Stunning! Am going to attempt as I have a large wall to cover. Thank you for listing the supplies so you do not frustrate your viewers! And thanks for the follow up tips and encouragement- Excellent video- not blabby and showed us exactly how to do the project.
i am so excited to do this,,,,for a bathroom wall fix till i can remodel in spring i am using 2 photos of churches that i took in venice when there several years ago...i will decoupage my poster onto the wall but wanted a background that felt like an extension of the colors of the sea and teh beautiful colors in the Italian architecture.............this will be perfect...................thank you so much
This video inspired me to give it a go! Brilliant tips especially 'it looks worse before it gets better'. My wall looks amazing and I'm extremely critical of my own work. Thank you
Excellent job!!! I work at Lowe's in the paint department so I'm always buying the mistints!! I have SO many gallons of paint 🤣 I have parrots and I've been wanting to paint a jungle/forest mural on the walls for them. I love what you did and can't wait to give it a try.
Do you have any pics of your jungle walls or suggestions for colors? I'm trying to give my daughter a forest nook for her new room and this looks so much more like a forest than the mountain mural idea I was originally planning.
Your wall is so gorgeous!!! I appreciate the step by step instructions and encouragement that it may get ugly before it looks right. I would love to try this! Thanks for a great video.
Gorgeous! The word "dramatic" gets thrown around a lot to describe a room or piece of furniture but this wall is the definition of dramatic! It changes the entire feel of the room and is a piece of art. Just stunning. if it were in my house I'd sit and stare at it all day and night! I'd never get anything done. Who knew you could paint a wall and bring the romance back! LOL!
It did change the feel of the room, so it's been harder to get up in the morning, haha! It is so calm and cozy. Thanks once again for your kind words, Christie!
Beautiful wall! It inspired me to try my own. Like you stated, it did not turn out like yours, but I am still very pleased with the results. Thank you.
Pat, your beautiful eyes mirror that gorgeous smile. There is something very special about your countenance. Bravo on the lovely work - a really terrific result.
I’m sending my 16 year old daughter away for the weekend and I’m going to have the paint contractor do one wall like this for her. Love all your poster is so inspirational 🥀
Loved your video! I especially appreciated the details about leaving it and being able to come back later. This has been holding me back. I believe I can do it now! Have you done a starry night ceiling? Please adjust your lights so you are not standing in your own shadow for us and for you! Gracias!!
You had a beautiful outcome. I hope mine will be good at least 😅 I'm thinking of painting my walls, ombre sage green is the vision. Thanks for the warning 💚 "It gets ugly before it gets pretty." I hope mine gets pretty when I finish. 😊😊
Hello! I know this video is 2 years old and I am hoping you still answer questions! Your wall and encouragement are what inspired me to try this technique with my living room wall. I am in the middle of the project now but I was wondering if you also had trouble with the chip paint brushes losing the bristles as you worked and getting stuck on the wall? I got some from Home Depot and they are just terrible. I am constantly having to take bristles off the wall!
Yes, some chip brushes do shed. I try to pull the loose bristles before I wet the brush, but there is always some that come off as I paint. You can use other types of brushes with natural bristles. Chop the tips of the bristles with scissors and they will have the same texture as a chip brush. Good luck!
Such a great video. When did you start adding the blue? The very top and the very bottom are black and white and then did you add blue just on the brush while blending? I’m planning to do this as a the background and then add faded trees in black so wanted to make sure they come through. Thank you.
I like your rendering the best, ie, irregular cloud-like forms & transitions instead of the more linear approach I've seen. The details re blending are most helpful. I'm only surprised that you used "chip brushes" - I did some practicing using 12"x12" wallboard pieces that Lowe's sells, with skinny chip brushes (due to the small size). I found that the chip brushes kept shedding hairs while I was painting, plus left really streaky brushmarks. I suppose using more water will help that? I bought better brushes for when I do the real thing. 🙂 One question: how many times did you go over the wall after it had dried, to get the look you wanted? That might be an unanswerable question, especially if you only re-did sections. I'm going to be starting my wall in a couple days. Thanks for a really helpful tutorial.
Hi there. Thank you so much for this video. I would like to ask when you went in with the third color. The white cane down one third of the way, then the black came up one third, and then you blended them with the blue? I’m not sure about how to apply the blue. Thank you 🙏 😊
Hi! I blended the blue with the white on the top area then, with another brush, I blended the blue with the gray in the bottom area. I hope this answers your question!
I love this magical effect as well as your discussion but can you please tell me what should I as the store: I mean what kind of paint are these?? Any paint is OK! Or there is significant paint?
Hello, it's really helpful and beautiful video. My daughter likes the same way but different colours combinations. Can you help me for that pls? What spray are you using to get shed?
Hey beautiful absolutely beautiful lady ,ya that’s you I can tell you are an assume human being. I absolutely loved your Well the whole thing, I didn’t know if you was talking about the wall or life . I could tell you was a person of energy . Thanks for sharing your dreamy wall . Good job lady you are a great inspiration for women of the universe . Sharing is caring . Bless you lady .
Nice! I love the colors you chose. The wall looks beautiful! I wonder if you could do the glaze on a wall like you did on the french provincial dresser. Do you think it would turn out the same?
Thank you Lydia! I never tried glazing a wall. My only concern is that walls are very porous so it would be tricky to work with the glaze before it got completely sucked in. Maybe if you sealed it first, but I really can't say. Let me know if you try!
This is awesome. I’m going to attempt this! Pretty nervous😬. Also, I’m a little colorblind so I need to ask; are the other walls the same shade of white or should I go with a different shade? Any that you recommend?
Absolutely gorgeous but how did the pattern of your brush strokes 'disappear'? As in the end result looks gorgeously cloudy and blended but in the original closeup at the end of your first day it was so obviously brushed?
I love your painting effects, i think i'll going try but i hace a question for you, when you did this proyecto, did you try ti mover your brush un circles to try simulate clouds ir justo mone It un línea está? I,m sorry for muy bad english, thanks
Thank you for this video. I am about to do a large wall and am collecting techniques! Once the paint is dry, how long do you have to blend with the wet paintbrush? If you go back the next day, do you still only need water on the brush? If you need to add paint, how is this done?
The paint will dry fast on the wall and that’s ok. You will add new layers to it. I spray water both in my brush and the paint to thin it a little. I don’t spray wanted on the wall to avoid drips.
Love this wall! How big is your wall? I saw in another comment that you purchased 1 quart of paint for each color, I want to make sure to get enough. Also, I understand you used regular interior wall paint (thank you for providing the color names), what finish of paint did you use? Satin? Flat? And about how long did this take you? Thank you!
My wall is quite big, 13’ long. One quart of each color is more than enough, unless you’ll need to paint a first base coat of white ( necessary if your wall is dark now).
Amazing video, thanks for sharing Pat! Just a couple of questions: did you keep applying paint to your brush till the end or at some point you stopped wetting with paint and just continued with water? and if so, what colour did you add in the intersections? Also, I saw you had 2 brushes but 3 different paints. How does it work?
Thanks! In the areas I wanted to blend more I had much more water than paint in my brush. Sometimes only water to help with the blending. The transition color I used was blue, but I mixed it with white towards the top and with gray towards the bottom.
Can it be done on textured walls? I didn’t have time to look through all of the comments sorry. It looks like you have a lot of followers because of your talent so I will take your answer to heart. I’m waiting for your answer as I want to do a headboard but I really like this better. Thanks

Thanks and good luck!

I love this! The music is very peaceful as well. I’ll see how it goes.
I love your wall ! Before seeing this video I had all ready painted two walls and one little ceiling with sky and clouds.
Thanks! Wow, that must have been a lot of work!
Thanks Pat for the encouragement. It certainly was a lot of work but your wall turned out heavenly!!
Thanks Mary! I hope you do it in your beautiful home.

I just started my ombre wall in my bathroom and I'm now taking a break and watching your video. Thanks for the encouragement
I’m sure you did great!

Awesome, Pat!
Thanks Rico! So nice to see you here :)

The Wood Spa by Pat Rios Ok... yes it is very helpful. Thank you so much for this video and for your kind response. All the best to you 🥰
I love this magical effect as well as your discussion but can you please tell me what should I as the store: I mean what kind of paint are these?? Any paint is OK! Or there is significant paint?
Thank you! This is regular wall paint.
@@TheWoodSpabyPatRios many thanks for your quick reply😍
Very artistic style, very creative. I like your way of painting
Thank you so much 😀
I love this! thanks for sharing.
I love your way

Any water spray will work to wet your brushes. Good luck!

Amazing.... Excellent and simple the way you explain,
I will do it but I know I can't do it like you at the first But I do my best
Thank You...
Good luck!!
iTSSS PERFECT! THANK U
Beautifully done! Thanks for sharing :)
Do you recommend a paint conditioner/extender? Also, is the paint 'matt emulsion' (uk).
No need for paint conditioner/extender, and this is just regular water based wall paint. Good luck!
Beautiful
Thanks!
I love this ! Well done !
Gorgeous!

The Wood Spa by Pat Rios I think sealing it first is a great idea. I will definitely let you know. Thank you!
Excellent... love it... thanks 😊
Wow. This is a wonderful video. Amazingly done. Easy instructions!!!
Thanks Meagan! I happy you like it :)
Thanks for the tips... will master the technique and gonna do that for my content soon ! Thank you! :)
This is awesome. I’m going to attempt this! Pretty nervous😬.
Also, I’m a little colorblind so I need to ask; are the other walls the same shade of white or should I go with a different shade? Any that you recommend?
Thanks! It’s an off white by Behr. The name is New House White.
Awesome
Your smile❣️
You seem like the most amazing loving person in the world 😍😍🥰🥰
You are so sweet!
Absolutely gorgeous but how did the pattern of your brush strokes 'disappear'? As in the end result looks gorgeously cloudy and blended but in the original closeup at the end of your first day it was so obviously brushed?
The more you water your brush, the smoother it looks. From up close, I can still see some brush marks, but they don't bother me at all!
I love your painting effects, i think i'll going try but i hace a question for you, when you did this proyecto, did you try ti mover your brush un circles to try simulate clouds ir justo mone It un línea está?
I,m sorry for muy bad english, thanks
Thanks! No, I didn’t do circular movements but you can definitely do it. Some people do it and it looks beautiful.
@@TheWoodSpabyPatRios thanks so much, i,ll send the result.
Looks cool! Could you do one emulating an sky?
Thanks. I think this is the closest I can get to a cloudy sky. 😊
I love it!!!
Thanks Pat!

No, I used the quart.
Very nice

Could I do this over wallpaper as well? After i’ve whitened it?
I never tried, but I've seen people painting over wallpaper with no problems. Good luck!
is it possible to use this technique if I'm painting the wall over that special wallpaper that you can paint on?
Yes! Just make sure your base color is light.
I am really afraid of what it will look like, but I will test your advices tomorrow
Good luck!
How it going? 😁
thank you for this video!!
🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹 Thank you very much, Dear ARTIST! Wish ou to stay healthy and inspired!
How did you smooth out the edges when blending? It looks AMAZING!
Lots of water on my brush. 😊
Im an abstract painter. I wish I could obtain that sort of blending. It's not that simple.
Try a dry lamb’s wool mitt, almost like a dry brush to lift extra paint
That looks so nice! Thank you for sharing.. ''Right where's my brushes!!'' :-D
Thanks for this great content! ✨ ✔️ 🌹
You're welcome Holly!
Acrilic?
Regular wall paint. Acrylic also works.
Wow this is so gorgeous! I think I’m going to give this a shot! I was wondering though, how much did you purchase of each paint?
Thanks! One quart of each and there was a lot of leftovers. Good luck!
Why did you use latex paint, I'm not sure we have this in the UK
Chris, latex paint is the regular wall paint. I don't know how you call it in the UK, but I'm sure it is the same one.

I will. Any recommendations?

That looks more like watercolor than ombré.
I love it!!!!
Great job
