    This kinda helped me out to figure where the problem was when importing bought models to Rhino. But what if you have a lot of meshes ? Is there an easier way to relink multiple textures to the meshes ?

    Thanks for the effort but this doesnt work for me, I didn't get how did you know that for Object001 the dif map is Fabric8, it seems that you just know it, because there was no logic involved in that.

    how to do this on Mac? It has TextEdit instead of notepad and even when I set it to Plain Text format, it doesn't bring up the code, just file location so I can't edit the code. Thanks

    If i open it on my laptop the Obj has a texture but if i send it with mtl and png files for another laptop it hasn't the texture. How can i fix it ?

    Some folders do not have mtl files and some do not have map images. How do I solve this?

      you need for find the images and create you new .mtl file
      by the way I recommend you to use any 3d model program for this.

      just create it by changing the notepad's ".txt" extension to ".mtl"

    I created a face (my face) in blender using facebuilder
    I have the textures for the whole face and I applied perfectly
    But iam not satisfied with the flat texture I need some bumps on my face like real
    So Now I need nee the height map so i grey scaled my texture and putted to the bump map it looks pretty good
    When I render it looks real as like iam in the screen
    But the problem is when I export it as .obj ... The obj file doesn't have the bump texture ... It hase only the flat texture when I opened MTL file using notepad++ it shows the map_kd but there is no map_bump
    Plz help me

      @@TutorialsUp yes I added map_Bump filename.png it worked but some of the modification I did in the bump is not working it simply applies the bump textures to the model but in blender I have inverted the bumb and adjusted the distance ... But these settings are not applied while typing map_Bump

      Actually, I forgot that for a while.😋 but after "universal importer" lunch I don't think that method can be useful. because "universal importer" done that jobe wonderfully.

      @@TutorialsUp Well, OBJ has the huge advantage of storing data about quad topology. That's why sometimes OBJ importer/exporter that comes with QuadFace Tools is better than Universal Importer (which is more versatile in general but unfortunately won't import quads, even with OBJ). QFT importer however tends to lose textures. So none of importers does the job 100% right in all cases. In my opinion then, every manual method involed with OBJ format is worth attention ;)

      @@TutorialsUp Yes I used your method and it worked! :D So I'm curious whether there are more manual methods that would work for other formats too.
