I agree because the main thing I wanted with the first release of anakin was the evil head sculpt. But hopefully someone will get this figure and sell it on eBay or get and just sell the head for like 30$
I literally ordered the regular figure on eBay yesterday for $250 shipped. I log on today and see this lol. I like this one better but oh well. No double dipping for me. Hot Toys, thanks for bringing upon buyers remorse for thousands of your most loyal fans.

I honestly don’t care about that stupid droid platform base but missing out on the Sith face sculpt is a back breaker. If there was enough of an uproar, maybe they can be compelled to offer the sculpt for free of for a nominal price directly from Hot Toys. I know you’re pissed off but I think you should organize the legion for this.

I've been dropping off the Hot Toys wagon since they released Tarkin. I wasn't able to get a preorder in but was looking forward to that figure for a long time. I was heartbroken when I guess they released only 10 figures and sold out instantly. I refuse to pay the crazy after market price so I guess I won't be getting it.
to those who dont get why we are angry at Hot Toys, basically they hid this dark side figure from us, once first Anakin released then they pushed out this hidden figure as a surprise. you see how the first figure is now incomplete? its scam and cheating to those who bought first Anakin and who wanted Anakin for a long time. Its not about the price ok??? its about how Hot Toys kicked us the loyal fans in the nuts.
I’ve never purchased a hot toy (I just turned 18 a few months back) and I can’t afford anything really. I’ve dreamed of buying the perfect hot toy I’ve been watching every release and just marveling at the detail. This is one reason why I’m scared to buy one or start collecting them. I can’t just spend $250-500 on a figure that I know will get a better version later. I’ll just stick to pop funkos, at least I can afford those if I find them in the wild.
If you're like that, man really just stick to those, do not get into this hobby with financial issues, it'll be the death of you. I'm selling my collection now, I have a hot toys first order heavy gunner for 135 plus shipping if you want that, it's fairly cheap
Dude buy neca figures! They're great for kick starting your collection, the latest sculpts look fantastic as well. Honestly they're the best bang for your buck and great for starting out. I've been moving on to higher end figures like hot toys and I still pick up neca toys every now and then because I think they're That Good looking.

For me, this is an easy pass. He had the red eyes for like three seconds in the movie, So I see this is more of a gimmick then screen accurate. And I don’t really care about the stand. It’s just not different enough to have both and between the two I like the original release better. It’s basically another armored Batman issue like last year.
In general...either figure you get...you're missing things that should've been a one release with a deluxe..but they know they can make money in this guy

Why? cause they can. I called this as soon as they released the preorder for the regular one. They did the same thing with bvs armored batman last year, and I called that too. Always Think ahead and anticipate when buying a figure that looks incomplete. Because it a red flag and it’s not incomplete, they are just going to release another one. Do not collect anything that you sense is incomplete.
This is something I learned, you're very smart to catch that, I even listed these EXACT 2 things were missing...yet I bought the 1st, now...i quit, they can't play with my money I die to make every day
Sometimes you have to sacrifice in order to make out later on. Believe me it took a while for me to come to grips with it, but I think we all are trying our best to afford figures that are enevitably going up in prices. The fun is sucked out of it now so i would rather take the chance in anticipation of another down the road. If they don’t, oh well no big loss. Remember Dr. strange? $700? Really? Sideshow did this the first year they did Star Wars. They too released a regular version of Anakin only to turn around and do the "Sith" version for SDCC a couple months later.
I completely agree! I'm pretty much over Sideshow/Hot Toys. I bought the Premium Format R2-D2. Then they have the Legendary scale R2. Problem is, while the Legendary Scale is bigger, there's nothing special about it and yet it's $1,620 more than the Premium Format! The Legendary Scale has a more boring stand and the same LED light effects and the least they could have done is make it have sound effects. I also noticed inside the Premium Format one, they glued in two metal plates to give it weight to make it feel more "premium"! Otherwise it's just cheap, hollow plastic!
90 Lancaster The Legendary Scale R2 is actually $2,000! Ridiculous! I also forgot to mention on my previous post that it doesn't even have the pop out blue arms and the opening side panel with flip out computer access arm like the Premium Format version which is, I think $380. But I got a discount of 20% off the PF version which I think is still going on. I don't know anyone that bought the Legendary Scale one. Not for that price and lack of features for the extra cost.
They've not publicised this properly.What they are saying is early pre-orders have been placed for people going to SDCC to get this figure before it goes up for general release after the event.

Your 100% correct, and thanks for posting... I'm going to also post a rant video. Also look for other reviewers that say nothing negative about this.. You will find some larger reviewers exposed for being a hot toys mouthpiece, which is sad. Its bad business by hot toys.
Big reviewers are shut up by freebies, so I can't expect much from them, and same goes for all the other stuff in the world, if we don't say this, they'll keep us going and those big guys are spreading a word to discredit ppl like me, so I look crazy and too serious
EZCompany Collectibles its all good, I used to do rants and I've called out other big reviewers in the past. Nothing will change until the real truth gets out there and people wake up. Hot toys had this figure ready to go and yet they do this. Remember hot toys did offer standard and deluxe on fett 2 years ago, I guess they didn't make enough money that way so they now do this which is beyond inexcusable.

I have not purchased any version of Anakin yet. To be honest i'd just be happy with the first release. It would be great to have the sith eyed version too, but to me it's not a necessity. And you are right. HT is on a milking run. As they know people will bend then eventually break & buy this version too. I just need one version like most collectors. Not both.
I was just about to purchase a preorder on eBay but something told me “watch this video first”. Thank you, thank you for talking some sense into me. I LOVE Hot Toys but this was brutal. It’s so annoying they pull a money grab stunt like this. What was so hard about adding the sith head and panning droid to the previous release and call it the deluxe version? This is a chump move Hot Toys. Great review man.
Exact same thing I thought when I saw the figure. Basically 30 more dollars for a head. On top of that depending where u live, u have to pay for gas or plane tickets to get there and get a hotel. It's so much for so little.
I've already decided the IW figures are the end of the existing marvel characters for me. when a new character releases, sure. but I'm done rebuying the same figure with minor changes. I will laugh by butt off if they try to release a "new" vision for IW. exact same as AoU just a new base/box that I wont even display. I think Disney's business practices are infecting their licensees.
Exactly why I brought them in, I feel Disney has done something horrible to the whole genre, I'm leaving that picture alone, and moving far far away...in the close future

So sorry man, I thought it was supposed to be the AOTC Anakin (which would've been a far better offering), not the same bloody figure with some yellow eyes. It should've been originally offered as a deluxe version for $20 more with the sith head included. As for the release, I read somewhere that Sideshow plan to put this up for general sale/delivery soon(ish) after the Comic Con. This is a very easy pass.

I just watched a recut UA-cam version of the prequels combined into one film and damn it was way better than the last Jedi and way better than watching the cringe first prequel it makes them really fast paced and great. Anakins transformation was awesome
Welcome to the world of P-Bandai. Bandai releases Gunpla models which don't even have a normal release as P-Bandai exclusives. So we have to pay about twice the price for something that should be a normal release. So I feel your pain.
Sideshow did the same many years ago with Anakin, just like HTs. Their Luke can't really compete against the HTs unless they give you all of the different looks.
Its not just Hot Toys doing this either. Smaller scale figure companies like Figuarts are screwing around with their releases too. Less and less extras, more money, releasing the same figure again later with more extras so you can buy it again. But they used to PACK the figures with extras. And if you call them out on it, fan boys jump down your throats.
Yup, just like my recent comments, just stay true and don't let it down on you, keep at it, and if it was a matter of years and price went up...ok fine, but damn, this figure came to us not that long ago and here we are with almost 300 with shipping...yeah something is up, someone has the Disney itch
To be fair, it cost a LOT of money to have the rights to make Star Wars toys. Star Wars toys cost more to make than ANY other brand in ANY size. So the price hike is related to that. But if you have to do that, raise it a little more an make sure you keep packing the same quality, features and extras in so we don't feel like we're losing out while the price climbs.
See that's the difference, but they are capitalizing, it's business but when we start to get ripped off, I don't support that, they kicked us in the nuts
They likely see it as no different that a slightly different colour Clone Trooper that is essentially the same toy - or selling a dirt Sand Trooper and a Stormtrooper. Just as they perhaps think someone would want both - they might think someone might want a Jedi Anakin and a [first appearances] "Darth Vader" (technically). Maybe they are trying to leach more money from the existing customer base as unlike a few years ago (read pre-Disney era) some of these Premium toys are not selling so well now and get reduced to way under $100 in some cases. It likely makes more sense to be fair to your customers as if you get a bit cheeky with them they are going to be less likely to by the more obscure items and might suddenly get a bit picky. I felt the same about 1/6th Gi Joe - there was a potential there to do loads more - but at a high price point the market would support only so much. If they need to make extra profit then they can likely get away with clone troopers galore or other slight variations of existing designs (like dirty decos) - But if you get greedy then the more obscure Disney Wars "Troopers" might be left un-bought by some people. I'm not sure if I think that is taking the piss price wise more or less than Takara's 7-11 Optimus Prime for $180.00 though. - That is likely even more of a piss-take price and piss-take repaint. But these figures require a lot of work - so when they are done well you shouldn't fell "to" ripped off - perhaps the issue here is actually Pre-order culture ? (same as Videogames).
Always nice when that happens - I wasn't especially impressed (as a Transformers collector) when there would be different swords, guns, axes, hooks with the same Optimus Prime released over and over and each re-release got ever more expensive - when they were basically the same toys they released in 2009 released so many times now I've lost count (at least 9 times). So I can be sympathetic to the premise of thinking - this is the character - he has X number of weapons - can't we just have them all at once please ? Even worse when you are a primary 1/6th scale collector though as the unit cost is even higher - and at least when I buy the same Optimus multiple times I can put a jetpack on one - combine another with Jetfire and stick another in truck mode with a trailer on it. so the effect is different. But Anakin is - well Anakin (mostly). I'm not sure what your take would be on Gi Joe Snake Eyes and his endless outfits - and if he should get them or not or just have the uniform sold (that applies to any character who changes clothes a lot)
I mean this was dumb from them... years later it’s not the exact same but with 3 different releases for clone wars anakin is ridiculous. They know anakin is a popular figure and will make money and they are doing this every time with him. Yes I bought both lol, but.. still frustrating they are not released him as a DX but release every Darth Maul figure as a DX when he only needed 1.

Yeah this should have been a Deluxe Edition for sure. Personally Im not worried because he only had Sith eyes for like one scene in the film. (didn't even have them when fighting obi wan). Still a kick in the face from Hot Toys nevertheless!
I completely agree with you it's so F***ing dumb they should have just had these with the original or as you said the deluxe figure. I really love Anakin at the end of the movie its the best part to me but I live In another country so its about 4grand for me to get one of these.
I would get upset, but it's just a toy. Plus, Hot Toys had to pay 10 million dollars for the SW license. Frankly, am surprised they aren't milking it for even more loot. Like every other SW license holder does ... am looking at you, Hasbro.

Totally agree with you EZCompany. This is a cheese-dick move on Hot Toys part. When I saw this figure advertised last week, I was hot (no pun intended). This is an unnecessary double dip. If they were going to release two different versions of Anakin Skywalker, then what they should have done is release regular Anakin with interchangeable heads (normal and Sith) and the Mustafar droid as accessories. Then for a deluxe version, Hot Toys should have released a two pack consisting of regular Anakin and crippled Anakin (after Obi-Wan f**ks him up) complete with the missing arms and legs, and the charred skin. Kind of similar to the Alex Murphy/Robocop two pack. I will not be getting the figure, I've already ordered regular Anakin and only have one more payment. I'm very happy with getting just regular Anakin.
Buying and selling toys is not a hobby. You buy things from a company, a franchise make it more popular. In return they charge you more next time. It's just what capitalism is. Try looking at not so popular IP or may be make your own custom. Buying over price items just make you their livestock to be milk and exploited.

Totally BS on Hot Toys part.. also, love how you predicted what should have come with the original, however, Sideshow Collectibles did this 12 or so years ago, when they did the Lords of the Sith line Darth Vader (aka evil Anakin). I have that figure and it's basically the same as this, just with an older, less refined design and outdated painting techniques.
I agree. Hot toys is monopolizing because it has the largest audience due to their good quality which is not ok. If we do nothing then it will continue.

I know this is a terrible spit in the face by hot toys but this figure is absolutely awesome im sure you agree. Its an absolute must IF and only IF you didn’t get the first one. Maybe I could have skipped it cuz its the “right thing to do” but this figure is too good to be true with this head sculpt and accessories. I do of course agree tho that this is a shit move and its an absolute pass if you got the first one. In that case its absolutely not worth it.
Oh and I have to add that you are completely right saying this should have been deluxe. Would have gotten us much more for our money and made everyone happy.

As soon as I got that e-mail notification about this figure, I told my wife EVERYONE will be talking about this on the internet and they won't be happy!
I find it funny that this happened right off the heels of Sideshow (most likely from outside pressure) attempting to censor the hobby. However, I thought that in the past these usually go up for regular preorder after SDCC/Toy Fair. Pretty much giving people at the conventions first dibs. Regardless this should have been in a deluxe version for the first release. Personally I'd rather have Anakin represented as the light side version anyway, but this is very annoying. I'd like to see Hot Toys learn from Asmus and sell upgrade/accessory packs when they release 2nd/upgraded versions of figures.
I think hot toys are the best quality, but they are taking the piss with the way they do things sometimes and I agree you should get two heads etc like in the beginning they used to give you lots of extras. But now you usually get bugger all. Just look at the new yada. £30 dearer than the previous version and you get hardly anything. And the other one was too dear, and that came with a good base etc. Ahrrrr that's better :)
Just one question, and I'm not trying to be a smart ass, but why do so many collectors want this Anakin? I was under the impression that very few fans liked Haden as Anakin.

I had no problem with Hayden Christensen as Anakin in Revenge of the Sith. Having watched the amazing Clone Wars animated series, I have a newfound appreciation for the prequels especially Episode III which I have always enjoyed ever since it was released back in 2005. As a matter of fact, I never had a problem with Jake Lloyd for that matter. I never had the vitriol that other fans had towards a little kid whose only sin (if you even want to call it that) was taking directions from George Lucas. And despite the flaws that the prequels do have, I have no animosity towards George Lucas, I think the man is a genius. I'm even seriously considering purchasing the blu-ray box set of the first six movies. I've always held off in hopes that the original theatrical versions of the trilogy would be released on blu-ray.
HT releases a product however which way they want and can distribute it however which way they want. They don't owe you anything, and the fact that you think you're entitled to some kind of special treatment from HT already means you completely lost it. No one is holding a gun to your head. At the end of the day, HT makes highly priced luxury goods that is totally optional for your survival. You can piss on them all you want next time when they decide to sell high priced water during a natural disaster to gouge people. Until then, I find it hilarious to be pissed off at a toy company's distribution methods..lol

EZCompany Collectibles I am not a " heavy collector", but my HT collection is definitely in the 5 figures range. Also fans are created by the media. There's no chicken and the egg problem here. The media comes first, than the fans. It's never the other way around. Who is a SW fan before ever seeing SW? So without them fans will not exist is more like it. I understand the fraustation as a fan and a collector..we all want more for less. And we all want to be treated like we are special..keeping companies like HT alive. But we are not keeping HT alive. HT's competency is keeping them alive and you are actually just a fan of HT. HT just created a fan out of you because you appreciate their attention to detail. No sane person would pay 50 million for a piece of art or 400 dollars for some plastic iron man in the grand scheme of things.

Why would anyone want this figure? He didn't have sith eyes until he caught fire after losing his limbs. Unless they improved the tailoring of the robes or improved other important aspects, this figure is a waste of money!
Well for ppl like me, this is THE vader, this is the Darth vader, not anakin, and it should've been a switch out head, this is Darth vader, not the dark helmet and robes, with the voice, it represents the fall of a jedi into submission to the "dark side", so it was a hurtful release.

Neca did the same thing with the 4 pack TMNT movie figures and now you can only find them on Ebay for twice what they're worth.

Every good film they have ever made... aliens, Terminator, predator, Star Trek, blade runner and now Star Wars, all killed and ruined by these muppets running these companies who don't care as long as they are making money out of stupid people. It's all about the weakness of the memories of a human, why you think they brought back almost every damn level of movie back, it's what was there when we were younger, and once older, even if stupid, it'll be a little ring that brings us back in something we never thought we wanted, marketing at it's finest and money making craziness, consumers are what needs to be awakened, not the force.
So this is basically a $265 figure with a $1200 for shipping (plane ticket, hotel, food and SDCC entries). I live in Mexico so its very dissapointing or more like a slap in the face when you have to go to the after market and buy at scalping prices. HT promoting such practices but condemning unlicensed products, it doesnt seem fair to me, it seems more like they give a BS what customers have to put up with.

I honestly don’t care about that stupid droid platform base but missing out on the Sith face sculpt is a back breaker. If there was enough of an uproar, maybe they can be compelled to offer the sculpt for free of for a nominal price directly from Hot Toys. I’ve never purchased a hot toy (I just turned 18 a few months back) and I can’t afford anything really. I’ve dreamed of buying the perfect hot toy I’ve been watching every release and just marveling at the detail. This is one reason why I’m scared to buy one or start collecting them. I can’t just spend $250-500 on a figure that I know will get a better version later. I’ll just stick to pop funkos, at least I can afford those if I find them in the wild.

Dude buy neca figures! They're great for kick starting your collection, the latest sculpts look fantastic as well. Honestly they're the best bang for your buck and great for starting out. I've been moving on to higher end figures like hot toys and I still pick up neca toys every now and then because I think they're That Good looking.

For me, this is an easy pass. He had the red eyes for like three seconds in the movie, So I see this is more of a gimmick then screen accurate. And I don’t really care about the stand. It’s just not different enough to have both and between the two I like the original release better. It’s basically another armored Batman issue like last year.

Why? cause they can. I called this as soon as they released the preorder for the regular one. They did the same thing with bvs armored batman last year, and I called that too. Always Think ahead and anticipate when buying a figure that looks incomplete. Because it a red flag and it’s not incomplete, they are just going to release another one. Do not collect anything that you sense is incomplete.

Sometimes you have to sacrifice in order to make out later on. Believe me it took a while for me to come to grips with it, but I think we all are trying our best to afford figures that are enevitably going up in prices. The fun is sucked out of it now so i would rather take the chance in anticipation of another down the road. If they don’t, oh well no big loss.

Sideshow did this the first year they did Star Wars. They too released a regular version of Anakin only to turn around and do the "Sith" version for SDCC a couple months later.

I completely agree! I'm pretty much over Sideshow/Hot Toys. I bought the Premium Format R2-D2. Then they have the Legendary scale R2. Problem is, while the Legendary Scale is bigger, there's nothing special about it and yet it's $1,620 more than the Premium Format! The Legendary Scale has a more boring stand and the same LED light effects and the least they could have done is make it have sound effects. I also noticed inside the Premium Format one, they glued in two metal plates to give it weight to make it feel more "premium"! Otherwise it's just cheap, hollow plastic!
And the 1/6 r2 wasn't anything special! And it honestly felt like a hot wheels...im kinda going into Jurassic park...i like prime 1 has a blue 1/6 🤔🤔🤔

90 Lancaster The Legendary Scale R2 is actually $2,000! Ridiculous! I also forgot to mention on my previous post that it doesn't even have the pop out blue arms and the opening side panel with flip out computer access arm like the Premium Format version which is, I think $380. But I got a discount of 20% off the PF version which I think is still going on. I don't know anyone that bought the Legendary Scale one. Not for that price and lack of features for the extra cost.

Big reviewers are shut up by freebies, so I can't expect much from them, and same goes for all the other stuff in the world, if we don't say this, they'll keep us going and those big guys are spreading a word to discredit ppl like me, so I look crazy and too serious

Hot toys had this figure ready to go and yet they do this. Remember hot toys did offer standard and deluxe on fett 2 years ago, I guess they didn't make enough money that way so they now do this which is beyond inexcusable.

I have not purchased any version of Anakin yet. To be honest i'd just be happy with the first release. It would be great to have the sith eyed version too, but to me it's not a necessity. And you are right. HT is on a milking run. As they know people will bend then eventually break & buy this version too. I just need one version like most collectors. Not both.

I've already decided the IW figures are the end of the existing marvel characters for me. when a new character releases, sure. but I'm done rebuying the same figure with minor changes. I will laugh by butt off if they try to release a "new" vision for IW. exact same as AoU just a new base/box that I wont even display. I think Disney's business practices are infecting their licensees.

So sorry man, I thought it was supposed to be the AOTC Anakin (which would've been a far better offering), not the same bloody figure with some yellow eyes. It should've been originally offered as a deluxe version for $20 more with the sith head included. As for the release, I read somewhere that Sideshow plan to put this up for general sale/delivery soon(ish) after the Comic Con. This is a very easy pass.

I just watched a recut UA-cam version of the prequels combined into one film and damn it was way better than the last Jedi and way better than watching the cringe first prequel it makes them really fast paced and great. Anakins transformation was awesome

Its not just Hot Toys doing this either. Smaller scale figure companies like Figuarts are screwing around with their releases too. Less and less extras, more money, releasing the same figure again later with more extras so you can buy it again. But they used to PACK the figures with extras. And if you call them out on it, fan boys jump down your throats.

To be fair, it cost a LOT of money to have the rights to make Star Wars toys. Star Wars toys cost more to make than ANY other brand in ANY size. So the price hike is related to that. But if you have to do that, raise it a little more an make sure you keep packing the same quality, features and extras in so we don't feel like we're losing out while the price climbs.
See that's the difference, but they are capitalizing, it's business but when we start to get ripped off, I don't support that, they kicked us in the nuts
They likely see it as no different that a slightly different colour Clone Trooper that is essentially the same toy - or selling a dirt Sand Trooper and a Stormtrooper.
Just as they perhaps think someone would want both - they might think someone might want a Jedi Anakin and a [first appearances] "Darth Vader" (technically).
Maybe they are trying to leach more money from the existing customer base as unlike a few years ago (read pre-Disney era) some of these Premium toys are not selling so well now and get reduced to way under $100 in some cases.
It likely makes more sense to be fair to your customers as if you get a bit cheeky with them they are going to be less likely to by the more obscure items and might suddenly get a bit picky.
I felt the same about 1/6th Gi Joe - there was a potential there to do loads more - but at a high price point the market would support only so much. If they need to make extra profit then they can likely get away with clone troopers galore or other slight variations of existing designs (like dirty decos) - But if you get greedy then the more obscure Disney Wars "Troopers" might be left un-bought by some people.
I'm not sure if I think that is taking the piss price wise more or less than Takara's 7-11 Optimus Prime for $180.00 though. - That is likely even more of a piss-take price and piss-take repaint.
But these figures require a lot of work - so when they are done well you shouldn't fell "to" ripped off - perhaps the issue here is actually Pre-order culture ?

Always nice when that happens - I wasn't especially impressed (as a Transformers collector) when there would be different swords, guns, axes, hooks with the same Optimus Prime released over and over and each re-release got ever more expensive - when they were basically the same toys they released in 2009 released so many times now I've lost count (at least 9 times).
So I can be sympathetic to the premise of thinking - this is the character - he has X number of weapons - can't we just have them all at once please ?
Even worse when you are a primary 1/6th scale collector though as the unit cost is even higher - and at least when I buy the same Optimus multiple times I can put a jetpack on one - combine another with Jetfire and stick another in truck mode with a trailer on it. so the effect is different.
But Anakin is - well Anakin (mostly). I'm not sure what your take would be on Gi Joe Snake Eyes and his endless outfits - and if he should get them or not or just have the uniform sold (that applies to any character who changes clothes a lot)

Totally agree with you EZCompany. This is a cheese-dick move on Hot Toys part. When I saw this figure advertised last week, I was hot (no pun intended). This is an unnecessary double dip. If they were going to release two different versions of Anakin Skywalker, then what they should have done is release regular Anakin with interchangeable heads (normal and Sith) and the Mustafar droid as accessories. Then for a deluxe version, Hot Toys should have released a two pack consisting of regular Anakin and crippled Anakin (after Obi-Wan f**ks him up) complete with the missing arms and legs, and the charred skin. Kind of similar to the Alex Murphy/Robocop two pack.
I will not be getting the figure, I've already ordered regular Anakin and only have one more payment. I'm very happy with getting just regular Anakin.

You buy things from a company, a franchise make it more popular. In return they charge you more next time. It's just what capitalism is.
Try looking at not so popular IP or may be make your own custom. Buying over price items just make you their livestock to be milk and exploited.

Totally BS on Hot Toys part.. also, love how you predicted what should have come with the original, however, Sideshow Collectibles did this 12 or so years ago, when they did the Lords of the Sith line Darth Vader (aka evil Anakin). I have that figure and it's basically the same as this, just with an older, less refined design and outdated painting techniques.

I know this is a terrible spit in the face by hot toys but this figure is absolutely awesome im sure you agree. Its an absolute must IF and only IF you didn’t get the first one. Maybe I could have skipped it cuz its the “right thing to do” but this figure is too good to be true with this head sculpt and accessories. I do of course agree tho that this is a shit move and its an absolute pass if you got the first one. In that case its absolutely not worth it.
Oh and I have to add that you are completely right saying this should have been deluxe. Would have gotten us much more for our money and made everyone happy.

Ridiculous. Basically the same figure done twice, it’s extortion. All that’ll happen is that maybe he’ll sell out, but then he’ll sit on eBay cuz it’s only scalpers who’d be dumb enough to buy him. I agree, the spare sculpt and stand should have been included with the first release Anakin, as a $265 deluxe version. However, whoever makes a custom base like this has will make a crap ton of money. And add a little paint to his face and eyes after and everyone will have their own Sith Anakin.

I find it funny that this happened right off the heels of Sideshow (most likely from outside pressure) attempting to censor the hobby. However, I thought that in the past these usually go up for regular preorder after SDCC/Toy Fair. Pretty much giving people at the conventions first dibs. Regardless this should have been in a deluxe version for the first release. Personally I'd rather have Anakin represented as the light side version anyway, but this is very annoying. I'd like to see Hot Toys learn from Asmus and sell upgrade/accessory packs when they release 2nd/upgraded versions of figures.

I think hot toys are the best quality, but they are taking the piss with the way they do things sometimes and I agree you should get two heads etc like in the beginning they used to give you lots of extras. But now you usually get bugger all. Just look at the new yada. £30 dearer than the previous version and you get hardly anything. And the other one was too dear, and that came with a good base etc. Ahrrrr that's better :)

I had no problem with Hayden Christensen as Anakin in Revenge of the Sith. Having watched the amazing Clone Wars animated series, I have a newfound appreciation for the prequels especially Episode III which I have always enjoyed ever since it was released back in 2005. As a matter of fact, I never had a problem with Jake Lloyd for that matter. I never had the vitriol that other fans had towards a little kid whose only sin (if you even want to call it that) was taking directions from George Lucas. And despite the flaws that the prequels do have, I have no animosity towards George Lucas, I think the man is a genius. I'm even seriously considering purchasing the blu-ray box set of the first six movies. I've always held off in hopes that the original theatrical versions of the trilogy would be released on blu-ray.
In Attack of the Clones yes but he was better in Revenge of the Sith.

HT releases a product however which way they want and can distribute it however which way they want. They don't owe you anything, and the fact that you think you're entitled to some kind of special treatment from HT already means you completely lost it. No one is holding a gun to your head. At the end of the day, HT makes highly priced luxury goods that is totally optional for your survival. You can piss on them all you want next time when they decide to sell high priced water during a natural disaster to gouge people. Until then, I find it hilarious to be pissed off at a toy company's distribution methods..lol

EZCompany Collectibles I am not a " heavy collector", but my HT collection is definitely in the 5 figures range. Also fans are created by the media. There's no chicken and the egg problem here. The media comes first, than the fans. It's never the other way around. Who is a SW fan before ever seeing SW? So without them fans will not exist is more like it. I understand the fraustation as a fan and a collector..we all want more for less. And we all want to be treated like we are special..keeping companies like HT alive. But we are not keeping HT alive. HT's competency is keeping them alive and you are actually just a fan of HT. HT just created a fan out of you because you appreciate their attention to detail. No sane person would pay 50 million for a piece of art or 400 dollars for some plastic iron man in the grand scheme of things.

It's nothing new dude - I think the eyes could have easily been interchangeable with the 1st, or just two heads! This particular figure is ridiculous, THE LEAST they could have done was sculpt another head with an expression, just something different... Don't like the prequels anyway, this was the only figure I would have bought but ahhh fuck supporting that

Why would anyone want this figure? He didn't have sith eyes until he caught fire after losing his limbs. Unless they improved the tailoring of the robes or improved other important aspects, this figure is a waste of money!
Well for ppl like me, this is THE vader, this is the Darth vader, not anakin, and it should've been a switch out head, this is Darth vader, not the dark helmet and robes, with the voice, it represents the fall of a jedi into submission to the "dark side", so it was a hurtful release.
You're right, I stand corrected but they could have at least given some post dual accessories/prosthetics. I don't know, maybe I'm wrong..... but it is a dick move to make it a SDCC exclusive. Neca did the same thing with the 4 pack TMNT movie figures and now you can only find them on Ebay for twice what they're worth.

Every good film they have ever made... aliens, Terminator, predator, Star Trek, blade runner and now Star Wars, all killed and ruined by these muppets running these companies who don't care as long as they are making money out of stupid people. Ask yourself, why are they remaking old films, like Rambo for Christ sake? To busy making a quick buck out of what's been tried and tested rather than coming up with something new.... shame on all of you
It's all about the weakness of the memories of a human, why you think they brought back almost every damn level of movie back, it's what was there when we were younger, and once older, even if stupid, it'll be a little ring that brings us back in something we never thought we wanted, marketing at it's finest and money making craziness, consumers are what needs to be awakened, not the force.

So this is basically a $265 figure with a $1200 for shipping (plane ticket, hotel, food and SDCC entries). I live in Mexico so its very dissapointing or more like a slap in the face when you have to go to the after market and buy at scalping prices. HT promoting such practices but condemning unlicensed products, it doesnt seem fair to me, it seems more like they give a BS what customers have to put up with.
