  • Hey guys welcome back, I got myself the new minelab gold monster 1000 metal detector yesterday a couldn’t resist the the urge to go for a gold hunt..
I spent the entire day working my way up the Adelong creek swinging my gold monster over crevices and potential pay gravel.. it wasn’t until the end of the day whenmoved upstream to my newly nicknamed mother load gold spot, I started to find gold nuggets and pickers with the monster, I hope you’s enjoy this new style of video from Busted knuckles prospecting 🤠.

Run it in auto 1 settings, full volume,, when you turn it on, hold the machine completely level so the coil is at about hip height, then turn it on and hold it level until it loads up...
Once the machine is loaded up move your coil to the ground then ground balance it for about 15 seconds or until it goes quiet...
after you do that it’s good to go..
If you stop and rest your coil on the ground you will have re ground balance it,,

Well done Sean. I am enjoying your videos & the many lessons I learn from them. Gary from Two Tails (in the US) uses old windscreen wipers to make crevice hooks too. I am in the process of dup.icating a couple of them but, as yet, have not got the ends of them hot enough to flatten & bend. Using a Plumber's gas bottle & attachment in the heating process. I think I might be too impatient to heat the ends long enough. Hahaha.

went to my groups gold claim last weekend (10-9-21), i got out my dowsing rods, they led me down a hill to a dried up stream bed, i fired up my GM1000, i started at the top of the dried stream bed, found a lot of tiny pieces of rusted metal as i followed the stream down the lower hill, to my left was a bank of sand running up the side from the stream bed, ran the GM over it, my GM found its first piece of gold. only piece i found that day, but it made for a good day just the same.

Nice work ol mate, had my monster about 18 months now and i feel its taken me that long to properly work out what its telling me. In the lower minerised areas try the high manual settings. Have found gold that auto plus couldnt detect. Will be a bit chattier but once you recognise the tone gold makes you can ignore the rest. Heaps more sensitive. Sharp whippy tones are the ones that make my ears prick up, and dont ignore faint ones i have realised. Ground noise moves around but genuine targets dont. My theory is if the meter is showing non ferrous more than 50% of the time have a boot dig, check it again and if it shows mostly non ferrous then youre on.!
    Cheers mate

Good one mate. Have you seen where Chris Vogus showed using a detector to find targets in the creek bed, without digging them, put a flag on them to create a line to show the pay steak. I have used this method for many years and works a treat panning and sluice work. And then you can still use the detector to check for missed bits. Enjoy your vids

One of the other guys- I think it was Gary on Two Toes was showing that using the detector to find iron and then panning the cracks that catch iron also catch gold. I would presume lead would be even more predictive of gold also being present as the specific gravity is closer to gold than iron. An interesting way to use even a mediocre detector maybe?
