33:00 You could fix the fan as an exercise in how to do it. Remove the sticker, remove the split-washer or whatever holds the fan rotor in place, lift off fan, clean, lube, put it back together and it'll probably spin freely.
20:30 To check any 8-bit parallel ROM check the data pins. If there is activity and it is being read the data pins will be active and outputting data. To see if the other end (controlling device) is active check the address pins. If address pins are not active, whatever section of the board that accesses the ROM is not working. In this case that mobo is just stuffed and not worth the trouble heh!
Hi Richard, great vid as usual totally agree with you about old school oscilloscopes (maybe it's an age thing I'm 51 😂) I've got a digital one and it's great but somehow the reading on the CRT and less complexity of my 1980s Gould oscilloscope 'feels' better 😂😂
18:30 hi Richard. The digital oscilloscope's are able to store in memory the signal at the first trigger point . Analog oscilloscope are better good for aufio signals.
Hi Richard. You got it wrong about the reset pin, it is active low so it should normally be high (and you would probably miss the brief reset pulse). Output enable is also active low so it would also be high unless receiving an external signal. My guess is that the Northbridge chip is damaged, possibly by the attempt to insert the wrong memory module. I remember when a work colleague (and now one of my best friends) inserted a memory module incorrectly into a server, the memory slot was actually melted. He wasn't even authorised to do hardware work on the machine (or any machine, he was a programmer). Fortunately we never needed to use that slot otherwise it would have meant dismissal if it had been discovered.
I don't think I have noticed any difference in digital versus analog scopes for capturing transients. Though I am less experienced than you are. Definitely sample rate and speed make an immense difference. I never thought about it before but they might well be using different triggering mechanisms? You know, I'm gonna have to do some reading on this one. Fascinating thought though. Cheers! Though I am less experienced than you are.
4 RED leds = CPU normally so check the cpu check the power supply change cpu and power supply reset the bios.. or re-flash the bios.. if the board still not works then most likely the chipset this is for system 1 !!!!
So.... the PSU is a known good one, I replaced the cmos battery = reset the bios, and proved the CPU is not even accessing the BIOS. So yeah I did much the same thing really 😉
system 1 ... on off on off is ram training.. there you got no ram it can not train.. at times ram training can take up to 10 minutes !!!! the later noe boards did that kind of things... you wont hear beeps either when it ram trains !!! another thing it could indicate is trouble with the bios !!!
As others have mentioned. autoDUB is a new YT feature and I got selected as a beta tester - it also dubs into German, French and American. Your location/language is detected by your IP address as far as I know. Expect to find this feature on more channels in the near future
@@LearnElectronicsRepair I really hope its not detected by IP as that would make every English video i watch be auto dubbed to Swedish and 95% of what i watch on UA-cam is English videos i hope they go by Location and Language set in the settings i have these just set to English and United states to get rid of the auto translation of titles into Swedish
great video and educational. Good jokes too, lol

Hi Rich! I Did the translation! Someone isn't a Monday person, by the sound of it! 😊😊😊
That's for sure!

system 1 if bad clock change the xtals as they may be bad or leaky caps in the clock circuit

You could build a retro Fallout PC out of that rusty graphics card.

Thanks richard, cant speak spanish 😁
Heya, nice carboot not the best 1 do
Translation lol, I tend to go everyday, I think something is lost in my translation :)
I’d be disappointed if there wasn’t a knock on your door during the video.
Actually that sound with four knocks is something the cafe next door do with their coffee machine
@ I’d heard it before and assumed you had the door locked! Must be tapping the coffee grounds holder.
Why is this in Spanish?
@@hardyschlegel1048 Have clicked a translate icon ? It’s all in English originally.
Yes it was a utube issue thanks.
How Dirty do they need to get for you not fix them omg
I can’t believe that I paid 6000 lb back in the day for a therm cam, as in an investment for the future. I hate you Lewis😢.
“6000 lb”? Or do you mean £6000.
@ the latter.
Why is this dubbed in Spanish?
Ok must be a utube issue
It's a new feature from UA-cam.
