Dave - Thank you so much for this video you posted. I had this problem - No vapor coming out of my Shark Genius ( Intelligent) Wet Mop - and I was clueless as to how to resolve this issue. I live in Ecuador and there was no one ( I tried at least at 10 different vacuum repair shops) who could repair this. Then I searched for videos in UA-cam and found your video. I also had another issue. I could not find the correct screw driver to open the outer case of the mop. Finally one Hardware shop had the correct screw driver - T10 with a hole in the middle of the six sided star. Thanks you, Thank you, Thank you ….. a million. I cannot thank you enough. God bless you.
Just tried this and it still wasn’t steaming, so I poured some white vinegar in the water compartment and left it switched on high for a few mins, there was a sudden burst of steam and it’s working perfectly. 👏🏼
Hi, sorry for the late reply as I have been away for work. The cord hook is a little fiddly to remove, if you look inside you will see a little lug that needs to be released after the screw is removed . Again quite fiddly. Hope this helps
thx for the vid., would have liked to see yours steam as well. For the life of me, I saw nothing in yours or mine that would prevent it from steaming?! very frustrating after purchasing my 2nd unit. the mop is glorius in theory, but DOES NOT LAST.
" Very frustrating after purchasing my 2nd unit. the mop is glorius in theory, but DOES NOT LAST." ... But why then did you buy another one after the first failed ? .. Shark ( SharkNinja Massachusets) Should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves . The units are not meant or designed to be repaired , in fact they do their damnest to make it almost impossible . They rely on you just buying another one and throwing another load of plastic waste on the tip when it could , and should , be repaired. Look at the UA-cam video " How to fix a steam mop " by electronicsNmore . It's a fantastic video of the testing and repair of a Bissell steam mop .Bissell another American company based in Walker Michigan , but one that could be easily repaired . The Shark mop shown here cannot be tested and repaired in the same manner . Every electrical connector is buried in glue and impossible to disconnect and test / replace in the same manner as the Bissell . I repeat , Mr Rosenweig & Co at Shark should be ashamed of themselves . . .And don't blame the Chinese who manufacture them for Shark . They manufacture exactly what the customer has designed and tells them to and if they're told to make it unserviceable then that is what they do . . . The answer is in our own hands . If we keep buying several from them instead of one , they'll keep designing them to be thrown away and not repaired . Meaning less work for American service centres and more for foreign assembly workers . . . Oh , and more of your hard earned money for Mr Rosenweig .
Ok so i actually managed to open it. Basically had to pry the 2 halves of the body apart until the red top came off. Not the best way to do it but it worked.
Okay so I feel stupid. My model didn’t have a latch, there were two screws holding it in place that I overlooked. Was able to get the case right off after that
Hi, it depends on what’s actually wrong with it to be honest. If it’s the same issues as mine then I don’t have an issue fixing it. If it’s not I wouldn’t take it on sorry.
I bought a shark steam mop and it has never worked. It won't put out any steam at all. I waited too long to open it and use it and it was too late to take it back. Is mine fixable?
Hi, my shark steam mop is currently not working. I wasn’t sure whether the problem was to do with this bit shown in your video, or just the bottom bit which is covered by the material. Currently when I switch it on in the state that your video shows with the bottom disconnected, there is a lot of heat but no steam. Does this suggest the problem is internal such as yours? Thanks in advance. Kelvin
Hi, yeah sound like the same problem as the video, the heater is working but water isn’t getting to the heater to generate the steam Try cleaning the filter and go from there. Hope that helps
Hello. Thanks for this video. The issue I have seems to be with the mop heads. When the head is disconnected steam comes out, however when the head is on, no steam comes out. Are your instructions still relevant in my case? Or should I do something with the mop head? If so, what? Thanks in advance!
Sounds like it’s still blocked as it’s surging for water to generate the steam, try so white vinegar in side the water chamber. Let it run in the sink until steam starts to come out then fill it back up with fresh water
hi.just saw your comment and i through i might help.i had the same problem and nothing helped until i've poured descaling solution with watter and completley forgot about it 😂 for about 2 days.but today switched it on and works like a charm
@@catalinamarcu442 , Thank you, I will try that before I throw it away. I did add straight white vinegar, has been in for a week, steamed once and died.
@@catalinamarcu442 , update, I added the descaling solution and waited until the next day and it didn’t work so I let it sit for 2 more days and today it steamed ! Yay, thank you so much.

Thanks for the comment, so glad you managed to get it working. The method in the video works for me every time, apologies it didn’t for you.
Just fixed mine thanks to your instructions 🙏 ☺️. Thank you 👍
Hi Dave managed to remove body but could you explain how to remove cord hook please
Yes, I have no idea how you did that.
I didn't notice the two silver screws on the backside of the hook.

Mine is leaking and dripping water. Steam seems to be ok.
Would you recommend to follow your video anyway?

Mine had gunk in the small filter, the water where I live is quite hard.
If you want I’m more than happy to take a look at your old unit ?

What are you doing when you insert the pick? I can’t get the top off to save my life.
Basically unlatching the lug that holds it in place, it’s quite fiddly to do and granted mines been off a few times so comes off easier now.
Having the same issue myself. Everything else came off relatively easy but i am completely stuck here
Ok so i actually managed to open it. Basically had to pry the 2 halves of the body apart until the red top came off. Not the best way to do it but it worked.
It is tight to do the first time, did cleaning the filter help fix your issue ?

I'll say yes...but, probably not with the info in this video

Same problem here too
You should clean the hot water heater
Thank you, will do that next time as we tend to have to clean this every 6 month or so
Worked for me thank you
Thanks you for the comment, glad it worked for you. Dosnt work for all but it’s great when it does 🙌🏻
I've followed the steps and now it's making a kind of chugging noise 🙃 any advice please? 😂

Great thank you will give it a try 😊
I would buy a new one before doing all that.
Haha fair enough
Actually I did try it but I didn’t have the right tools so done deal, I ordered a new Bissell steam mop! I also tried white vinegar, nothing worked.
