My wife Kristi and I have big things in store. But we're not sure if we're ready for what's coming. We'll be trekking two big trails in Peru, which will be major accomplishments. But something went wrong and we're not sure how it's going to go.
Good luck with your hiking trip Kristy!! Don't give in to group mentality and take your breaks when you need them! Thanks for the video, you guys rock!
I truly enjoyed getting to know you guys while in Peru. Hope to share an adventure with you again. Can't wait to see how the second half of your Peruvian expedition turned out.
a video about logistics and planning a hiking trip would be really useful. thanks for your work
If only Patagonia is just a mile away from Philippines, I'd be glad to join your journey. Keep safe and enjoy your travel great couple.
Hello from a fellow flagstaffian! My husband and I met 8 years ago working at Karma Sushi together!
Sending good vibes and good thoughts! By the time you see thees comments you will already be there so enjoy, be safe and happy trails!
I spent a few years living in Peru as a child and have always wanted to go back and hike to Machu Picchu. It is #1 on my bucket list! I'm really looking forward to watching your trip.
This makes me want to move to Arizona.
I’m so glad the 2 of you are hiking in Peru. I promise you & Kristi are so much better than you & Miranda or you & Dan Becker.😂
Y’all got this❤
Such a beautiful family. Congratulations!
Eric what hiking pants do you recommend that your pack doesn’t push down in the back? It seems to be an endless quest for me to find a pair
I though you will announce having a baby together! hahaha ups😅
Me too!!
Yep. I guess that is after Peru.
Same. Dixie and Taylor both announced pregnancies, and now I just keep expecting others.
@@Rab1dllama Yes they will probably have a girl...thats what I have since last year and im 39 lol😃
Dixie, Taylor Nahamsha, and Justin Outdoors are all having babies. Eric, you're falling behind! 😂 have a great time in Peru! And I hope your back is ok for the hiking, Kristy
Definitely keep the sunhats. They work like nothing else, whether hiking or gardening.
Fantastic video. Thank you for sharing. 👍722
Love you guys! I do want to say you should have your dog on a leash during the videos. It is a forest service rule, and while your pup is super chill, some folks are afraid of dogs on the trail. You are a public figure, and I know you want folks to do the right thing in the wilderness .
Wishing you a great trip in Peru !
Where did Kristy get her top layer shirt? The button up?
What an awesome hike to prepare for an even bigger adventure! I hope your Peruvian trip will be an experience you guys will never forget (in a good way). You really going to eat guinea pigs or was that a Nutria with an apple in its mouth? 😵💫
Kristy❤She’s such a beautiful and talented and inspiring woman!!
You are so beautiful together!!❤❤
You guys are awesome! This is a great setup to an amazing story, I’m sure.
What backpack are you using in this video?
If Kristy uses e-bird to log her birding on your trip, would it be possible to post her user info in from app so we can follow along? Love your content and to add a birder doubles the pleasure for sure.
Eric,, what was the name of the trail you hiked in this video
Love that honeymoon video too. Hope you’re having fun in Peru
Sedona is great we keep going back, lucky thing we live down in Mesa.
Great video. When is the November trip to Patagonia open for enrollment?
I have a similar injury and I can’t imagine a multi day hike right now. How do you avoid flexion while camping? Walking (for me) is good, but sitting and bending forward is awful. Maybe you heal faster than me! Best of luck in Peru!
If you’re still not out of pain after the trip, see the book Back Mechanic. I highly recommend it.
good luck on the trail , hang in there Kristy you got this , can't wait to watch the video of that hike.
As someone who deals with significant pain daily, I'm interested in coping methods she uses during this length of trail in Peru. I'm thinking of hiking a 67-mile trail over the coast range in Oregon, but the pain/distance is daunting...
Good to see Kristy recovering from the back pain. I can empathize after my first incident over 40 years ago and advise to keep up the PT forever after having lapsed into a second incident a decade later. I hope you're both having a wonderful trip.
Best wishes on your recovery, Kristy! I hope Peru goes well 🤗
Obsessed with her sun hat, would y’all mind sharing the brand? I am never without one but that looks very breathable which is helpful for an AZ summer. Thanks!
Yes!! I love this hat, it is from American Hat Makers “Freedom Hats”.
Where’s the info about Patagonia? I’m not seeing anything 😨
Hi Eric, are you using the Mystery Ranch Radix 57 in this video? I noticed you have shoulder straps that are more akin to running vests with water bottle storage up top, but unsure if that's from the mystery ranch radix 57 linked in the description. I'm on the hunt for a new backpack for summer adventures!
Great shots!
I was on this trail last weekend! I went up to the Proboscis arch and the windows. A little light scrambling. It was fun.
I do pt because I also have back issues and nerve pain! It's always nice to see others with the same struggles out there and thriving (not nice that she was hurt and has to deal with this obviously, just nice that she's been able to make it back out there).
I spent a month in Peru in 1989 and hiked a few days on the Inca Trail starting at Machu Pichu. It was gorgeous. I can't wait to see your journey. I've had four herniated disks to contend with in the last 20 years, and I use back braces now that I'm in my 60s. You probably don't need them given your young age. I find they are a big help to lengthen the time between pain flare-ups when I'm on my feet for extended periods. All my best.
Kristi, nerve block injections helped me stay relatively pain-free for nearly 15 years. I finally submitted to spine surgery last year, and I'm bouncing back quite well. Hoping you're conquering the pain and enjoying the trip!
as a fellow lower back disc issue person I am send you all the good vibes! you can do it! I did mine years ago in college and if you take care of it nothing is out of reach. I am planning a mount olympus summit
Good luck Kristy! Sending you healing thoughts ❤
I understand having a wife who is an artist! It’s a learning experience that improves your photography! Just got back from Escalante and thought about your hike with Devon. The BLM have cut a road from Spencer Flats that gets you closer to the Cosmic Ashtray. We hiked Horse Canyon and Little Death Hollow. When the snow clears we’ll go over to Ophir and look for your phone. Safe travels to you two!😀😀😀😀😀👍👍👍👍👍
Sending you all the strength Kristi! 🙌 And I feel for you at 10:05, ai ai ai Eric don´t do that! 😧
What wonderful family you have, Eric. I suffer from several herniations. For the lower back or SI, I do the 'backstroke swimmer starting position' stretch. I use the kitchen sink to grab on to. I also do the 'armadillo defense' pose. DO NOT go to a Chiro. Laparoscopic surgery is the fix but you need to find the right people to help you. Anyway, I am not a medical person. Hope your wife finds relief. Wishing you success in Peru.
KOVU!!!!!
feel her pain. I've had L4/L5 issues for over 20 years, and stretching when you start to feel the pain is key and taking time to let the muscles get less angry.
Ouchie Kristi! Sending good thoughts to you in Peru!
Peru is gorgeous! Sending positive vibes!!! I know first hand how hard it is to get back out there after a major injury. Super impressed! Keep getting out there listening to your body and enjoying life one step at a time!!! 💜💕🤩
So awesome, what a great trip. I know BOTH of you will do fantastic, great job training! 👏💪😎
Lmao no not the guinea pig power 😭💀
We’re so glad we found your channel! Loving the content. We met in Prescott and lived in Arizona for a while, we miss it!
Didn't see link to Patagonia trip??
have an amazing trip you two! Kristi you're a champ wishing you good thoughts!!
I'm doing the salkantay trail in September! Looking forward to the video!
Eric, sending good vibes to you guys in Peru! Wish I could have made the trek, but wasn't in the cards. I would love for you to do a guided trip in the states! Can't wait for the Peru Video! Blessings!
Hope Kristi stays on the mend for Peru. I love Sedona. So many fun hikes.
Happy hiking! :-)
I'm just here for the baby announcement.
Shocked to see the roasted guinea pig, which is an image I can't unsee. My pet guinea pig passed away in 2021. He was intelligent, affectionate, trusting & curious. He would run to us when we got home & purr when he got his favourite fruits. Hope you'd be more thoughtful towards animal lovers in future videos.
Great vid as always, can't wait to see the future Peru vids!
so sorry cuz i know ALL ABOUT back injuries. pintched nerves
