As a Malaysian, watching this is heartbreaking and enraging. Yes but we didn't think Jho Low was wrong because he stole money, but because of his association with Najib. For us, anything and anyone connected to Najib Razak was bad news.
Let's be honest here, Jho is just the scapegoat, that's what always happens to middle man people, even now authorities are going after the middle people, lawyers, acountants, bankers etc, the true profiteers' money has all been laundered already, like arts and jewelleries and investments, that's where all the money disappeared to, which can no longer be recovered or just very time consuming, decades maybe. If you think a PM will give someone access to billions of dollars without oversight, you're more naive then we give you credit for. Remember, even before Najib became PM, as a defense minister, this guy already wasted hundreds of millions or even billions in dead end military purchases that amounted to nothing. Corruption, oligarchy, bumiputra policies, Malaysia was already going downhill long before, he just pushed it over the edge and gave the Malaysian people a hard awakening.
He has no idea how many futures he robbed of Malaysian kids. Kids like me who had to grow up in schools that were in shambles because there was no money to invest in them. Money that he stole. He forced so many talented kids to leave our homes to seek opportunities overseas. I will never forgive him for his actions. None of us Malaysians will, ever.
Well said- but even if there was enough money the non Malay children would not have access to it- the parents would have to work hard to fund their children overseas. Apartheid exists in Malaysia unfortunately.

This video is the most comprehensive account of this saga that I’ve seen. It answered a lot of questions I had from watching it spill out over the years in bits and pieces from the news cycle. It’s fascinating that Jho Lo claims he’s done nothing wrong! Oh, so that incredible spending spree came from his own personal coffers? Where’s the 6 billion capital from the two bond offerings, Jho?

@belltowndaisy - that may be so but that would be on them. At least some of it could have been used as intended. Right now the government has none of the money and they are on the hook for all of it. Jho was not the only one who took money but he was the principal player at the center of this scam and he definitely got the lion’s share.
Our Royal Malaysian Police intelligence unit spotted Jho Low in Hong Kong and have requested the Hong Kong Police to detain and extradite Jho Low to Malaysia but the request has been denied which is pretty clear that something shady is happening between Jho Low and Hong Kong Police. How in the world could a law enforcement agency rejected a request to detain and extradite an Interpol and FBI wanted man?? Hong Kong Police are also corrupted now
Sadly, this has been / is going on everyday, all over the world, especially on Wall Street. What's a miss here is Martin Scorsese & Leonardio DiCaprio both have more than enough money to finance their own picture irregardless of any outside funds needed from major studios, why would they source their financing from an unknown investor such as Jho Low to fund "The Wolf of Wall Street."
Nice video! Here's some info to clarify at the beginning: It's not Wharton University, it's the undergraduate program of the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton Business School.
As much as I despite Netflix docs for their lies and disinformation, at least they use actual footage and photos of their subjects. This method of using random movie clips to illustrate the story is a bizarre and lazy way to make a documentary.
Jaw dropping at Jho Low's intelligence but tragically he used it in the wrong way. With such a cunning sharp mind he could have help humanity and enjoy a greater rewards, instead of a short term success that ends in tragedy. So in the end he isn't smart, just plain stupid
TL;DW it's pretty straight forward: Zholo's parents were rich enough to send him to an exclusive boarding school in England then crazy elitists universities in the US. This isn't slumdog millionaire, a rich kid got to know richer kids and inserted himself in their lives eventually weaseling ways to manage their money or get their investments, to the point where he controlled an entire counties sovereign wealth fund.
Jho Lo started his carrier in Malaysia by being the adviser to TIA. Terengganu Investment Arm. 1MDB in turn bought TIA. Maybe from the advice of Jho Lo for his forthcoming scheme. Incidently Jho Lo's father got massive projects from the former PM in East Malaysia. They are friends. The former PM wanted to destroy Najib. Do you see the connections?
The connections you've highlighted between Jho Lo, TIA, 1MDB, and the former PM are indeed intricate and fascinating. It's remarkable how intertwined these relationships are in shaping Malaysia's political and financial landscape.

Yes, he was very clever, a super technically capable confidence trickster but no matter how good a salesman he was, he could never pull out such superdeals without the authority of the politicians and oligarchs who are really the clever people. They are free and living the high life while this guy takes the fall, although they haven't caught him yet.
So what country doesn't have government workers stealing money or assets?
You really think the oligarchs and the politicians are the clever people? Don't be that delusional please
@@sonny9511 at least clever enough to dumb the masses
Absolutely, that is the truth. The power and brains are really in the hidden people. As usual.
please ask your English teacher the meaning of ......takes the fall
Jordan Belfort thinking Jho's money was stolen, game recognize game
I feel Jho Lo isn't alone in this scam, some highly ranked Malaysian officials are in with him, theres no way they couldn't foresaw the scam, I think maybe the niece is with him or even Najib himself
Well, that is what it is claimed-
He is the scrap goat who has gotten away. There are powerful forces plying this water
This is how a few people can change the fate of a country..
I feel it’s crazy to talk about a man who is scamming money but then yet to promote something that can earn you over 200% a year on something that’s literally impossible
Quite ironic.
"You wouldn't spend money you worked for like this" - Jordan Belfort knows what's up ;D
This is very well said
It's insane that this level of quality can be for free. Huge props to the people running this channel.
it's not?
Remember. If you're not paying for a product, then YOU are the product.
You do know that you are paying for it right?
As a Malaysian this guy is the single most hate people ever , but still thats a very impressive villain arc its just sad that Malaysia would never recover from what he does atm
It's a very interesting story too, he took" fake it till you make it" to another whole level, still he himself is the richest scammer to this day.
He’s not even close to the most hated person, nor does he deserve to be.
Coming from an Indian, this is what happens when you trust a single party of government way too much. Literally the Eastern region of the globe is full of fraudulent scamsters. My country as well. People don't speak and these scammers carry on!
Jho Low is the living definition of YOLO
It's crazy that there is probably an even bigger scam, but the perpetrator just hasn't been caught.
and another one is being cooked
Every time I think I’ve heard the biggest scam story another one tops it, it’s disgusting how easy it is for them to get away with it.
That’s huge what you just said. Shows how in the dark we all are. We don’t know shit is happening until after it’s gone down and by then it’s far too late. Not sure where to put the blame in the that regard
He is a very smart guy,not a scammer,,good for Him ,, 👍
Im sure there is multiple going on as we speak.
There is homeless and hungry little children all over the world. Gotta be the result of a scam
Honestly the celebrities showing up and performing for money makes perfect sense and no that doesn't just mean in the sense of being on stage. These are people who's very skillset is performance art you want them to look and act the part and you have the money to pay that is what you get. Most of them probably see it like a short term improv gig. The events were fake so actors and performance artists really are the best sort of talent to hire this is what they do best putting on a show.
If only he put all his connections to good use, he'd have been a highly successful businessman. Sadly he wasn't willing to work for money to understand the value of its importance.
This video and its likes successfully helped Malaysian voters make the wise choice in the '18 and '22 elections.
I actually know nothing about Malaysian politics, who did they elect?
In 2018, we elected our former and the 4th Prime Minister, Mahathir Mohamad, but his party got booted out after he promised to elect Anwar Ibrahim as the next PM after his term but in reality, he dont
So came the next General Election in 2022 and this time, Anwar's party won the majority and we have a coalition party ruling M'sia right now
Yo. That whistle blower is a fkn legend 😂
I was taught that early on in life the reckless spending means it wasn't gained legitly The richest people are the most low key most of the time
This guy is my neighbour flat in Penang, Malaysia. His car number is also No.1 always park in front my shop once a month before he got caught with the Malaysian Prime Minister.
You're a machine pumping out this calibre of content two days in a row!
I think he should take it easy. Don't want him to end up like Jake Tran, which eventually became a sellout.
You beat me to this comment haha
He has a team of people
next upload would be "The downfall of Jake Tran"
I keep on getting $38,000 every week from a new trading platforms in town which Elon recommends
i've been a huge fan of MagnetsMedia for about two years now. When I discovered the channel, the documentaries were already top-notch. But right now, this is level of production quality is just through the roof. Man, you've kept improving your game steadily with every new video you publish. At this point, I just can't afford to skip a MagnetsMedia documentary when I see one.
Exactly how I feel!
Magnates! Not magnets
@@rowannadon7668 Correct!
I found out This channel about 2 months ago. I subscribed this channel at my first video. All the reasearch Magnet Media Makes is awesome I couldn't agree more with you.
Thanks!

Jhow Low is only the vehicle for the robbery. The mastermind is Najib and his UMNO cronies. Najib has already been jailed. There are hundreds if not thousands of his cronies who should all be charged.
Coffers
@@missbearlockholmes - didn’t you know there’s a lot of money to be had in hair styles? Oops! Thank you.
@belltowndaisy - that may be so but that would be on them. At least some of it could have been used as intended. Right now the government has none of the money and they are on the hook for all of it. Jho was not the only one who took money but he was the principal player at the center of this scam and he definitely got the lion’s share.
17:40 I guess only a thief can truly know another of his kind 😂
dude was like hmmm ive seen this before
same goes for the original poster
Our Royal Malaysian Police intelligence unit spotted Jho Low in Hong Kong and have requested the Hong Kong Police to detain and extradite Jho Low to Malaysia but the request has been denied which is pretty clear that something shady is happening between Jho Low and Hong Kong Police. How in the world could a law enforcement agency rejected a request to detain and extradite an Interpol and FBI wanted man?? Hong Kong Police are also corrupted now
Definitely, ever since mainland began exerting direct control over hong kong its gone to shit.
You forgot ccp don't want to let go him because he is holding Goldman Sach secret with him
Sadly, this has been / is going on everyday, all over the world, especially on Wall Street. When sht hits the fan, we just call it "financial crisis, etc." while banks / politicians still walk away / make millions. Also a perfect example of our greed....if you can "free money" how can you stop....at one point, I think you would lose the concept of currency / money
How do government officials become millionaires with a salary of a hundred thousand or so? Graft, enabling people like Jho Low.
My dad’s family and his family actually were close friends in penang last time. He grew up with my dad until adulthood where they both lived in the same apartment which I still live in today. After his heist he cut all contact with my family and disappeared.
I just want to know how many people work on a single video for this channel. These videos are incredibly well done!
^^Thanks for watching, 📥 i got something to introduce you to.
Man you are one of my favourite youtubers right now, the quality of content and depth of info is insane!
He literally promoted a ponzi scheme directly to you. He's a fraudster just like the ones he talks about.
Damn you're releasing bangers after bangers. Really loved your content!
Watched this as the year ends. Made me reflect on what I have. You, sir, deserve my respect. Thank you for this video. Truly.
This guy is the only guy who can talk about a scam, then sound like the exact scam but not be a scam.
How the heck did he spend almost a billion in less than 5 years 😂
Wow, you did thorough research on Jho Low. Even the authorities are scratching their heads on how this scam came about.
Maybe they're his friends.. 😂
Being rich sounds great. I cant believe all the best stuff in life is locked behind a social construct of money😢
The funny part is he had the networks and power to actually be successful instead of stealing the money lmao he could've made it work.
It is faster to steal
@@yulopthegreat except on that scale he's better off making genuine fucking business because it really is faster to make money when you're already at the top

“How does a guy born on a small Malaysian island end up becoming friends with Hollywood stars…” - His parents were millionaires and he grew up with Billionaires, bro.
He's richer than the Hollywoods..
When Jordan Belfort said he didn't trust Jho Low I just thought, takes one to know one.
im from the Philippines and our idiot government just passed the bill for our "sovereign wealth fund" with the track record of our politicians, i just fear for the worst
Maharlika funds?
Fantastic video editing and the clear storyline Behind it
The fact that he funded the wolf of Wall Street is actually pretty funny, wouldn't have wanted it funded any other way.
Best video you’ve ever made
Great upload again
Thank you Magnates
Please tell the names of the movies who's clips are used in the video.
love how both the sponsors on this video are clearly scams, really testing if your audience pays attention lmao
You know😂😂 the irony
That what I found hilarious and you're the first person that has pointed it out lol
There's so many layers to it. A scammer used scammed money to fund a movie about a scammer. And the video covering it has an ad for a scam.
Scammer talking about scammer
Epic content 😎👌Jho Low makes Hushpuppi look like a boyscout..
Thank you for the story. As someone from Singapore, I've heard of bits and pieces of the scandal but never saw the full picture. This is very informative.
Great work once again Comrade.
An excellent piece of investigative journalism, great video editing and equally great and interesting narration. Kudos😃🙏
Belfort not liking Jho Low oddly reminds me of Aizen going against Yhwach in bleach, former villain vs current villain
How did he make his editing even better than it was???

It's not him don't bother
So detailed and clearly... Amazing 🔥🔥👏🏽
J-Lo: wanted by many
J Low: wanted by authorities
What's a miss here is Martin Scorsese & Leonardio DiCaprio both have more than enough money to finance their own picture irregardless of any outside funds needed from major studios, why would they source their financing from an unknown investor such as Jho Low to fund "The Wolf of Wall Street."
Because they didn't want to risk their own money, obviously.
Other people's money.s**ly😂😂😂
Goldman are one of the biggest facilitators of financial crimes and yet they never attract the scrutiny they deserve

only a scammer who can detect another scammer
because they lived that lifestyle.
he knew it.
These vids are better than Netflix’s documentaries 👏
As much as I despite Netflix docs for their lies and disinformation, at least they use actual footage and photos of their subjects. This method of using random movie clips to illustrate the story is a bizarre and lazy way to make a documentary.
Awesome title and nice video man :]
Thank you for the information
Jaw dropping at Jho Low's intelligence but tragically he used it in the wrong way. With such a cunning sharp mind he could have help humanity and enjoy a greater rewards, instead of a short term success that ends in tragedy. So in the end he isn't smart, just plain stupid
Could've helped humanity by stealing? Sure that works🙄
Robin Hood
There’s a book which explores Jho Low and his crimes. It’s called “Billion Dollar Whale”. I recommend it to get the ins and outs of how he did it.
TL;DW it's pretty straight forward: Zholo's parents were rich enough to send him to an exclusive boarding school in England then crazy elitists universities in the US. This isn't slumdog millionaire, a rich kid got to know richer kids and inserted himself in their lives eventually weaseling ways to manage their money or get their investments, to the point where he controlled an entire counties sovereign wealth fund.
what does TL;DW mean
@@preciousnicole6516 Too long, didn't watch.
