At the fort, the curved track with the bolts coming up from the floor, that was part of the cannon aiming system, that allowed it to turn the back of the cannon so that the opening could cover a wider range of field of fire. It was most likely a flat steel track that the back of the cannon could move on a wheel and be locked down in different positions. The outside cannon mount had the lock down mechanism still in place where the cannon had been mounted many years ago.
Todd you should have known that look in her face. Its a crazy wife, crazy life crabs an all . Fort George was scary. Tired Todd an shiela are out. Thanks for your maine adventure your adventures are challenging but hilarious. doers of all things !!!!!!!!!!!
Sheila is fearless going back into that fort in complete darkness!! Not to mention ocean kayaking - a big no no for me! I'd put Maine on my bucket list for all of the different lobster dishes and the beautiful surroundings. Poor Todd and the creepy crabs, he'll never live that down LOL C4YT!! :~P
We’ve lived in Maine all of our lives and we’ve never kayaked together Fort Gorges. Wow! Thank you for bringing it to us. Now my husband and I will have to go there
You guys are absolutely courageous. Well, at least Sheila is, thankfully Todd you have her to drag you along. What a experience you guys are sharing. Congrats!! Looks awesome
OMG, dead crab, another hysterical moment! 🤣 That fort was a bit creepy, I don't know that I would have been leading the way through that big dark room. Sheila you are pretty daring.
If you go back to Maine you should check out the abandoned railroad in the forest. Also Orono and Old Town have many little shops and restaurants that kept my daughters busy for hours just looking in the shops.
The 360 camera is confusing…Todd we can appreciate the waves! Lol Be careful, stay stay! The waves! Shelia LOL….my husband and I are sooooo loving this video in our backyard!
CRABS 2.0! Fun day! I think you were brave to go out with the waves. I have done 1 sea kayaking tour off Vancouver Island, but it was very sheltered. Did have major tides! Thanks for sharing all these parts of the US that I have never visited. Your journey is amazing. Keep up the good work! Even if there are crabs.
Be careful we have a nor’easter hitting NYS area tomorrow night into all day Tuesday, so I’m assuming your heading south maybe check out radar! Be safe ty video was great!
Love Fort Williams! The fog horn is sad and happy to us….it’s our state…we feel about our state probably how you feel about Kansas….come back for the snow….lol
Oh Todd, we have come to enjoy your whining at the beginning of an adventure and your agreement at the end that it was all worth it. But the definite highlight of this video was Sheila and the crab. Thanks for the entertainment and keep throwing crabs at Todd. lol
Narrow Gauge Railroad…lol…so loving this! You really are in our backyard! So wish we would of seen known….I know we aren’t patreon, but would of loved seeing this!
Wow! The crab really made Todd move. Certainly got him out of his boat, lol.
Odd how his old bones will move for a crab :-)
I think Sheila is trying to keep him worn out so he doesn't bounce off the walls like a kid hopped up on sugar and red dye.
Sheila's laugh + Todd freaking out = belly laughs every time!
Naughty Sheila putting crabs in Todd’s kayak. Playing like two kids 😃 Love you guys
So small and yet has so much power over Todd😂😂. 🦀 !!!!😂😂😂
Hey Todd, Get Your Crabs! It will be OK, Everything Will Be OK!!!! 😃 😃 😃

The semi circular marks are where flat iron tracks were so that the cannons could be pivoted on wheels to change the canons aim.
Good info thanks
Lol thanks for the laugh 😂 the fort is worth the trip.
It really is!
Cannon tracks are what those curved markings are from. The cannons road on them and pointed out the windows to shoot the cannon balls.
Ahhh thanks for that information!
Sorry for so many comments….just love that you are in our backyard
You have a beautiful backyard!
Oooh...can you imagine that fort at night.👻👻
Sheila's giggle makes me giggle!!
You guys are absolutely courageous. Well, at least Sheila is, thankfully Todd you have her to drag you along. What a experience you guys are sharing. Congrats!! Looks awesome

Beautiful places. Also, what was the song playing in the background throughout the video. Sounded very cool?
I’m with ya Todd. I feel your fright..

How was the coffee cake donut 🍩?
We are not a fan of the density of those donuts - we are more fond of light and fluffy donuts :-)
