- Dave & Phil Alvin with the Guilty Ones, performing Marie Marie & So Long Baby Goodbye, live at the Make The Music Go Bang Festival. The Observatory. Santa Ana, CA on 09/20/2014. This is the full version with intro and band introductions.
Marie Marie - a classic. Dave Alvin - What a guitar player!
the great Lisa Pankratz on drums. Solid as a rock!
roughtake YEA!!!!!!!
Erik Lund
I like how Phil is digging through his pockets, maybe looking for that ticket to ride in a long white Cadillac?!?
Tight. Tight as a drum.
Shes awesome !
She is tight!
Flo and Eddie Bongos in the Black!! Mothers of invention- great hommage. When I was a young lad in the '80s I loved playing the Blasters in the band. We did Marie Marie, American Music, and Border Radio. What a talented piece of America these brothers are!!!
those 80s Blasters albums are great and i absolutely LOVE the self titled album, it is one of my all time favorite albums. Marie Marie and Border Radio to me are two of the greatest roots rock songs of all time. and all those other tracks are spectacular as well.
Good band, good songs good singers...Great to have Dave and Phil together with the Guilty Ones.
MAKE THE MUSIC GO BANG ! gawd Im glad I found this! Wish I cudda been there. Y'all have amazing shows out in them thar' parts. Lol
God F’ing damn! Show me anything better, ever! Ya gotta love these guys!
that was some great music! thanks so much 4 posting!!
I like how the person behind the camera turned around and did a pan of the crowd, the venue, the setting. That's an equally important element in live music.
I wish more people who take videos at shows would do this.
Terrific , loving the drum works !
Dave & Phil...ROCKIN' STILL!
That drummer. Wow in so many ways. :-o
Luv these guys SO MUCH! THANKS!
All that AND the HOTTEST drummer on the planet.
Was there and oooh so good
One of my all time favorite bands!
Absolutely fantastic!
What incredible song writing and performing! Wow!
Terrific harp, Phil! Wow!
When Dave is on point he's one of the most under-rated Guitar players out there.
American Legends.
God damn f’ing yeah! We are sooooooooo much cooler then anyone today! Been telling the kids that for years. Enlighten the masses!
fantastic
Great drummer, good footage
Good stuff!!
Got to take part in the ladies' dance party in the red jacket with Morgan
Wow what a guitar player, he can play all day. Still fire the soundman, can't hear the singer. Even with a direct blast (no pun intended) from that Fender Amp. Got to hear the singer or it isn't a song.
Most unusual style of guitar playing I have seen..
They do a nice rendition of Break on Through by The Doors between the two songs.
Dave is noodling around during that and plays "Dog Breath" by Frank Zappa
Jeff Ho dancing in the background
Ok everybody, lets all play at different tempos.
Dave Quoted Zappa!
Wow
Lisa Pankratz !
Damn bro
Phil looks a lot like the old Clint Eastwood
Somebody turn Phil up a bit.
Wail Dave, You're a great guitarist, but a little too experienced to be posturing like that. Keep playing! What's up with your brother and the poor vocals. No sound check?
The awful slide guitarist totally messed it up!
best version is from Shakin' Stevens
Congratulations....You lose the internet today...
Shakin Stevens is a clown impostor from Wales of all places... One the plus side since Dave wrote the song apparently he made a whole lot of money in royalties from the clown...
Dave and Phil are the real deal...
No
Browse to the Blasters (Dave and Phil) video of their version at Farm Aid and I think you will change your mind. Ken Dolman (sorry to post as a guest)
