Oh My Goddess! I LOVE your videos. You are so natural. I'm shocked you have older kids. I thought you were in your early 20's. You tell great stories and I enjoy how you weave your message. You've become my favorite flight attendant channel. More please. Thank you.
Loved this video! The way you related the story was very touching and you gave such good advice. I'm a former FA who wants to go back to flying but feel very rusty with interviewing. Your tips are going to be very helpful. Thank you!
This was so helpful. My f2f is in a couple days so I’m doing as much research as possible so I know I did my best to get the CJO. Love how you were able to be transparent and open up to them 👏🏾
Hi Marissa, My name is Marcus and I am an aspiring FA. I really enjoyed this video. Now I am a subscriber and look forward to watching more. Thank you soooo much for sharing your experience with the interview process, i think it will really help a lot!!!
My story is similar to yours. May I ask how old you were when you became a FA and how old your kids were when you finally felt it was time to go for your dream job? Thank you for sharing.
United airlines asked me situational questions. Delta wanted to know about my past work experience. American had fun questions and then fun group activities. In all three of the interviews I believe that everyone’s behavior observed intensely. I smiled non-stop, kept perfect posture, made small talk with all the other interviewees and tried to mingle with as many people as I could. I interviewed twice with United, once with Delta and once with American. Most people don’t hired their first time around. My advice to anyone trying to be a flight attendant is to keep trying. I believe that I improved with each interview I went on. I really love my job.
I have a f2f this month and your reasons really resonated with me, because I also had first little one at age 21, and another much later, so been responsible for others for a LONG time which has been a blessing, but knowing I can do this for me still feels daunting because I've always planned everything around someone else. Did you struggle with the six weeks of training and being gone, and how has being gone for trips been for you? It truly is hard to wrap my head around being gone because I've never had the option, if that makes sense? I'll also have to commute and that adds extra days.
I’m so excited for you! Follow your dream. Actually, it was so nice to be in training and not having to worry about chores at home. It felt like a vacation of sorts 😂😊. Around week 4 I had a couple of evenings of feeling homesick but that passed. Many of us felt that way around the week 4 mark. Perhaps at week it’s the realization that you’re so close to being a flight attendant that you start to panic a little bit. My advice is to just take it one day at a time and enjoy your time in training. I’m glad that I didn’t give into feeling homesick. I can’t describe how special graduation is. You’ll feel a huge sense of accomplishment and excitement. I’m not an emotional person but everyone including myself was emotional on that day. Full of good emotions, of course. It’s challenging in many ways but you will come out stronger and wiser. Being gone on trips has been good, I missed the holidays at home, but I celebrated in different ways like before or after the actual holidays. On a positive note I got to see the Christmas lights in LONDON! Commuting hasn’t been bad at all. I made it through probation without ever being late. There are so many flight attendants that commute. I’ve met a flight attendant that commutes from Hawaii to Miami. I even met one who commutes from Hungary! After 1 year you will have a schedule every other month. I don’t have a crashpad in Miami because I bid for trips when I’m scheduled to work so I have layovers with hotels. Everything will fall into place. Just go with the flow or as they say….be a 🌴.
@@thegirlwithaquirkyside4507 thank you! I totally agree about the "reality setting in and panicking" part. I totally want to do this and know I can, then I have a moment when I think about the commuting and start to panic! But hearing your positive experience is so great! I also watched another video where you talk about making the most of your base and staying positive! I love your attitude and I think having had a lot of life experiences, on top of raising kiddos, makes older flight attendants resilient and able to go with the flow. I hope you keep making more videos...I haven't watched them all but the Mexican food in Cancun may just make any commute worth it!! 😂
You brought me to tears! We have a similar story including a child at 19 and buried dreams. Congrats! 🎉
That is awesome!
