    Love the go-kart looks nice. But I 2 agree the frame is over priced and most of us can't afford it, because I was going to get one.
    Keep up the killer video's

    FYI... if you take the 3 inch spacers down to 2 inches on each front wheel or slide the rear wheels out further on the axles, the front tires will bite more in the turns and help the maneuverability of live axle go karts. I used to race go karts. It's a small change with big results!

      The good thing about the gps apps is they work even if the phone dosent have service. So you can use an old phone and not worry about dropping it.

    $600 for a bare frame? Actually $500 + $450 shipping... That’s $950 just for a hunk of metal that even when built nicely like yours (around $2,300 total), has an uncomfortable seating position, horrible understeer and I’m assuming bad bump steer as well. It’s an old school yard Kart for the same price as a fairly modern used racing kart. There’s no reason to buy and build this GoKart when you can buy a nice TAG or Shifter racing GoKart for the same price on Craigslist. This GoKart just doesn’t make sense. Maybe if it was like $750 fully assembled with a stock predator and only $200 for shipping... But that will never happen because it’s not mass produced and never will be again. I love your videos, I’m just being reasonable about this. It’s made in the USA and yada-yada, bottom line is they’re not going to sell.🤷🏼‍♂️ Buy a new GoKart from a good supplier in China, they’re pretty nice! They’re not cheap because they’re cheaply made, they’re cheap for us due to the transfer of currency between the US and China.

    Nice clone of an American classic go-kart 600 pretty steep price for go-kart that sold for a couple hundred bucks when it was first introduced in the 70s isn't that frame already patented here in the United States

    Good Job! Best build yet! Beyond just a great product, I can see a yard-kart class at local dirt-tracks for the these frames with a spec motor and tires as an inexpensive way to get into racing.

  • @silentdeath9237
    @silentdeath9237 7 років тому +5

    Forget the kill switch make it nos button! Lol
    You should try a all out performance build and balance the engine to see how many rpm you could get and run on a dyno to see how many hp it can produce. Beings they have two oil drains I thought of using one to add oil filter and the low oil sensor hole to make a lubrication squirter also an oil cooler could be added.

    • @RedBeardsGarage
      @RedBeardsGarage  7 років тому

      They have no oil pump on the engines. If I had a charging system I could. The button was actually for nos lol. Later video

    • @silentdeath9237
      @silentdeath9237 7 років тому

      Red Beard's Garage I know they don't have an oil pump what I have in mind is a belt driven pump from crankshaft it doesn't need to be really big and not a lot of pressure just needs to circulate oil through a filter and oil cooler. I also was looking at using an old ford v8 smog pump for belt driven supercharger I believe it should pump air fast enough to create a little pressure.

It looks vintage, possibly from an amusement park. Anyway, it looks well put together. Not like the average kart. The guy is asking only $700!!! I think I'm gonna get this kart! Why not use your phone with the mph app? OMG. How dangerous is this? No more than sitting at a red light while on a tricycle. Oh by the way I would have gotten 8 tickets that day. LOL When do we knock out the governor?

    Try bringing the front wheels in a little, it should get rid of the push

    • @RedBeardsGarage
      @RedBeardsGarage  6 років тому +1

      It grips good. The only time it pushes the front end is if you floor it when setting still and try to sharp turn.

    Cool vid of a good looking kart. Looks more like a "medium" frame to me though, I'd prefer another 8 to 12 inches of wheelbase. Something I'm curious about, would a live axle kart meant for pavement benefit from a differential?

      @RedBeardsGarage  7 років тому

      +Butch S. If you could get a differential it would probably work pretty good.

    I like the way it's built I have one that's very close its called a purple haze I have a lot of work to do on it somebody cut the roll cage off of it & the live axle everything is stuck on it I bent a lot of parts heating them & using pullers on the this kart has a jack shaft on it with the driven clutch on the left side and the right side is the small gear & the big gear is on the axle
