Mayer himself said in one of his interviews about playing the guitar is that you can rip off his music in any way you like. As long as you have a good understanding about the guitar, go have fun with it or do it better than he did.

Very few people will be aware of how elite this playing truly is.
I've been playing guitar for 18 years and this might be one of the most beautiful things I have heard on the guitar. Expressive, in control, and it tells a story.
To this day, I've not heard anyone play with the same touch and expression. Perfect tone and flawless playing.

I love that the guitar looks so damn aggressive but the tone and sound is so gentle.
Very rare that I like someone's playing first time, but hot damn! Some tasty choices in there man, and the tone is bang on.

I think why this is so appealing to me is because it's very gentle and usually you can't hear all those subtle details, but here you can, crystal clear, and they're all on purpose!

thats only partially true tho, if its the way he sounds in all his covers, then it could be his setup, because hes doing it all the time. Yes everyone has a slightly different tone, but the guitar is like a piano, and unlike a horn. it sounds pretty much the same no matter who is playing it, if you're doing it the same way. It's not like a horn where everyone sounds very different, even on the same horn.
LOL I actually thought it was John Mayer playing, didn't realize until I scrolled down.. At the start I was thinking "oh wow yeah this is why John Mayer is so amazing"

This was the sexiest guitar playing I have ever watched.
I recently started listening to more of John Mayer's music (specifically his live performance at the Nokia Theatre in L.A.), but I had yet to hear this song. Your version is just as, if not more beautiful than John's. You're sound is incredibly soothing which makes it the perfect music to have playing while I sit back, relax, and think about life :)

Thanks! Signal chain is v simple. Guitar -> looper -> interface -> effects (comp/reverb mostly)
