Happy 2020 my friends! I wanted to kick the year off sharing some of the staple foods we always keep in the fridge to help you make easy and healthy meals and snacks throughout the week. Let me know if you want to see a freezer and pantry version of this type of video as well. I would be happy to share! xo - Dani
Not sure which state you live in but can you update with seasonal additions you always have. Like in the winter we always have some citrus bc it is in season, June strawberries ext.
For the sprouted bread, I see it in the freezer section at my store and see you keep it in the fridge. Is that how that brand works (transfer to fridge)? Does that mean it defrosts so you don't need to toast it every time? Or do you always need to toast it? How long do you find it keeps in the fridge?
Just stumbled across your page as I searched for ways to implement clean eating habits. So many recipes, so much information...I know what I’ll be doing all weekend. Love this and thank you!!!
I would love to see your "self talk" throughout the day. Perhaps how your internal monologue is around meals, healthy habits, etc. It could be fun and entertaining to do it as a voice over as you do a "what I eat in the day" or a "day in the life.". I don't think I've seen anyone do that and I think self talk can sometimes be such an important part of weight loss, maintenance, etc.
Love these videos, because it shows that eating clean doesn't have to be complicated or require ingredients that cost a fortune and can't be found at a grocery store as opposed to a specialty store. I'd love to see a pantry and freezer video too.
I cleaned and cut celery and carrots and put in wide mouth mason jars filled with water . So far 3 weeks still crunchy and fresh ! I’m one person. I use to eat or cook with.
Louise Thorne - True. My mom used to do this in a larger glass/Pyrex container and they'd always stay crunchy and fresh. I'm sure radishes and rutabega might too. But I just don't hear this tip very often any more!
I've made a lot of changes tks to you. Retired. Love our new easy healthy and delicious meals. Don't have sugar lows anymore, no need for mindless snacking. Happy New year to you and your family. Jx
Thanks for sharing how you mix in your how to eat cleanly. We just recently received a diagnosis for my daughter of celiac and I am prediabetic. So it has helped me see new ways to use those ingredients that I have in my fridge already. Have a blessed week. I really enjoy your videos and recipe ideas.
I don’t think that the carrots & celery actually dry up, they’re just not wet on the surface and they get that white dry look. If that bothers some people all you’ve gotta do is throw them into a bowl of ice cold water and they’ll perk right up.
I would be very interested seeing your pantry and freezer staples. I would also like to see more videos like this with tips and simple meals! Thank you so much for sharing your experiences and wisdom with us!
So glad I found this channel. I starting eating healthy after gaining alot of weight with my kids. I picked up unhealthy habits and now I'm changing them.
Definitely want to hear what u keep on hand. I buy seasonal, or frozen. I'm addicted to my zucchini, but I just bought yellow bell peppers and red peppers. Avocado and cucumbers. Eggs. For some reason I'm not so much into fruit - even when I buy the fruit, I forget to eat them. I rarely buy refrigerated chumous as there are often recalls but I can just take a can of chickpeas and zzzsh them up w spices. Maybe I'll come visit u and learn better ways to prepare my food, lol, but seriously. Blessings love and prayers from Israel
Israel has amazing food depending on one's taste buds. I don't like spicy food but there are many eateries w spicy food. I enjoy savory food, but as I hate cooking, I am happy to just eat food in a simple way. Thanks for responding to me.
Please do the freezer and pantry video. I have been following you for years, and I cannot begin to tell you how helpful and encouraging your videos are. And Happy New Year, friend!
I really appreciate the basic, simple "recipes" you suggest with each item and would love to see the same with freezer and pantry. Whether snack ideas or components of meals. Instead of ingredients and steps, I'really like when you do these easy things you pull together with ingredients on-hand that are just eye-balled! Thank you so much for all you do!
Yes I love this video, staples in the refrigerator. Next we would like to see the staples in your cabinet. And then the staples in your freezer. You are a delight. Thank you
I really enjoyed this video. It helped me see how to do a better job of eating healthier on a daily basis! I would love to see videos on the staples in your freezer and pantry!
SO many great ideas packed up in just one video! THANK YOU so much!!!! I really struggle with meal ideas and not eating the same things over and over again and getting demotivated and bored.... so thank you, this is just what I needed :)
Lots of great ideas. Please continue with your videos on your freezer and pantry. I have gotten rid of all junk food and I will continue watching your videos.
The perfect video to start a new year! I never have enough raw veg on hand, so it was nice to see how much you keep, as well as some new ideas for veggies. I always forget about radishes. Thank you for sharing what you use all of these items for as well. I would love to see your freezer and pantry staples, too!
Hi Dani! I was looking up some videos on emotional eating as it’s been rough lately. I am disabled so I struggle to eat clean and healthy as I am not able to really stand and cook. Stumbling onto your channel is literally the best thing that has happened to me this year!! I only wish I had found it sooner! I’ve already been on your website saving recipes, taking note of your tips, watching a ton of your videos, and reading your history. You are amazing!!! I have tried all the diets out there, and due to my health I am on a lot of meds that cause weight gain so weight loss, especially with three back surgeries, has been a struggle. I love how your focus is on clean eating with whole ingredients and that your recipes aren’t super complicated. I can’t count the number of diet and recipe books I own but they’re overwhelming. I have always liked to bake, but more of a novice at cooking, but with your ideas and options I think I could manage some of these. Thank you thank you!! ❤🎉
one of the best videos I've seen on eating healthy and keeping it practical! So colorful, so many tips, so many food ideas- and no fluff and waiting around for someone to get to the point! All valuable info and beautiful meals! Thank you!
I am with you on the sprouted bread; I used to just eat bread and butter as a meal so often, but once I switched over, I only use it for actual meals like sandwiches or avocado toast!
You make me feel proud of myself.. I have almost everything you mentioned in my fridge too. Exception made for the roast chicken. For the berries I can't sometime afford them, especially in winter time, I then get what's in season instead, like oranges, pomegranates or persimmons. Oh and I keep my nut butters in the pantry..
Love these ideas! For my carrots and celery, I cut them into sticks and put them in a jar with some water, just like fresh cut flowers. Each time I grab a veggie, I pour out the water and put some fresh. Wal-ah, no more dried carrots and celery. I do, however, put the bouquet of veggies on a high-rimmed tray, just in case the jars gets bumped. I also store my parsley and cilantro this way.
Yes, staples for freezer and pantry videos please !! I would also love videos on grocery haul prep for for storage, and video on meal prep and storage for the week, please ?? Thank you
Just a tip from someone who’s worked in a large hotel restaurant: keep your cut up carrots and celery in water. It keeps them crisp for a long time👍🏻I do this at home too for meal prep and it helps a ton, especially for times I can’t eat them all up within the week.
Yes Dani please because knowing from my own experience we try new things, we continue to research and learn new things all the time, so updates are wonderful.
yes finally a sustainable and attainable fridge staple ! i can actually get all of this in germany! and i love that this will help save me money while still eating clean and delicious ! would you do a pantry staples and maybe a how to store , fruit, veg, potato, onion flour pasta ect... i always have problems with my greens going bad by mid week !
I’m glad you mentioned steamer, as I’ve NEVER liked fresh veggies! 🥺 Ive never liked celery or radishes fresh nor cooked either. 🥸 I was raised & about impossible to change: “must have dessert with every meal person! I’m making your healthy banana & choc chip bread next. 🥰
I looove it! You're such an inspiration and make healthy eating so much more accessible! I'm definitely for a panty and freezer edition! Much love from Austria! ❤️
Pantry and freezer options as well would be great! To keep my cut carrots and celery from drying out, I store them in mason jars with filtered water, just change the water after 3 days or so. They have lasted over a week this way. Thanks for the video!
I Always have eggplants, "Kohlrabi" ( a vegetable typical German, softer than raddish, but tastes Like Green Apple), patatos, tomatos, Red kale, carrots, arugola, loads of Apples and berries. Great pantry Love your recepies
Omg! Thank you for the tips on the Kale! I love it but I don’t really know how to make it differently other than stir frying it. I am definitely trying the lentil soup idea!
Agree! It is so worth having veggies cut and in the fridge. I also cook a large pot of rice and freeze for stir frying. Onions, egg are cooked when it's mealtime, frozen peas added too. Perhaps add chicken, seasoned beef or just keep it all veggies. I precook pasta, store and microwave for meals. I always have frozen shrimp on hand to add to pasta, or a salad. BEANS..........whether canned or precooked in the slow cooker.....great to freeze and defrost as needed. *Any canned items are rinsed or buy low sodium. Winter meals always includes soup from scratch, and make enough to freeze. Nothing better than to have partial meal prep done!
This is truly precious information. I watched it when it came out, but I watched it again because it’s so full of great and practical ideas. Thank you, Dani!
This was very inspirational. So nice to have someone modeling healthy easy habits. For me, eating healthy has become a difficult thing especially when I am working full time. But it really doesn't have to be if you keep it simple. Its nice to see that!
Happy New Year 🎊 Thanks so much for share this more when in one of my resolutions is try to introduce better food for my daughter but also I love the easy and quickest way that with a simple routine can be help me a lot with my resolution 😉 Again thanks 😊
I love broccoli so much. I used to hate them for their smell and I have never given them a try but some days ago my mum made them with spices and I tasted them for the first time..gosh, they are delicious! and you've just given to me some ideas, so I can eat them more often. Thank you so much!
Thank you! :) I am a new viewer and I'm loving your videos and blog, they are very informative. I would love to see videos about what's in your pantry and freezer. :)
Holy crap this was super helpful! I struggle so much with eating enough veggies, especially on a tightish budget while working. Please do pantry and freezer videos! Thanks so much for this
What I like about your meals is that they’re so easy and not intimidating to people who don’t know how to cook. You just need to buy the items and chop or mix them!
Happy New Year Dani! Many blessings to you and your family. Thank you for this video. It was right on time and just what I needed. Been going thru some gastrointestinal issues and have to get a colonoscopy, endoscopy, and biopsy on the 6th of January. Will be definitely taking a page out of your book and will incorporate the same things you have in your fridge. Thank you for the great ideas! You're the bomb.com! I have a video request for some fermented foods that you recommend for gastrointestinal issues and for good gut health as well as lactose intolerant milks and food ideas for people like myself with lactose issues. Thanks doll!💜😊
Great tips and doing my best to eat clean as well as zero waste. Would love to hear your version of pantry and frozen version. Happy New Year to you and look forward to more videos. I've been making your blueberry/lemon oatmeal muffins over the last year and just love them, so easy for breakfast or a snack. I make a batch and freeze then take out the night before. I enjoy them by warming them up and add a bit of nut butter so good, thank you for sharing such an incrediable recipe!
Wow I am shocked and impressed someone who actually has actual cows milk in their house! My girls have grown up on 2% cows milk. My whole family grew up on cows milk. We love it. Plant milks are in occasional food in our home.
I enjoy these videos so much. I would love to see a pantry and freezer version. I also appreciate how you tell us how you use the items in your fridge. I get so many quick, awesome ideas from watching them.
What you're doing is coming sooooo close to what I'm doing (with Noom) to lose weight and NOT grow cancer back. The only adjustments I need to "fix" is my meal is for one. So, I adjusted the frittata to a small cast iron skillet and 6 eggs. Quick and yummy!
I thought this video was fabulous! Thank you! I’m going to add these ideas. I need to rewatch in slow motion. I so appreciate the fact that you include all whole food groups.
Thanx so very much Dani for your time! Feeling pretty dumpy lately, and it’s been so cold out! Feeling hopeful for a healthier year now! And …Yes, I would love to see what lies in your pantry! Cheers😊
Yes pantry and freezer!

I cleaned and cut celery and carrots and put in wide mouth mason jars filled with water . So far 3 weeks still crunchy and fresh ! I’m one person. I use to eat or cook with.
You can do the same thing with the small sweet yellow, red and orange peppers. So Crunchy.

😍 I just did this with cucumbers 👌🏾
I was going to suggest this too. I do this as well on occasion :)
Kinda a silly question but I’m wondering if you put the lid on the jar or cover the veggies in any way?
I cover items like celery in the container with a damp paper towel; just a thin layer over the top. Helps tremendously!
I do this with my lettuce and agree it does the trick!
Yes! Please do your pantry and freezer!
I will!
I would love a video of your pantry and freezer staples as well. Thanks so much for everything you Dani!!

Thanks Barbara! So glad you enjoyed the video - will share more soon.
Yes please freezer & pantry! I share your videos with friends getting on the healthy eating track!
Got it!! Will share soon:) Thanks for watching.
Very inspiring! I look forward to implementing some of them 😊
Yay! LOVE hearing that Brenda.
This is one of your best videos. I love the practice of having pantry staples and how you showed recipe ideas for them. Let’s see your pantry!
Love this style of video - keep them coming!
Thanks Nicole! Will do :)
Almond butter is always in my fridge!

I thought this video was fabulous! Thank you! I’m going to add these ideas. I need to rewatch in slow motion. I so appreciate the fact that you include all whole food groups.
Thank Renee! Glad it was helpful.
Salmon salad? I never heard of that? Like a chicken or tuna salad ? Can you make this recipe??!!! I’m intrigued, yum!
Here is a recipe I shared YEARS ago - > ua-cam.com/video/zy-5KkPqD5s/v-deo.html

I spread hummus over my salmon before I bake. It is delicious.
