It would’ve showed that Furious couldn’t save his son no matter what. Ricky and Doughboy would’ve both rode for Tre. Which possibly leads to Ricky going to prison which shows that the most exceptional student can have one bad day
Furious lived in the hood, so he knows how the hood is and how things could happen. If you notice when he shot at the robber, he wasn't emotional. Furious is trained to keep his emotions in check in high stress situations. Me personally I think he would have started a foundation to keep his son alive in the minds of others. He would definitely fight for justice Tre
I think Furiously would’ve grieved. Then, probably start a scholarship fund in Tre’s name or something like that. Ricky would go on to play pro always remembering Tre and making the scholarship fund even bigger.
I always looked at "The Best Man" movie as the alternate outcome of Tre getting killed instead of Ricky. Lance was basically Ricky if he had made it out the hood and was drafted in the NFL.
Tre was the heart of the team. His crew. Let me tell you-there’s always the warm smart dude in the hood, and if you touch him everyone loses their shit. Rick and Dough would ride for him hard as hell. His dad? Not sure. I don’t think he’d move out of the hood.
I don’t think he would seek to get revenge he would took it hard cuz that’s his only son he probably would blame himself and be like i should sent him back with his mother a long time ago to get him away from the hood
I feel as if furious would’ve been angry and grieved. not necessarily trying to get revenge, but he would’ve had some type of 180 (depression or seeking answers) because he probably would’ve felt like he failed tre. We see how he acts when Tre was seeking revenge for Ricky and kinda had to get firm but still nurturing with Tre to get the gun. Also think he would’ve moved because I know he was down for his hood and being making it better but it at the same time his hood took his baby so I would think he would probably move. Move or become an activist and really try to reform the neighborhood after Tre died.
"Initially, furious’ instinct would likely be to offer comfort to Riva, possibly reconnecting as they both grief over their child. That’s when they might start an advocacy/ foundation that gives like yearly scholarships. I believe that Doughboy keeps up with the news, though he's more of a casual observer rather than someone glued to it around the clock."
I think Furious would have been in a deep depression. Since he is a businessman. I do not see him risking that. I think he would be an activist against gang violence.
Another thing that I thought about is what about Ricky? He might have wanted to go get revenge for Trey also. Furious may have to be the person to talk Ricky out of throwing his life away by getting revenge.
Furious would have lost his mind had it been Tre. All his principles would have flown out the window. He would have taken revenge unless someone talked him out of it.
Should do a video on the fact the Lance Sullivan from Best Man is alternate universe Ricky if he grew up in a nice home and family structure 😂 if you guys won't , i will
Furious would not have done nothing but grieve his son. Remember at the billboard he was telling the guys that they were doing exactly what they wanted him to do by killing other people. Especially his own kind, another young black man. Furious was against killing even when he was forced to protect Trey and himself when the burglar came in his home. And like most of us when we were young I don't think his dad Furious knew the troubles he was having with those 3 guys. They pulled a shotgun on him in front of his house he did not snitch. He didn't tell his dad the officer pulled the revolver on them during a traffic stop instead he went to Brandy to vent. I think still the only ones who would have taken Revenge if Trey died would have been Doughboy, Monster, and Dookie.
Furious not leaving. He was too much invested in the hood and if Trey would have died it would have made him and be more invested in a hood. I think he would have created some sort of memorial or tribute to Trey and gun violence to really clean up the hood and be more of an activist as he was already.
First off thanks for the shout out you guys have dope content as always and I agree it is a different circumstance than him talking to the people in the neighborhood and obviously he didn't want to leave the hood that's why I believe he would have become an activist against violence and I believe he was too disciplined to react in a vengeance mindset and definitely a great point that Ricky didn't get news coverage but do you see Furious as the kind of man to wait on the media? PAYBACK
PAYBACK. I agree 💯 with Cheri here. For furious, he believed what he preached but it's largely an academic exercise until something happens to someone close to you. Not to mention he didn't really hesitate to fire at all when the burglar showed up. He's level headed but definitely has a berserk button. With that said, Ferris is dangerous, and was never unarmed and any thing furious did during a confrontation would likely be considered self defense. Furious is equally as likely to seek revenge and engage in activism. Highest probabilities there. I think Cheri also mentioned his quest for revenge would have a time limit. I firmly believe this too, after a few days without finding them, he'd shift gears and take another approach. Some commenters mentioned alcoholism and moving out of state, I think those are strongish possibilities knowing his character, albeit not as strong as the aforementioned. Leaving the hood is the least likely for him. I don't see it, he might leave THAT hood, but he'd end up in that type of community wherever he traveled.
I am not sure or thought about the act of that. I know that the father would be hurt by that. And i agree with Heit. He would had done nothing but took it for what it is. The mom would have been upset as well.
@16:53 I could see that, because it’s a somber song about freedom, I could imagine this song playing as he’s flying up to heaven like he’s finally free that’s actually a beautiful thought, that you put those two things together
Payback. First time commenting (just subscribed). I’ll give this a try: Upon hearing about his son Tre being taken out, Furious lives up to his name. He’s got the police, the D.A., the mayor, on notice. He’s fed up with it all, obviously while in mourning. But it doesn’t stop there. Reva joins in on the fight for justice as well (while it’s clear that she’s doing it for her son). Meanwhile, Ricky is taking the loss of his best friend in a bad way. He walks onto the porch where Doughboy, who is clearly not waiting for justice to be served, is sitting. They both have a one on one conversation. It’s now time to take them out! But in a shocking twist, Brenda stops them. She tells them to stop and watch the news. Ferris and his gang were eliminated by a secret armed group! Was it a rival gang? A vigilante? The police? No one knows. After all this, the living room became quiet. Complete and utter silence. It was over. But not for Furious and Reva. Street Justice may have been served, but not justice for Tre. Justice for the community! After Tre was laid to rest, things took a turn for the better. The neighborhood, though not perfect, was improving. Furious and Reva reconciled, but moved away to another part of L.A. (Baldwin Hills, maybe). As for Ricky and his family, he opted to go to the Army (he was offered a full college scholarship to play football there 🙏🏾). His girlfriend and son also were included in the Army deal as well. Brenda and Doughboy, surprisingly, repaired their relationship with each other. One day, Doughboy was met by a black man who handed him a business card. The mysterious man told him, “When you’re tired of sitting on the porch drinking 40s, give me a call. And oh, we’ll find some “work” for your friends as well”. Doughboy took a look at the card, flipped it over, and it on the back of it, was a Black Skull (I’ll let you all figure out the meaning of the skull 😂)….
@@AxiomAmnesia Thanks. I almost spoiled the ending, but I stayed the course 😄! The commentary/analysis you two provide on these movies make me really think. And I appreciate that.
I just can’t believe that anyone who said payback actually watched Boyz N Da Hood. He was too critical of a thinker and he would’ve been devastated. I have no doubt he would’ve defended himself against any threats after Tre died, but going out in the streets to look for the people who killed his son is a ridiculous notion. And most people who claim to get revenge wait for the courts to make the decisions.
My condolences to you Cheri, I had no idea. You are so correct that loss of a loved one changes you, especially knowing it was violent or heinous. And yes, Benji was looked at as Chicago's hope the way Ricky was regarded for Cali/Crenshaw. Great parallel. As far as Furious....I think he would have directly acted on his given name, without seeking LE, if Tre was the one taken out. It was in him. Once again, I so appreciate how you both consider the what ifs beyond what movies present to us👏👏👏👏👍💚
Two words: Deep Cover. I think Furious would have probably flipped out, he did try to shoot the burglar and Trey was his all. If Trey got hit instead or as well, I think he would have snapped. I’m from Chicago too and Ben Wilson was my age and played basketball with my cousins who grew up in Robert Taylor projects. That was a sad time. Payback
I think he would’ve been….Furious 😈, nah he could’ve done three of the choices, I could see this being a movie about furious getting revenge, because he first went to the cops who don’t do anything, he uses his military skills to take out Ferris, and then he serves time in prison for killing him, when he eventually gets out, he becomes an activist. Movie would be called “Furious” directed by John muh fuckin singleton.
He was in the hood because thats what he could afford 😂 that man was in his early 20s with a kid and was a veteran like one emergency wouldve turned him into Anthony from Dead Presidents
I feel like Furious would've become an activist, since he's so connected to his hood. However, I also feel like, he would've made sure that Ferris and his crew would've gotten got, by letting someone know that he has green light on his head.
The police wouldn’t arrest Faris nor would Furious go to the Police. In a way, the cops were also the antagonists so why would he go to his opps seeking justice?
Never thought of this scenario. But I would also throw this in random, but what if in Dead Presidents, Anthony took Curby's advice and he killed Cleon how do y'all think the outcome would be?
And if Delilah would have got that first shot off at the cop instead of him hitting her and if Joe blew the doors off the truck instead of blowing up the whole truck. 💭
To answer the question if he does attempt to kill Cleon I think they get caught sooner. Judging the time of how it played out instantly after they discussed it they either would’ve been caught in the act or Cleon would’ve snitched right then. Especially seeing Kirby it would’ve become more evident what they were there for from Cleon’s perspective.
His mother would've suffered the most because she wanted Tre to move back in with her, but Tre was in his last year of High School and Furious didn't want Tre to leave which why he made statements about her missing out on his childhood. Plus she made the decision to send Tre to live with his Father in the first place. Furious wanted Tre to live with him, but his mother had full custody so she made that decision.
Hey thats a good one, but Furious in an alternate universe went to New York changed his name to Jimmy Jump and worked for Frank White. Or he moved to Cincinnati, joined the police department and went.....wait for it......DEEP COVER...lol...but seriously I think he would have become an activist. Maybe Furious and that black cop joined forces. I can't see him taking revenge. This may have brought Mrs. Baker and him closer....they did have somewhat of a history...but another good one guys.
Honestly, I don't think Furious would've had to do much of anything to Ferris. I say this because, remember, both Doughboy and Ricky are still alive in this scenario. So with that being said, I can definitely see the both of them and their crew riding out to get revenge on Ferris for Trey's death.
I Don't believe furious would have seeked revenge because when Tray tried to seek revenge on Ricky's death furious said that it wasn't smart and schooled him on the concept of someone else coming back to get him.
when I look at the movie I kinda do wish it was Tre and not rick so it can kinda be like a plot twist just like in menace to society when Caine gets shot.
Well I think the big conversation with furious and doughboy they are going to go back and forth, because I think that doughboy will want to get revenge, and furious would want doughboy to get revenge. But at the same time by him being an activist he might have tried to talk doughboy out of getting revenge. Or maybe making the decision eventually to go with doughboy to get the revenge. Knowing that doughboy was about that life, and doughboy knew exactly who the dude was so he wasn't hard to go through all those hoops to try to find Trey's killer. So that's a big conversation before he does anything.
I just love your channel!!! I think Furious would have his foot on the police necks. He would definitely fight for justice for Tre and demand the killer be arrested he would have been all over the news and encouraging others to take a stand with him.
Interesting! Isn't it wild how we process these movies years later? Sentiments toward Cuba have changed in recent years with all of his troubles, and now him being named in the Diddy mess. I think that may have a subconscious effect on how I look at him these days...
Well the dont call him "furious" for no reason. He does all the woke conscious talk, but like job, when the devil strikes your flesh and blood, it hit different.
I can compare furious to a redeem Leon from snowfall ….furious was probably young and wild as a young man and from him having tre had a reality check and changed his ways
No telling how Tre's Murder would have effected him. I see it putting him in a Dark Place. One he would have had a hard time getting his self out of. #PAYBACK😁💯👍🏾
well with Furious being ex military he would more than likely have taken revenge on Ferris and his boys with the help of Doughboy & his friends and his brother Ricky or Furious would have taken Ferris and his boys out on his own since he's ex military depending on his rank when he was in the military??
I find it interesting that yall said that about the male adult figures because when you think about furious in the beginning of the movie was only a few years older than what we assume doughboy to be cause remember tre and furious age gap isnt that big…the movie started with furious in his 20s
@@AxiomAmnesia that’s what makes it interesting truly because now it makes me feel like the story should have been from furious perspective because from the details we can put together he was doughboy until his son came and he went to the army which then in a way made him like Ricky except he got to go to the army.. if we had solid information that led to how furious became like that then we could get a true understanding of tre, doughboy, and Ricky
I’m gonna put myself in Furious’ shoes. I have multiple children so I feel like if that were to happen as much as I would want to avenge my child I would probably have to try to urge the police to arrest them but if I had one child like Furious, Ferris and his boys maybe even their parents are taking a dirt nap.
Furious would have continued to advocate. His son dying was just fuel for his cause. Now one thing about furious everybody knows him around the hood the movie boys in the hood was primarily about black teens growin up in the hood. So it focused on their story and not furious. A lot of the things furious did was off screen
I think Furious would be in a depression than I think Tre from beyond the grave would give Furious a reason to look out the window and see Ricky gearing up to avenge Tre's death. We would have a similar scene to what we had with Tre. Furious. Ricky where do you think going? Ricky. Out *Ricky quickly tires to hid the gun under his shirt* Furious. Oh I get it. You are bad huh? You're so bad you're going throw your entire future away. Ricky: Look I gotta go. *Ricky tries to push past Furious but Furious blocks his path* Furious You think I don't know what you are going through right now? You think I don't want to go get the punks that did this and make them pay? TREY IS ........was my son *Ricky's face who had been stone cold now starts to soften as he hears this grown man this father getting choked up* Furious. *holding back tears* Every minute since this happened I have thought about noting other than what I would do to the monsters that did this to my boy . That took..........the only good thing in my life; *Furious stops for moment to compose himself* Than I ask myself what will vengeance accomplish? Will it bring my boy back? Will someone close to them come and do the same thing to me? Maybe they will maybe they will miss me and hit you or Doughboy? Than what you or Doughboy go after than than someone close to them comes after you? Where does this end? *We see a quick scene in Ricky's mind of Ferris' brother coming for Ricky but shooting his little boy instead* Ricky. *voice shaking* Than what am I supposed to do? Furious. You go to college you get an education and when you have made something of yourself you come back here and fix this place up. You make sure NOTHING like this ever happens again. *Ricky drops the gun on the ground. Furious pats him on the shoulder. Ricky bursts into sobs and Furious embraces him, Ricky to embraces Furious. The two of them stand in the middle of yard crying* Roll credits
Well let's think it about this, what if Tre would've got killed alongside with Ricky in that corner that they try to run from but could not fast run fast enough to the point where Ferris and his Blood gang already spotted them just for the sake of them just being there at the wrong place and the wrong time? Now let's ponder on that scenario.
Its a Risk everyday for everyone the world unpredictable and relentless and dont stop we have to stay ready for it reguardless shifting in to the right gears of every mile that is achieve negative or positive in every situation you are put into reguardless
I think the lost of his son would've been his breaking point. Yes, he talks this, and that about the community, but I believe all of that wouldve went out the window. Tre is his only child. I think he would've grieved first yes but best believe he would've found out who did it and handled it in a calculated way. Tres mama would've probably blamed him also and looked at him like I left him with you. What you gone do? Leaving him to feel like he has no choice.
I say Rick and doughboy tell the father who kills trey right away ..,....but he uses the peace Allah young brother talk!!¡!!!!! But then the mom comes gets on the father with the I left our son with you she blames him then he go into a depression...,...then just one day the dad is out run across the killers out free laughing and still bsing then he snaps hunts them down for the kill but he is never caught
I don’t think he would have gotten revenge solely because furious too “Woke” to kill another black man even if it was the one who killed his son he would have forgave him imo
😆 I grew up on the South Side of Chicago IN the city. I did not grow up in the suburbs. This is what I mean when I talk about people not knowing what kind of Black person I am. I grew up around mostly Black folks who were just like me too. And we all lived in the city on the South Side. It is a thing. 😊
I think we'd have seen why Furious's name is "Furious". He would have been tempted to revert to his old ways. But i don't think he'd have resorted to killing. He'd be out in the streets trying to get legal justice, I think. Trying to get those guys arrested. It wouldn't end with their arrests or deaths though. He would have started a movement to try and clean up the hood. I think he'd even try to become a politician of some sort Great video and idea.
From the title alone: I know Ricky would've been a model college student and or athlete with insparation from Tre's passing.
It would’ve showed that Furious couldn’t save his son no matter what.
Ricky and Doughboy would’ve both rode for Tre. Which possibly leads to Ricky going to prison which shows that the most exceptional student can have one bad day
Good reason
Furious lived in the hood, so he knows how the hood is and how things could happen. If you notice when he shot at the robber, he wasn't emotional. Furious is trained to keep his emotions in check in high stress situations. Me personally I think he would have started a foundation to keep his son alive in the minds of others. He was in Vietnam war too
If Tre died the ending will still happened but it would be more personal because Tre had no hood in him.
I think Furiously would’ve grieved. Then, probably start a scholarship fund in Tre’s name or something like that. Ricky would go on to play pro always remembering Tre and making the scholarship fund even bigger.
Chile, Furious would have gone on a killing spree !
I said that too
Maaaane.... I'm just going off of the thumbnail soooo Ricky wouldn't be be walking around buying scratch offs anymore bc he would be in the league😂😅
I always looked at "The Best Man" movie as the alternate outcome of Tre getting killed instead of Ricky. Lance was basically Ricky if he had made it out the hood and was drafted in the NFL.
Ricky wouldve ran for 6000 yards at USC if his man Tre went down that day , dedicated his college career to him
And 40 Tds, and later gets drafted to the Browns
Tre was the heart of the team. His crew. Let me tell you-there’s always the warm smart dude in the hood, and if you touch him everyone loses their shit. Rick and Dough would ride for him hard as hell. His dad? Not sure. I don’t think he’d move out of the hood.
I don’t think he would seek to get revenge he would took it hard cuz that’s his only son he probably would blame himself and be like i should sent him back with his mother a long time ago to get him away from the hood
This Boyz in the Hood what If is perfect happy Friday you two. I saw Boyz in the Hood so many times as a kid.

He didnt gain the name Furious for no reason. So he got some street background.
He would would be Ali from south Central. Schooling OG Bobby Johnson. 🤣

Should do a video on the fact the Lance Sullivan from Best Man is alternate universe Ricky if he grew up in a nice home and family structure 😂 if you guys won't , i will
Well that wouldn't work actually because technically Lance was a big tough guy n Ricky was kinda of a punk or "mark" as they said n the movie

Payback! Good video. What about Jungle Fever though. Ever thought about that one?
Great suggestion!
Side note: the actor that played Ferris passed away in February rip Raymond d turner.
That ending would have been crazy if Tre died!
Now I have to go watch the movie again.
Thank you ❤️
I recently rewatched this movie and yall I do not like Cuba being cast as Tre at all! Bumper Robinson although a little young would have fit better
Interesting! Isn't it wild how we process these movies years later? Sentiments toward Cuba have changed in recent years with all of his troubles, and now him being named in the Diddy mess. I think that may have a subconscious effect on how I look at him these days...
50% I think people just being funny y'all 😂😂😂😂
Furious would have looking for the killers.
He would have left the hood to maintained his mind and came back for revenge
Well the dont call him "furious" for no reason. He does all the woke conscious talk, but like job, when the devil strikes your flesh and blood, it hit different.
I can compare furious to a redeem Leon from snowfall ….furious was probably young and wild as a young man and from him having tre had a reality check and changed his ways
No telling how Tre's Murder would have effected him. I see it putting him in a Dark Place. One he would have had a hard time getting his self out of.
#PAYBACK😁💯👍🏾
well with Furious being ex military
he would more than likely have taken revenge on Ferris and his boys with the help of Doughboy & his friends and his brother Ricky or Furious would have taken Ferris and his boys out on his own since he's ex military
depending on his rank when he was in the military??
do a movie review on lockdown, starring master p., deaundre bonds, and richard t. jones, and one on the hot boyz movie.
I find it interesting that yall said that about the male adult figures because when you think about furious in the beginning of the movie was only a few years older than what we assume doughboy to be cause remember tre and furious age gap isnt that big…the movie started with furious in his 20s
Yeah, but he was also the only mature male in the rest of the film.
Unpopular opinion, it would have been like the black John wick
Furious would have continued to advocate. His son dying was just fuel for his cause. Now one thing about furious everybody knows him around the hood the movie boys in the hood was primarily about black teens growin up in the hood. So it focused on their story and not furious. A lot of the things furious did was off screen
I think he would have went to the police first, and if that didn't work he would have took revenge himself.
do a video on what if doughboy didnt die at the end would he would of changed
I think Furious would be in a depression than I think Tre from beyond the grave would give Furious a reason to look out the window and see Ricky gearing up to avenge Tre's death. We would have a similar scene to what we had with Tre.
Furious. Ricky where do you think going?
Ricky. Out *Ricky quickly tires to hid the gun under his shirt*
Furious. Oh I get it. You are bad huh? You're so bad you're going throw your entire future away.
Ricky: Look I gotta go. *Ricky tries to push past Furious but Furious blocks his path*
Furious You think I don't know what you are going through right now? You think I don't want to go get the punks that did this and make them pay? TREY IS ........was my son
*Ricky's face who had been stone cold now starts to soften as he hears this grown man this father getting choked up*
Furious.
*We see a quick scene in Ricky's mind of Ferris' brother coming for Ricky but shooting his little boy instead*
Ricky.
My new favorite channe
❤️❤️❤️
😂😂😂😂😂😂 Y'all hella funny for this
Well let's think it about this, what if Tre would've got killed alongside with Ricky in that corner that they try to run from but could not fast run fast enough to the point where Ferris and his Blood gang already spotted them just for the sake of them just being there at the wrong place and the wrong time?
Now let's ponder on that scenario.
What do you think?
I like that theory.
PAYBACK! Furious would have fought for justice.
Payback!
I wonder if furious would have stayed in the hood even after tre went to college
I’ve lived safely in Chatham (Chicago) all my life, it’s not the hood in the stereotypical way.
I grew up not far from there in Pill Hill. It just depends on which street you cross on the South Side really.
PAYBACK!
I don’t think he would have gotten revenge solely because furious too “Woke” to kill another black man even if it was the one who killed his son he would have forgave him imo
Hey

Cheri you don’t sound like the City at all, so I can tell by that.

I think me u k my son all bets are off wat type of world y’all two livein in mane me sorry I come from it eye for an eye
I think he'd even try to become a politician of some sort
Great video and idea.
He would would be Ali from south Central. Schooling OG Bobby Johnson. 🤣
