      @@AurforeRhodontis No, they don’t use hydrogenated palm oil. read the label, it will say if it has hydrogenated oil. Palm oil by nature is about 50% saturated, so it is really common in shelf stable products.
      Here in America, if it is under .5g of trans fat per serving, it is technically allowed. Manufacturers get around the “ban” by mixing hydrogenated oil with regular oil. It’s sus, but you can see it pretty clearly in the ingredeints

    Peanut butter was always expensive in my country, so we never bought it. Since I never even saw it, I actually thought that it's equal to Nutella, and peanut butter is just how it's called in America. I think I was eather 19 or 20 years old when I first tasted real peanut butter. My first thought was:
    Hmmm, this is really a... buttery peanut mixture.
    I fully got it then, why is it called peanut butter. Ever since then, mum started to buy it, and I officially fell in love with it.

      I have celiac disease. Having even a crumb of bread or other wheat/barley/rye in my food or drink causes me severe swelling and intestinal bleeding, and an increased risk of cancer with every incidence. Know what I did when I was in school? I shut up and did the best I could instead of whining like a little bitch and demanding that bread and pizza be taken off the menu. Peanut allergies are NOT more severe than any other food allergy, and the often touted case of the child so allergic that "peanut dust" at the other end of the room could kill them has never been substantiated by science or medical records. Allergies should be taken seriously across the board, which they are. Those suffering from peanut allergies just tend to have a sense of entitlement about it. If your child cannot safely attend school without restricting what others can eat at lunch or at home, they are the problem, not every other child. If schools became wheat, egg, dairy, peanut, tree nut, fish, shellfish, red dye,and soy free- what would be left to eat? Why do those with peanut allergies believe others should be forced to accommodate them and only their allergies?

      +Xion Memoria the difference is that someone with celiac disease doesn't get an allergic reaction from having their food prepared in the same area as other gluten products. Even going near peanuts can trigger a reaction for people with more severe allergies. Not all allergies are the same

    The African American Doctor the narrator is speaking of is "The Plant Doctor" George Washington Carver.

    • @Kleineganz
      @Kleineganz 2 роки тому +5

      George Washington Carver was not a doctor, and he didn't invent peanut butter. He was known as "The Peanut Man" for inventing 300 other uses for peanuts, but peanut butter was not one of them.

    • @reasoning..
      @reasoning.. 2 роки тому

      @@Kleineganz So then pray tell who did invent peanut butter?

    • @Kleineganz
      @Kleineganz 2 роки тому +1

      @@reasoning.. the modern process for making peanut butter was patented in the US by Dr. John Harvey Kellogg (the founder of Kellogg's cereal), but peanut butter/paste originated among the ancient Maya and Aztec.

    • @jjdbzfan18
      @jjdbzfan18 2 роки тому

      @@Kleineganz it makes sense for a white man to have a patent on that since it was very hard for any blacks to own anything back then and yes the ancient Mayans/Aztecs were the inventors due to the geographical origin of the peanut. All in all and what I believe Mr. samuels was trying to convey was this product was derived from black and brown people and it should be duly noted. It seems like the narrator was being quite ambiguous.

    • @Kleineganz
      @Kleineganz 2 роки тому

      @@jjdbzfan18 So, George Washington Carver's 100 or so inventions for other uses for the peanut don't count? He lived at the same time and has been credited for his inventions. He only patented three, claiming the process was too time consuming and he'd rather work on inventing things.
      I think in this video the narrator chose to remain ambiguous because to cover the full history of peanut butter would have been a much longer video. The focus here was on the modern process of making peanut butter, and it is that process that Dr. Kellogg patented (not the "invention" of peanut butter itself).
