I feel so old because I know this narrator's voice... he's Mark Tewksbury and he was an elite swimmer. He won a gold medal for Canada at the Olympics during the '90s.
No way. All this time I thought scientists spent millions of dollars to go to the moon, collect the cheese and then return back to Earth. Boy was I living in a lie.
+Nina Ann I love animals, so before I say my next bit, take note that I do honestly love animals. The way the handlers treat animals doesn't stop people from eating it. Guilt tripping people doesn't stop people from eating it. Showing them videos on the horrid slaughter, doesn't stop people from eating it. Sometimes these things work for the peeps that can't stomach the images. But before people started bulking animals up with steroids and beating the animals and all that cruelty, people still ate animal products. Not every animal far mistreats animals. 9/10 it's slaughter houses. You don't have to slaughter a cow to get its milk. To top it off, not every farm uses machines to extract the cow's milk either. Some farms don't even keep their animals in stables [unless the day is over]. So before you spread the whole animal rights thing, know that not every cow was harmed for the making of this video. Maybe check out that pig video that pops up. You might actually have an argument under those comments.
There is a mistake in the comment. The tank showed at 0:40 feeds in to the separator shown at 0:49. Its basically a centrifuge. From the centrifuge there are two separate flows, cream and skimmed milk. Both pass a pasteurizer.
Ik this comment is 10years old, but I think he mixed up the separator and pasteurizer. The tank @ 0:40 looks a balance tank on a pasteurized and the one at 0:49 is the separator.
3:09 *guy sees the camera crew and noticed the guy touching the cheese* "Here we go again! Daniel, why did you contaminate the cheese? Now we have to make a new batch dammit!"
+August Le you could skip the cheese & the hamburger, & have a lettuce,cucumber& lettuce sandwich,your heart will thank you.Thats what i had for dinner.:)
Hehe, that guy in the background during 3:08. I swear he must be thinking. "Don't you dare touch the cheese without gloves!" Seeing as how they like to sterilize everything. Scandalous!
We have Breakfast, Dinner, Tea, and Supper =) The only really big meal is supper. Breakfast is light, dinner is a light meal, tea is often just a small sandwhich or such, and supper is protean and more food.
@MrLolcow pastureize, heated etc breaks and morphs proteins within milk, milk within the grocery store is not raw, its been pasturized, and skimmed and minerals have been added
I now want to be allergic to cheese, apparently when you are in a cheese factory, people are out off it, for life. This video explains why my body does not digest this too well....
it is amazing how cheese is made. at six AM each day trucks arrive at all the worlds cheese, milk, yogurt, and ice creme plants ready to dump their loads which just came from the cow who was milked four hours before. once the milk arrives and is weighed at the scale house it goes into one of 27 wash booths where the truck is emptied and washed before it leaves for the afternoon run. the milk is then transferred to 36 holding silos where it is stored at subzero temperatures to keep the cream from settling. once the plant is ready the milk is pumped into the pasteurization tower which is the skyscraper like building in the middle of the plant where harmonization and pasteurization are done to heat the milk and boil off the cream. lab test are done through out the process to remove bacteria and excess cream and milk fats are drawn off and sent to the yogurt plants or is turned into ice cream. after the milk has settled and has cooled down it is pumped into the cooker where starter bacteria, salt, cheese powder, food coloring, and rennet are added. the mix must be stirred to separate the whey from the cheese any excess is pumped out and separated with the good portion sent to yogurt and ice creme plants the bad portion will be sent back to the dairy farms and dumped. once the cheese has formed it is pumped onto the forming table and the last ounces of whey are removed. the curds are cut and salted and pressed into 30 lbs molds in the molder any cold curds are sent back to the cooker before they are molded mozzarella and Proceeded American require multiple heating and cooling to make it runny. once the cheese has been molded each block or wheel is dumped into a three mile canal filled with brine once the cheese emerges from the tank it is separated into lanes mozzarella and cheddar are sent to packaging, sharp cheddar and Colby are sent to the wax tanks, and Processed American is sent is sent back to the cooker where it is pumped into cans or remolded into slices. with in 24 hours milk goes from its raw form into cheese ready for sell at your supermarket.

The cheese curds before the molding are delicious with a little bit of salt. Nothing compared to a finished cheese, but still really tasty.

Thanks this really helped me make cheeseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
hey, when is the fermentation process?
@shawingz369 ...No.
Just because it contains cheese doesn't make it bland.
Just as the water in coca cola doesn't make IT bland.
@radkerson A clean, open palm is just the same as a plastic glove -- only it's more real. People today don't seem to understand that it's true.
