Even though I'm shooting at the glass, the atlas always dies before I can hijack it
I love how right after he gets in the mech, Bailey says "found a ride for you Shepard."
Little late there Bailey.
Easiest way, frankly, is on Grissom academy. When you're in the captured mech, the final enemy that comes is another Atlas, just shoot it in the windshield with your Atlas' primary gun and it'll shatter in one or two shots. hop out of your Atlas and steal the new one. Achievement Gained.
Interesting! Will give that a try.
@willemniet9416 did it worked?
@@user-mk4hp9ls2ryes, it works even on the easiest difficulty. Just one shot from the main mech weapon to the windshield🙂
I always do this and the atlas explodes before I enter, and it has half amor :(
+Victor Gabriel Bejerano Kant same with me I was trying it, reloading the game 3 times. I did it on N7 Cerberus fighter plane mission
Ur team mates must be shooting it
@@nishathnajumudeen2115 sent my dudes back and made sure they weren't shooting, its still exploded
Just tried today. Not every mech can be hijacked. There are specific mechs which can be. The one in From Ashes can be hijacked. Grissom Academy's last mech as well (usually you will already be given a mech when dealing with that thing, but get out and you can hijack that). Might be more later in the game. Just use a Sniper rifle and aim at glass and then the driver. If its hijackable mech will survive easily
@@sushanthadusumilli1067 your comment helped me get through that achievment, thank you.
For me, this is impossible so far... as soon as I shoot the guy in there, the whole thing explodes, even when still having half it's armor. Any tips?
+Anna Alētheia same with me I was trying it, reloading the game 3 times. I did it on N7 Cerberus fighter plane mission
Same thing 😶
Yeah I’ve been having the same problem with legendary edition
the fact that you can do this greatly pleases me, Ive had so much trouble with the ATLAS in the past and the game isnt even out yet
Definitely have to take out the shield first using whatever method you're the most comfortable with. After that, my Soldier's Viper sniper rifle alone wasn't getting the job done, you need to use something that packs a punch. After trading off the sniper shots with a couple lvl 3-4 Concussion Shots, finally got the glass to shatter well before the mech exploded.
@MrJ17J
I am really happy you said that, I almost scrolled down and the last three times I have done that I have found out about 3 differant deaths.
@twitticker2Me Left is control. Right is Destroy. Middle(if it's unlocked) is synthesize. Technically, the right(destroy) would be the paragon path. But it could also be the middle. You cannot be sure though because we don't actually get much information on what happens besides organics and synthetics fusing.
-gets in atlas-
bailey: i got a ride for you shepard an elavator
-arkward silence-
I've concluded that EA/Bioware is trolling me with this achievement. I've been trying to get it for years. I've tried every single weapon and nothing even shatters the glass unless its about to explode. 7 or 8 complete play throughs and this is the only missing achievement I'm missing.
If youre still trying, I found a solution.
Play through Grissom Academy, and near the end, you will get to kill an engineer next to an empty Atlas that you get to pilot. Get into that, and proceed. You will then be fighting Cerberus troops as the students try to board the shuttle to escape. The final enemy before the all clear is another Cerberus Atlas. Use the cannon (not the rocket) to shatter and kill the pilot. It will be much easier than using small arms. Once he's dead, get out of your Atlas and board his. You should get the achievement then.
Good luck!
Benedict Neoh this worked for me after failing to destroy the glass on the previous 2 in Grissom station. Thank you!
Finally some good stuff from ign
I just used 1 1/3 clips of black widow directly on the glass after taking down the shields (making sure companions didn't use powers) and it worked pretty well. If they attack it relentlessly you might have a problem though.
Damn. Was looking forward to it.
that maybe true, however passive stats from your skills and abilities usually have a specific weapon base dmg increase such as the vanguard and having to use a shotgun for the dmg effectiveness. for the most part it's not a requirement but the % of activating other small buffs can only be acquired by specific weapons.
Thank you! Have the platinum trophy for ME3 now :)
this game just keeps on getting cooler and cooller!
@Damarcast When I was playing, I considered the fact that if you pick control, the REAPERS are still here and can possibly make the same thing occur. Which is bad, obviously. Whatever, it's hard to see the good/bad choices with the little detail they gave us in the end.
I tried to do this at this point in the game - alas I was using that sniper riflfe that fires off 3 round in quick succession. I'm guessing it just didn't have the punch to get through the glass quickly enough. The Atlas was down to its final block of armour by the time the glass shattered.
This happens the first 2 times you encounter the Atlas. Try to hijack the Atlas in the cidatel mission the same way. It'll work.
I found a couple of empty new ones and hijacked them ... like they gift you one in the Jack mission... and another couple at the Cerberus base - just run up and you'll find an empty one parked at each side...
That's some very powerful glasses at 1:20 right there. You think they could have slapped that same material on some of those warships
pistol and sub machine gun were all i carried through the entire game and i never had a problem
Cannot wait for Tuesday!
It just keeps on blowing up ;o
@nomanners51 so the citadel was attacked by Cerberus, not very spoilery. They COULD show clips from the part were you fight the geth. If you've gotten to that part, you should know what I mean...
I never knew I could shoot a windows and get into a vehicle from a dead guy , thanks for the video helped me out ,
Oh, so THAT´s how you hijack an Atlas! I didn´t know it was possible to get them after a pilot has got inside!
@CReaper210
Control is the most paragon path (aside from synthesize).
Some of the most paragon concepts in the game include acknowledging geth as true life forms. Also, refusing the Salarian offer and curing the phage.
Control allows geth to live. The idea behind these ideas is really that no species should be wiped out against it's will, even to destroy the reapers. No one should have the power to say what species deserves to live and die. Destroy is red and control is blue for a reason.
I've had a problem with this. During the Ashes dlc, where you get Javik, there's an atlas I did this to. The option to get on appeared, but it wouldn't let me get in the mech, and there were still enemies left. Ima try this again though, want this trophy :P
@Frederic94 the first time i saw this, i thought it was the same planet from the demo, i should've looked closer. that's pretty crazy, even for Cerberus
Thats awesoem. Would be even cooler if you could do that in the multiplay section
@SentryBotGames quick question, if you choose the left path(Which is highlited in blue) dont you control or destroy the reapers, i went all paragon and thinking that the blue path is the good one i took that one. i grabed the controls and disenegrated, but at the end when joker crashes the normandy on what i belive is earth, is that shepard who climbs out of the ship with joker and EDI or is that Jacob.
This works perfectly in legendary edition thanks
@noobeable you can find it on the sur'kesh mission or buy it from the citadel
god damn this is the only mass effect achievement that's been a pain in the ass for me. the whole atlas blows up once i shoot the driver. even when the atlas still had like half its armor
How could I miss this??
its possible on all levels. The mantis should work without the AP mod (since the last health bar before the glass breaks is an armor bar), idk about the javelin though (its never worked for me)
I noticed that he shoots at a discolored portion in the bottom right of the Atlas windshield. I've always thought it was some kind of glare but if you look closely, its where the glass starts to crack.
@0banon i'm pretty sure it doesn't work in the demo, since i always aim for the glass and it never breaks
i did it on insanity on the same level as the guy in the video. i believe i used the valiant sniper and the crusader shotgun. My teammates were both down so i was able to just wittle away at the glass at my own pace i find that your teammates get in the way cause they kill the mech faster. My advice would be allow your teammates to die and then hide in the store on the side to the left of where the guy hides in the video and just keep hitting the glass and hiding.
@donatshabani I can say with confidence that it is very enjoyable...haven't you played the demo yet? Even though you don't unlock everything in the demo, it is enjoyable enough to play...and very addicting too. The Co-op (and yes, the MP is actually just co-op) is not so much like Gears of War...but more like a fast-paced PvP. If you have the right-minded people, mixed classes, and proper communication, it is actually quite fun.
@1226roby Have you played the previous games? There are really amazing games.
I agree its way easier than ME2 on Insanity! I just clocked it ! the hardest near impossible mission is the very last one, the very last enemy is a shielded marauder and to take him out is...well i leave u to find out
@Bloodyidit ehm yes they do? in the multiplayer the only atlas you encounter in singleplayer ends the demo anyway
@daftderek21
No; the Atlas instantly explodes in the demo if you take out the driver.
I have to say that I've tried this on Normal about 5 times over. Every time I try to snipe the pilot, the thing blows. I think my Mantis is level 2/3? Not entirely sure.
Do you need to be on a high difficulty to manage this?
I've yet to come to this part in insanity, but I was thinking for it just before I'll save, change to easy then do it, get the achievement and load back; that shouldn't affect the insanity achievement either hopefully!
@LucvdMortel wrong, 200% recharge speed with shotguns for vanguard.
Have yet to try this.
@kel413 Still not completely right. Shep doesn't die, but neither do the Reapers. Watch for the subtle hints and erreors which are rife during the scene after Harbinger shoots Shepard. There are many innacuracies that do not add up. Then, it shows Shepard "waking up" afterwards. Just some food for thought. It doesn't seem to be over yet.
@MrMike993 , Yup . I didn't think I was able to get any of the dlc's because it isn't properly "live" yet but I was successfully able to get From Ashes and the other in game content.
:)
So everytime I try to do this I break the glass with the atlas having enough hp to live about 3 or more shots but after I shot the drive in the head the whole mech just blows up
@MrPawsPause the sniper rifle is the best option for stealing an atlas hence why it was used.
@LucvdMortel Or you could remove the two of them, and stick with a light pistol. That way, you'll have a deadly close ranged weapon AND the ability to dash around like a spaz.
@liamx102 You can use a scoped heavy pistol as well
@SentryBotGames All of those deaths are preventable. But two of them are difficult to prevent.
I've never managed to get something like this, and I always aim for the head (or the glass).
@daftderek21 No, the glass doesn't break, as far as i've observed, the driver just dies
@xxxVendetta322xxx i am having the same issue i dunno if you can only do it if he remains over a certain health level? if it is too damaged it just explodes?
@kirbyza Kinda hard to scan planets when those Reapers come after you.
@Shaostoul I don't think Cerberus' model quite match the mech that made "fear itself" your ally. Hell, a single Elemental could probably drop the Cerberus Atlas without a sweat. :P
You can do it in the academy during mech vs mech fight.
@SentryBotGames Not really, considering Miranda can be saved, Tali can be saved, and Shepard can be saved. Considering you haven't been able to do that, UMAD?
@FalloutMajor nice, haven't noticed it's on the Citadel.
Destin, is sniping with much more effective than a sustained volley from an assault rifle? PS, still miss you on Hard News.
Cool, I wander if you will be able to do that in the multiplayer.
epic design flaw by Cerberus to cover the driver with 'glass'
@Zalijegamer I'll have to bring the Mantis on one mission to get this achievement and I'm a Vanguard. I would believe the loadout is mostly to obtain this.
Less weight actuly can help because of power recharge times. If you dont NEED the gun you dont take (for example i never take a shotgun and a submachine gun when playing on insanity because i never use them)
@Significantpower Well, I can wish for something awesome. :P But yeah, the amount of firepower in even the smallest of the mechs from Battletech would destroy any mech I've seen in any other game recently. Would love to see some footage of Naval PPC's destroying stuff again like the ending of Mechcommander.
was that colonel tigh from Battlestar Galactica @ 1:08 ?
@TheSurefireGamer
they should make the engineer be able to repair the atlas or something.
I NEED MORE ME3 VIDEOS!!!
Evertime I sniper the driver the whole atlas blows up
@WAZZZ32 it doesnt work in multiplayer unless they change it when the game comes out on the sixth.
So, the rifle's damage can't be too high, or it dies... and your squadmates can't shoot it or the same happens. Thx! Second most elusive achievement for me.
Fucking. Awesome. I didn't think that piloting an Atlas would be this cool. I can't wait! Only 17 and a half more hours...
@CReaper210 Also, the fact that whatever happened to TIM could also happen to Shepard himself. Which is also bad.
@devilsadvocate22289 I would assume no. There's a noticeable difference between the SP and MP Atlas, if you look at the cockpit in MP, you can't see the driver, its a solid color and non-transparent
I'm doing insanity now, and I'm SO not looking forward to the final battle... I know that's gonna drive me straight to insanity..
you can do this with a Javelin, Black Window, or, and I don't recommend this, the Widow too. DO NOT USE EXTENDED BARRELS THOUGH. I manged to three shot a atlas on Grissom Station on Insanity by accident.
Also, if you have the Saber Assault Rifle( also known as the DMR copy) you can also smash the cockpits glass as well, but you need Extended Barrel up to at least IV.
My damn squadmates always kill the damn thing before I can break the glass.
Lol wow they drivers face because like the hardest material in the mass effect universe. Trying to do this on grissom academy with the broken down mech that already has a broken window yet no matter how many sniper shots and rifle shots to his face the driver just refuses to die
@daftderek21 no they got the game early from when bioware launched mass effect 3's into the atmosphere.
Gunfight on the Presidium, fuck yes.
destroy the reapers, and the only way to do that is to reject tim(little boy) and get 5000+ asset points. whichcan only be achieved through playing a lot of multi-player and scanning everything. go towards the middle, which you will know if you have it if he says something about shepard having a good point of view or whatever. you blow up but somehow end up in a rubble, your teammates look for you and it shows a scene where you reach out of the rocks and start breathing.
One that has been using Garrus throughout the entire game, getting upgraded sniper rifles for him is a good idea?
@ 1226roby have u played it? It's incredible
DESTIN! I thought I recognized that voice!
biotic charge + shotgun blast through the windshield
i tried this at grimsson academy, after some hard time, i take a break and have some smoke, so i decide to switch to insanity, only equip pistol + let all my teammate died and finally taken over that atlas in one try like a boss ;)
To break the glass i use the put the settings on narrative, use the default pistol with a scope attachment to break the glass but when i kill the drive it blows up. Help?
@Delta438 I think it does I've tried a number of times with a rifle and broke the glass with 75% of the health left and as soon as i shoot the pilot it blows up on the spot
thats not such a bad idea bro but I cant afford to risk that insanity achievement lol Ima give it a shot and update you on whether it works or not cheers !
When will the review be up
@devilsadvocate22289 In the demo, i've sniped the pilot with the javelin sniper rifle you purchase from the veteran pack and i wanted to see how you get inside. And i got inside and started racking up points. But i didn't know troopers can throw you out.
On my soldier I only carried four guns, and on every other class I've played I've never gone beyond four. Too much weight means a longer cooldown and, for my soldier, SMGs pissed me off.
awsome! just got a mass effect 3 advertisement lol
Now that any class can use any weapon like the sniper rifle is the Infiltrator weaker now ???
