End of Education in China! Generation’s Apocalypse: Despairing Young Students,Zombie-Like Collegians

- These young adults, in their twenties, should be full of life and vitality. Instead, they appear listless, their spirits drained by the intense pressures of education.
Recently, a video from Tsinghua University's 113th anniversary celebration went viral. It showed parade participants looking unusually despondent, drawing comparisons to the sluggish state of China's economy in many comments.

Memorization is not a full education. Being able to think creatively and critically is very important when it comes to having a full education. The CCP doesn't want people like that, they want mindless drones who won't question anyone in authority.
👍👍👍
Hardly anyone knows that!!!
China has old culture as old as the British. Their education system has been approved for thousand years. It has to be a richest county on earth and now it is the 2nd largest economy on earth within 70 years or shorter than the USA. While the USA economy is deteriorating using current education system. So why does any country on earth follow the failed education system of the USA?
You don't need to memorise anything today...there's GPT to spit out facts right there.
There was a Western master piano player who went to China and was astonished at the piano playing skills of Chinese children who were only in elementary school. Such young geniuses. Over 20 years later, he went back to China and met those kids again, they were all just working as piano teachers and playing in banquets. None of them ever wrote a musical piece.
Memorization has almost nothing to do with education. Waste of time.
You have obviously never attended American law school
Agreed, but the earth is flat and we never went to the moon. Space is also fake and ghey….
@@mickey1849 If all American law schools taught was memorization, the American courts would literally grind to a halt because no one would know how to do research, prepare a case, or find legal precedents unless they were lucky enough to get one that was covered in class... No, lawyers are actually taught how to think, and find solutions to problems. The total opposite of what CCP schools teach.
@@lareolanKFPNo written notes permitted in law school exams. All cases' names, along with the holdings in those cases and how the cases influenced the rule of law in a particular area of law must be memorized. There are no cheat sheets permitted in law school exams. Beyond that you must do the analysis required in a law school exam question. You must apply facts to rules and rules to facts. All the memorizing in the world won't help you do this. It is only practice, practice, and more practice that will improve this. So there is a significant memorizing aspect to American law school exams. But simply having all the legal rules memorized alone, without the ability to explain how these rules intersect with the fact pattern of an exam question, will get a student absolutely nothing.
in China kids learn math ,in the west they learn about vegans and gender.
Those poor Chinese kids being BEATEN into studying by their never pleased, toxic parents who only use them as their retirement plan just to graduate and have no job avaliable for them. You can bet those kids are gonna be MAD and retaliate against their parents.
In China, kids are a future resource for their parents as they’re expected to finance and care for their elderly parents.
in part of asia, it is a normal thing even for me
They aren't white, I have chinese parents and I am treated just like them, look at me very successful in life, no wonder why chinese students outperform american students in tests.
@@Joseonhangukeo351It's about balance. Learning should come with creative thinking and socializing. I don't really think any school system is particularly good however.
@@Joseonhangukeo351performing well in tests doesn’t mean performing well in life. I was that straight A student and it looked great in my transcript. As an adult, I suffered/suffer from chronic self doubt, depression, anxiety, have the worst case of staircase wit so I’m a total wallflower, and I didn’t know what I wanted in life because I wasn’t allowed to want anything except studying and good grades as a kid. All of my twenties and part of my thirties has been spent catching up on personal development that everyone else did in their teens so I’m still behind my western raised peers. Yes, I do blame my parents, but more than that, I realise they’re victims of their own culture too. My mom has no passions and interests whatsoever because they were portrayed as “obsessions” and “bad”. She obsessed instead over her duty as a Chinese mom to force our grades and discipline us when we performed below expectations (B in math is an Asian Fail). Now she’s obsessed with cleaning. It’s not a healthy or happy way to live and raise a family. My dad is always following a cult of some sort because he needs “authority figures” to help him interpret the world, and he’s easily led by unscrupulous people disseminating bad information.
I've been there. My backpack is too heavy. I walked alone to school. I must be independent as first born. My parents looking down on me. Even after get 2nd rank, it is still not enough. My late dad said I am useless. The winner is only 1 which is the first rank. The best way is escape from bad parents. I live in simple life. Not rich woman. As average woman, I am glad to have food and place to live. No need to get married.
Asian parents are harsh on their kids. Later they wonder why being strange to their kids. It is because they look us as "investment" and not human.
Take care, walk slowly :)
Was your dad a first rank student to tell you this?
My parents never asked us to study. My sister scored top 5 in the state for uni entrance exam. All of us did exceedingly well. My friends were shocked when I said my parents never pushed us to work hard. Even after we graduated, my parents said I must go out to eat with my husband at least twice a week and don't work too hard 😂. Dad even ask why do I work so hard, saying I already have a house and a good job just take it easy. I went on to accumulate x20 times what I had. Not all Asian parents push their kids or see us as investments 👌
But my husband said if my parents had pushed us, I would have done so much better 😅. Either way, please be grateful to your parents. No one is perfect, forgive your parents for their imperfections. You will be a parent one day and you will know it's very very tough to be a parent. Parenting is the hardest thing of all for me.
@@steph4922 this a rather strange and unbelievable comment you made. First half of your comment was you stroking your own ego, really gross. Some Private Reports have circulated about Chinese students taking their lives due to exam failures or overlooked homework assignments. To address this, many Chinese schools have installed safety nets to deter further tragedies. Dropping out or skipping school is strictly prohibited in China, with authorities enforcing attendance through legal measures, including imprisonment. Students are compelled to succeed in the Gaokao exams and are forbidden from fleeing the country or challenging the authority of the Chinese Communist Party.

Then I got into a Masters program. Now as I approach graduation, no one wants to pay a living wage still. Master degree in university to get delivery food job.
This is a thing in the West also. Many graduates working in coffee shops or Amazon.. I suppose for people who had fun in uni it's ok, but if they found it tiresome then what a waste of time
The CCP has been a tragedy for China ... 🙄😔
They look like 'walking dead!!!'
Child abuse.
By the CCP
It's the same thing in east asian countries such as south korea or Japan. There's only one way around, you either have flying colours in the gaokao ( college entrance exam) or you will become a menial worker. In a society like that of china or in many nations, blue-collar jobs are often perceived as filthy and low-paid. That's why every student tries so hard to scrape into one of those top tier universities in order to get a decent job in big cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing or Wuhan.
Not even Japan is this stressful.
In fact, its getting a bit better in that regard because parents know how stressful it is to live like that, and change how they rise their children.
Not sure what is happenning in Korea, but I heard is really hard competition.
The Average keeps raising the bar, which leaves alot of people behind.
You see the same with careers in technolgy, which you have to learn so many skills beyond the norm to have a chnace in the industry.
While those at the top will continue to pluck candy out of the hands of a baby.
Even the voice over is emotionally flat
You can see why they have the lay down movement.
Can't fight vs a system and things wrongs if you dont have the energy to do it.
They're well trained not educated
Consider the situation of mainland tourists traveling to Hong Kong. Imagine a student attempting to flee either China or Hong Kong. Even if they find temporary refuge in Hong Kong, authorities possess the means to locate visa violators. Upon apprehension, these individuals risk deportation back to China, where they could face severe repercussions. Similarly, cases resembling illegal immigration at the Mexico border lead to repatriation to mainland China. Upon return, they may be subject to detention and compelled to retake the Gaokao exam. Failure to pass could result in punitive measures, such as deprivation of food until successful completion of the exam.
Could’ve all been avoided with the correct foreign policy.. but no ambitions got too big.. change starts from within..
Excellent comment. I've been thinking the same thing. The CCP has done all of this to the people. Very sad.
It's a big upgrade from the great leap forward, no mass famine.
@@helloicanseeu2*no mass famine, so far!
same here in Vietnam, the thing is that our backpacks are way more lighter, memorization is still a big problem
CCP prof does not mention causes at all.

No money, no happiness☠️
Hmmm... 🤨
Live in in African hut big happiness
@@harmhoeks5996 good for you then, however life is harsh without money.
@@dannyzero692 hmm.. maybe i would trade in all my money if i had 2 healthy children of my own
Education will always be trumped by influence.
You could be the most useless layabout ever, but if you can get someone in power to create a fake job for you that pays the big bucks (like most government jobs) you’ve got it made!
Unemployment rate is more than 50%
The failing of my enemies is like music to my ears.
So uhh, suffering of innocents on a enormous scale is to you music?, depends on the person I guess.
Bro has beef with random children
@@PelicanMobBoss no, just pork
@priestofronaldalt They took out jobs, made us dependent on them, and are the only "high class" place keeping communism in the black, it's not just music it's a grand orchestral score
Adults - work 8, play 8, sleep 8 = 24 hours
Kids - work 7 (school not including recess, breaks, and lunch), play 7, sleep 10 = 24 hours + with summers off
Not following this can lead to burnouts, mental or physical fatigue, stress, and illness.
It can lead to severe mental problems in children, they are destroying their kids for homework
that doesn't matter.
Then they will wonder why NO ONE HAS KIDS or GETS MARRIED THEY'RE FUTURE AS A NATION IS DOOMED!!
Now this may not be the time for "will be taking those jobs back once China kicks it" but we'll be taking those jobs back when China kicks it.
It’s horrible! I can’t believe people put up with this life! Aren’t there any people who’ve dropped out? If not, I’d start a trend. Move to the rural areas and live simply.
Just imagine how much time you could spend the stuff you like instead of this bs
Its too depressing and sad. So much potential and not being able to use it.
It’s similar in the USA too, thankfully there aren’t any bearings but it seems like the whole modern western world needs a better education system and overhaul among other issues
Education in China really sucks, because kids has been working harder and they need more rest
The prescription for China: Universal Basic Income, independent labor unions, strict limits on hours per week, and job sharing.
Is there no homeschooling in China? Children learn best when Learning is play. Or taught in an environment that is more relaxed and loving.
It's ilegal, same story in Romania.
The world just needs a reset at this point. Every country is becoming like this and it’s sad 😅
I work at a university in China. The kids are smart and diligent. Life is studying and work. You've got to get a good education in order to earn a living when you get older. Such is life. Just put in the work for a few years, then go earn a good living. And choose a good paying major or you will have a problem. Same like in the U.S.
And what's the difference?
Imagine thinking you’re competent because you have a diploma
Such a tragedy for the young!
I see a generation of kids who are not only aren't able to operate as normal adults but will also come to hate their parents and previous generations and potentially destroy social system they come to hate.
All that for unemployment. Better to be child laborer in a factory, at least you find a job this way 💀
Plus side, homeschooling is growing in China and the parents have a lot more empathy and understanding one on one with the kids than the school system.
Those parents have balls of titanium knowing that they could face getting an injection in a police van.
@@ericliu5491 CCP seems be promoting it. It's on state media.
They might lose social credits for that ( not joking china actually have regulations for that )
I saw state media promoting it but idk the full story of course.
Artificial Intelligence will make all that effort seamless.
Thank you!
Gotta teach them from a young age how bad they are gonna have it in the ccp
All that education. They can look forward to Xi's plan for their future. Rural 3rd world country agriculture.
Ask anyone who has a degree in film and television if they have EVER had a job in that industry. In ANY city in ANY company, anywhere on the world.
So she’s realised she’s not Spielberg. 🤦🏼♀️ dear oh dear!
Seriously. This example is a dumb choice. 🤦🏼♀️
I was an ESL teacher in China until 2014.
It was bad then, but not this bad. Seeing how it was going, I realized I REALLY did not want my daughter going to Chinese school.
In Canada, she's happy and doing well enough in school.
the chinese government really have no idea … these kids are suffering
