me, which is no bad thing.

    at 10:10 with regards to repeatable cuts. With the Rage 5S, you can use the additional fence as a stop block. For safety, fitting the shallow fence, so that the front of it is 3cm's before the blade (it works just like your piece of wood; however, due to it being more secure, it is less likely to get dragged/pulled into the saw). The shallow fence will extend beyond the measuring gauge but not pass the blade.

    Do you find that smaller fence attached to the large one useful, or is it just a hindrance?

    • @karlpopewoodcraft
      @karlpopewoodcraft  Рік тому

      Hi mate, I find the fence works well. You can easily remove it but it's recommended that it's fitted I believe under UK health and safety. It helps reduce kickback because it allows the wood to move once past the blade and reduces any potential binding.

    Hi Karl, I have just purchased the rage 5S and have noticed that the sliding table has some play in it. does yours? also there appears to be no information in adjusting this.
    Evolution have also produced a zero clearance plate for the blade that is aluminium with a plastic insert in it , a big improvement in cut quality.
