- Great Dane & Brindle Mastiff Playing
I had so much fun watching these 2 giants play. This was their first time meeting each other. Even though they are huge, focus on body language and their patterns. That will teach you more about dogs than the sheer size of them. - Домашні улюбленці та дикі тварини
Wonderful and respectful dogs
Thank you Ian for sharing esp behavioural between dogs
You're welcome
Nice looking horses lol !!!
two of my favorite dog breeds
Yes they are!
Nice to see an owner that can discern dog behavior
Thank you
I got one in India he is 2 1/2 looks similar the just are adorable
You can see the mastiff get more comfortable. And have more fun playing as the video goes on .
It's so important to "ride the wave" when things are going well
It's good that you have kept him lean
thank you for sharing!! my English Daniff is 11 months old!!!! A mix of these hehe :)
Beautiful 💓
Thank you! 😊
Can I ask , please I have an intact male great dane 4yo. He's had minimal interaction with any dogs other than his family ( a bordercollie and a tiny chihuahua ) I'd like to have him be social and be fine around other male dogs .
Because temporarily I live with several fixed male dogs .
I can see a pattern of the mastiff trying to see if he can mount a little bit? The dane isn't letting him tho'.
Another question would be: what do you make of a dog that starts off like this (body language wise) but then, when the chase starts (after the staring and the bow), he goes directly into body contact even with dogs he just met (putting his mouth on them). They usually get scared & either are afraid or correct him. I coreect him too, but I don't want to overcorrect and don't let him play at all. Where is the line when I should step in?
The thing is he plays like this with the other dog I have, and that one is ok with it (the "troublemaker" grew up with him). Which reinforces his behaviour, and transfers it to other dogs. How do I make him more respectful to other (he is a japanese Akita, male, 8 mo, neutered).
Vermont Dog Trainer oh, of course, I am aware of that. I just don't want the little one to think the correction is for him playing or starting a chase. ;)
Mastiff is lean. Looks good
thanks great to watch, i have a Great Dane who is almost 2 and 72 kilos, he has a companion pet at home , which is an Australian Terrier. anyway a couple times i have taking the GD on his own, at an off lead park and when he sees a dog lets say half a k away, he looks at me then bolts and i have buckleys of chasing him, anyway he ended up at the other dog, so lucky that it wasn't aggresive and they both had a bit of a play and GD came back to me, George is his name btw..anyway yesterday it happened again, we walked out the bush me with GD and AT and there were 2 labradores playing with owner, George took off to play and Simon followed left me yelling for them, they was a altercantion, not too intense and George came walking back to me so yea picked up on the body language good thing id say that the Labs were well trained. this is a worrying thing for me, as i feel that one day may not be so lucky..
My Great Dane's name is also George. He's just over 2 years old and very lively.
Yea so is my George lol. And he will be 2 next month.
If they don't listen on leash it would be important to teach them how to behave on leash.
I've got a great Dane x mastiff looks like your mastiff colour and he tall like the great Dane has the head of a great Dane and legs and body he is a gentle giant kiwi his is name is only going on six months and he is already up to my hip love he so much he has a boarder healer she looks more like a Rottweiler they play loud but they don't use there mouth nice dogs they play the same way my dogs do wish I new how to put photo up of my great Dane x mastiff
What type of mastiff is the brindle dog
English
I could be wrong, but it looks like the great dane male was neutered and the mastiff wasn't.
Could the possible unbalanced testosterone levels help in this socialization?
Vermont Dog Trainer . I have a female great dane that is 14 months old and a Neapolitan Mastiff male that is 4 months old. I'm constantly socializing both of them and training them. Amazing Giants!
Both were neutered
Only thing i saw that might become an issue if they were playing too long is the Mastiff was trying to sniff the Dane, and Dane had his tail up the whole time (not always a bad thing). but with that posture and not allowing the other dog to at least sniff quicky the Mastiff can get irritated. Thats the only way fight would have broken out is from frustration
Possibly, but I can tell you that these 2 don't have a mean bone in their bodies....they are both quite goofy. :-)
@@VermontDogTrainer i can tell lol! Watching dogs rough house is so amusing 😄
But what you are not telling us is what does the pattern mean? Why are they doing this pattern?
Stephen Woods I can only venture a guess as I don’t claim to know what they are thinking.
For humans - we play games that have rules like soccer. If you watch soccer it appears to have patterns to it that everyone has agreed on. In this case, I believe that rules are established first so they can both decide on a game (pattern) that they both will enjoy.
How old is jasper
He is 3 at the time
What type of mastiff is this? Cane corso or presa canario?
The brindle is an English Mastiff, but technically, the Dane is a mastiff breed also.
I have an English mastiff HES getting old I think he’s 7. Any way he’s super sweet to people but to other dogs he’s a lil unsteady. He’s nice to some dogs but not all dogs. He’s still got his junk and doesn’t like them touched by other dogs. I want to get him friendly tho!!
The EM is small
He's just an adolescent. The Dane has him on height, but not weight.
What type of Mastiff is he?
English mastiff
Is there any other type of Mastiff though? Isn't "Mastiff" a synonym with "English Mastiff"?
@@srkucrickk Mastiff is a general term that means big dog. There are other mastiff breeds such as English, Bull, Great Dane, Rottweiler, Presa Canario, Dogo Argentino, Cane Corso, and Boerbeol.
@@srkucrickk I have a dogue de bordeaux cross and I just call him a mastiff to keep things simple. They are great dogs but require alot of attention and cleaning up after. They will repay and then some with there loyality though.
@@nealcollins2974 People often confuse mastiffs, which are mountain type dogs, such as the Spanish mastiff, kangal or central Asia. with dog type dogo/bulldog. like Argentine dogo canary presa or bordeaux dogo . They are very different dogs.
lawlz maggie dont giv a f
mucho chill
My daughter has an English mastiff. They are good for about 15-20 minutes of hard play and then she lays down. Lol.
From my experience that is quite common! :-)
Great dane body but the head looks like it might be a mix. The other thing is go clean up the Mastif's poop. It is a dog park so you should. Your also a repeater.
BBBYpsi i think it is his own personal dog park
Looks like private property to me :)
BBBYpsi , Greyhound almost
Guys... the Dane is 100% Great Dane. There are 2 types of Danes. American (like the guy in the video) and European (which have boxier heads and droopier eyes and mouths)
Here's a pattern for you: the Mastiff is going after the Dane's legs.
and neck...
@@homelessrobot yea my boy depends on what size of the dog will wrestle them with his hooves
I guess what you can glean from this,.. patterns.
I'm seeing patterns...not dogs😪
Those 3 dogs could of attacked you... they don't know better they eat meat we humans are meat every dog is human aggressive
Stop watching Cujo. It doesn't do any good for your intelligence.
