  • In this video I'll take you on a "real" updated Minelab Manticore metal detecting adventure but I am focusing on the Stabilizer feature and when to turn it on and how to adjust it as I encounter nails etc. I had the camera angle off a bit but nevertheless, I think you will understand what I'm trying to show. Nice video. Thanks. I love how I'm able to pull deep silvers in an iron infested site! The stabilizer should only be used in high mineralization or iron infestation.

    I like it that you uploaded a video and your best target was a broken carabinier....It gives credit to your other videos when I do find something good and you showed what a bunch of bad targets sound like...

  • @minelabdetexpert

    You talk about the stabilizer as one whole item. But there are 2,the stabilizer setting goes into operation from setting 1 to 12,the stabilizer filter on off will give an extra effect to the sound. It is up to the user to choose which one to choose that suits him best

      Thanks I'm tracking. But explain to me with a stabilizer at 1 and the filter on why is my audio enhanced (louder) but when it goes up to 2 it doesn't carry the same volume?

    • @minelabdetexpert
      @minelabdetexpert Рік тому

      @@MentalMetal The higher you go with the filter off the more you suppress the shirping, with the filter on you get to hear it softer, it is an extra tool that helps you remove doubt if you have a signal somewhere. You immediately hear that it is iron. The biggest advantage is a lot of time savings, the trick is to set it ideally so that it becomes clear to you with the lowest possible setting

    I’m not sure how much the update has really affected finding nails for me. I finally got out this weekend and they still ring up at a 78-81 for me. Sound good at least one way. The red numbers are nice but it did the same thing before the update with a red line under the numbers. I’ll admit that most of the time I knew it wasn’t a good target but in my test garden I have good target’s buried with nails and they sounded the same. Hopefully with more time on the machine I’ll get better at it. Drives me nuts thinking I’ve found a silver dime just to pull out a big nail! I never went higher than 6 on stabilizer though.

    You now have enough nails to build that shed.....next time we go out we will compare targets....you with that nail magnet and me with the D2.....2 more carabiners and you could go rock climbing

    I got my Manticore in August and have been detecting an old abandoned early 1800 church yard. I run in AT general or AT high conductors with all but the basic settings on factory settings. Sens as high as I can without chatter usually 21-27, recovery is at 5. Since I have got this thing in August I have not found even trash at more than 6 inches deep. I just spent 1 1/2 - 2 hours there yesterday and only had one signal worth digging. It was solid 13 , round dot on the center line, I was excited until I pulled up foil :((. Most of the things I have detected I can get with my pin pointer before I dig. Do you have any suggestions how to make this Manticore do more than find shallow coins and trash ?

    • @MentalMetal
      @MentalMetal  9 місяців тому

      A couple things I would suggest, 1. There may not be anything there. 2. Don't depend on the 2D map, its a tool so listen to the tones more (just like any other machine, you can tell a lot by the tones. 3. If you didn't get the software upgrade, you should and turn on Ferrous Indications (red numbers). 4. Try running your ground stabilization at 4. Hope that helps.

    • @bennoah9780
      @bennoah9780 9 місяців тому

      @@MentalMetalI have also had same results in the park, just shallow stuff. I went online to update when I got it but it said it was already up to date so I did not do any more to it. I will do as you suggest with the ground stabilization, I have not touched that yet. I was trying to avoid changing the factory setting since I assume it was probably set to the best all around performance but so far my Legend walks all over this thing. Thank You for the help .
