The absolute BEST tutorial on this by far. I couldn't figure out how to put the mop head on and looked at so many tutorials until I found yours. Yours was the ONLY one that showed how to put the head on the mop. Thank you! This was so concise and easy to watch. Wonderful!
I'm a bloke and obviously I didn't read the instruction manual and Ive had an earlier version of this cleaner for several years. lol..Thank you so much for showing me the quick and easy way of changing the pads and flipping it properly🤗 Shark should send you some free cleaning pads or a lovely bottle of wine for this excellent tutorial
I just bought this used from Mercari and came straight here to look for a review. You did a great job and now I feel confident to just start using it as soon as it arrives! So thank you 😊
I used my Shark mop for the first time today. I used this video for the setup and step-by-step instructions. This was an excellent how-to video, and it is an excellent and easy to use mop. Thank you.
I used my Shark steamer for the first time today. I had someone using it but I never saw them actually getting it ready. I watched your video and it made it so much easier than reading the manual. Thank you for sharing.
Excellent excellent review and how to, you were precise and showed how well to use this product, your the best I've seen so far when it comes to product reviews 😁 keep up the good work and thank you
I thought there was a swivel-action that allowed you to flip to the clean side of the pad. Thank you for showing how to do that in your video. I've had other steam mops and this one works very well. NOTE TO NEW STEAM MOP USERS: Use distilled water and don't put any essential oils, bleach, Lysol, etc. in the tank. It will clog the steam holes over time (been there, done that). I lightly spray my floors with a natural scent mixture before I use the mop. That works well for me.
From a single dad with two cats, a dog, squirrel and teenage daughter I can’t thank you enough. I was a little co fused on the way the mop head was to be laying on the floor
@@kalievesely3200 I like the fact with 3 passes up and down it's clean and disinfectEd I was about to buy a wet mop glad I didn't have tile floors basically
Since the pandemic, I have been cleaning my unit more frequently. I find myself referring back to this video before steam mopping. Not certain why I always put mopping off. The unit is easy to use and does a great job. Also, I lift the unit and vertically clean the base-boards and lower cabinets. Not sure what type of paint the owner used in the kitchen, but the cabinets get sticky and are hard to clean. The steam does a decent job : ) We always look over my work and think: "Wow! the kitchen floor looks great!"
@@pmsbroadnax good question. I would use some other way to get Mop and Glo on the floor. My preference is to keep the mop pad free of cleaning solutions.
Here's a link that may help. You may want to contact a local flooring supply company, just to be sure this is best for your floors. "Natural Stone Tile vs. Porcelain Tile - The Pros and Cons of Each" www.kbconstructionnj.com/natural-stone-tile-vs-porcelain/
Great instructional video! I bought this unit used from Amazon and it worked great about 4 or 5 times. Today, it heated up all right, but did not spray any steam onto the pad. Nothing different between last use and today and I can’t see anything wrong with it. Dismantled it and put the constituent parts back together. Using soft and “RO” (reverse osmosis filter) water and it looks like some water dribbled out, but no steam even though the internal element heated up. Any suggestions? Found it on sale again at Amazon and bought a new one with a decent return timeframe. But, if I can get the first one to work, I will have extra for our winter condo.
Good question! I have not yet had this problem and wonder if anyone else has easy idea. I did find what seems like a simple solution using a paperclip on this blog: www.hunker.com/13421671/how-to-fix-a-shark-steam-mop-that-wont-release-steam
Yes, by far. But don't take my word for it, buy one from a store that has a liberal return policy. If you're not thrilled with its performance, you can return it. I've used Shark mops with and without steam power blaster, both work great.
I finally found where I bought it - Home Depot! Try this link to see it on HDs website. Very inexpensive! www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-16-in-Wall-Mounted-White-Storage-Tool-Organizer-18026/202305469
@@lifehacksbylw I finally figured it out. There's a blue button that is facing me. I push it down and the plastic mop head opens up. From there it was easy to slip the cleaning pad on. I was trying to physically pry the plastic apart!
I highly recommend getting extra ones! You can wash them, but you will be surprised how much dirt they pick up. By having extra, you will be able to rotate them.
Hi I wanted to know when I’m using the mop and the side of the mop gets dirty I have to release the mob turn it to the clean side? Is that how your suppose to do it
At the 3:32 mark, I show how you release the mop pad and turn the mop to reload the pad and work with the clean side. Does that make sense? Let me know, if not.
Ok I see that the marketing is stating that the floor is cleaned using only water...but how? I understand that heat may take care of some of the bacteria but if steam and water werethe only thing that we needed to deep clean anything then there would never have been a need for disinfectant - we would have just steamed everything! So how do we actually know that this steam mop gets rid of bacteria that can come from say.....dog or cat accidents?
Getting the pad on the mop head is more difficult than you make it look! I've found it to be a bit of a faff but it probably gets easier the more you wash and use pads as the pockets will probably slacken a little. The jug doesn't fill up the water tank to the fill line, so you need about one-and-a-bit jug's worth of water. You're better off just using a bigger jug. I don't understand why Shark would supply a jug that doesn't hold enough water fill the tank up. Minor moan but I don't get it!
Do you know if it was previously treated with a product like Mop & Glo? Some products level a residue on the surface to give a floor "shine." So that's my best guess. 👌
Since the steam release area is very small, try cleaning according to the outline here: www.hunker.com/13421671/how-to-fix-a-shark-steam-mop-that-wont-release-steam It may be hard water?
With this version, flipping it over is just to enable the steam blast function. You have to go back to the original side for steam to release. That's why she removed the pad to use the other side.
