Hey Guys! In this video, we will show you how Brad's arms become the VR controllers and
how WalkinVR gives Brad the ability to play Beat Saber and Fruit Ninja in a way that works for him.
WalkinVR Driver is a software tool designed to make Virtual Reality Games and Applications more
accessible to those with physical limitations. It allows players to interact in the virtual world in a variety of adaptive ways and provides a set of features to assist players with disabilities in adapting VR games to their needs. The beta version of WalkinVR was released in 2017. Developer says the utilities excellent reception has encouraged him to keep working on it and developing more VR accessibility features to enable disabled gamers enjoy VR.
▶️ WalkinVR key features:
- adjusting the position of the controller
- virtual movement and rotation
- gameplay in vr with assistance
- reclined gameplay
- hand tracking
Beat Saber is a unique VR rhythm game where your goal is to slash the beats represented by small cubes as they are coming at you. Every beat indicates which saber you need to use and also the direction you need to match. All the music is composed to perfectly fit the handmade levels. Our goal is to make players almost dance while cutting the cubes and avoiding obstacles. Each cut is strongly supported by great sound and visual effects to emphasize the rhythm.

My brother has cerebral palsy. He’s an avid gamer. I’ve been excited about VR and the potential that it has for people with disabilities. It’s neat to see the progress being made for this technology to be accessible to everyone 😊. Thank you for providing such a succinct yet detailed video!
That's awesome!!! 🎮🎮🎮 We're so excited for the possibilities that it can open for people with disabilities too!!! - Brad
@@AllAccessLife I am also an avid gamer with cerebral palsy but I only have really one good arm
You guys work so hard in showing us the possibilities out there for the disabled. I love the effort you put into these videos and your messages behind them. I really hope nothing but the best for you two and that you keep producing such inspiring content. My gratitude.
Awwe, thank you so much for your kind words!!! 😁😁😁❤️That means so much to us!!! - Brad
Word. I appreciate the effort and quality at a time when the algorithm rewards creators that post often its hard to do that when you make quality videos.
With the new PSVR 2 coming out soon, since they're adding eye tracking i belive possibly future VR headsets like the quest might have a similar feature. If that ever happens then it opens more possibilities for accessibility.
That's amazing!!! 😁😁😁🔥🔥🔥🔥 We literally just Googled that, AWESOME!!! - Brad
Wow what a cool technological advancement! Glad to see VR can be inclusive 👍
Yessssss!!! 😁😁😁 We're glad that VR can be inclusive too!! - Brad
This is so encouraging. My elderly mom is legally blind and has very limited mobility in her hands and body but she can see content with the Oculus Quest 2! It opened up a whole new world for her. She can't push the buttons or control the toggle so I tried to cast to the TV to help her. Pointing and clicking are so difficult this way. The method you described here seems so promising. How can I find out more? Does the desktop computer need certain specs? What kind of cameras would work (a basic webcam, a fb portal)? Do you need a Steam account for walkinVR? I'm a newbie when it comes to Steam and the VR system. Where can I get basic instructions for setting all of this up? Thank you for posting this video.
You have no idea how much this struck my heart. I have no family or friends that have these issues, but it's always something that has made me sad. I'm so happy to see you working hard to give anyone the chance at continuing to be themselves. No matter what comes at them. ❤️
Hey you may not see this comment, but i just want to say that you're doing something really cool. VR/ eye tracking and those assistive technology is gonna be a huge market in the future, and what you show to the world is so meaningful. Thanks you for video.
Love from Hongkong
Thanks for this! I'd been wondering when there was going to be a solution for people with necks that can't support the weight of the headset.
Happy to help!!! 😁😁😁 - Brad
just about to finish my phd which was focused on vr accessibility seeing this is truely a pleasure to watch. been focused on a new 3d gui and also tremor removal. hope it is published soon with source code!
Dan & Brad you guys are amazing 👍🏻
❤️❤️😁😁😁😁
Seriously incredible!
It has opened up a whole new world for me!!! 🔥🔥🔥 - Brad
Well explained, so happy for Brad so fun!!!
Thank youuu!!! ❤️❤️😁😁 It's really fun!!! - Brad
This technology, video, and information mean a lot to me and my family. Finally, my father would be able to play games again, he had a cerebral thrombosis and can only move and feel the left side of his body. With the "Motion range and boost" option he could move the right controller with the controller attached to his knee with a belt and a 3D printed flight stick system to avoid wabbling, the only problem left to fix would be an easy way to press the buttons of the right controller as he would have to release the buttons on the left controller and move his left hand to the right controller on his knee and press the buttons, won't be able to do both simultaneously. Still, this amazing technology will give him the chance to play many games that are slow-paced I guess. Thank you so much for this video and I hope more people discover this and enjoy a second chance to have fun or more interactive therapy. Greetings from Chile!
This is so cool, I love this
I wish that there was a way to get funding for this kind of software!! I have a loved one with CP and have had some luck strapping controllers to her upper arms and helping her move them and press the buttons for her to make selections but the WalkinVR mods look like they'd be a godsend. She uses a Tobii eye gaze device and I see that they are also working on incorporating eye gaze into other VR headsets...so excited to see where this tech goes in the next few years!! It's amazing.

Thank you Sooooo much for making this video!!!! My son has cerebral palsy and I am doing some research on how it all works. Again thank you!!!!!!
Get him that new mmo VR. He will be able to go on adventures with other people!!!!
Thanks for mentioning this!!! 😁😁😃 We'll look into this!! - Brad
@@AllAccessLife the game is called zenith mmo.
I love everything about this!
Really cool stuff. I can't wait to see what happens next in the world of VR technology
We can't wait either!!! 🙌😃🎮 - Brad
Will check it out also
Nice video.

So cool!!!
Thanks Emilie!!! 😃😃😃😁😁 - Brad

Jaw dropping video. Let's go!
YESSSSS!!!!! 😁😁😁 Thanks man!!! - Brad
Hello guys!! At last I found what I've been looking for a long time. I have a disabled child. She is 12 years old. She has severe cerebral palsy. She is in a wheelchair. Which VR systems and games could be appropriate for her ? Could you give me some ideas please?
Amazing content guys!
Do you have a video on optimizing the VR for people like me with Low Vision, or those who are legally blind? Like High Contrast, Thickened Outlines, Text and UI scaling, Text to Speech/Screen Reader support?
Stay healthy and cheers from Philippines!
You guys are kicking ass.
Haha, thank you!!! 😁😁😂 - Brad
@@AllAccessLife -Brad aka B-Rad. I see you playa. Nah the editing, the scripting, the hard work is showing. I've been following the channel for years. I see the progress. I'm just an abled bodied guy that used to repair wheel chairs at a shop that sold adaptive tech. That's how I came across your channel. Keep up the good work.
This is so cool, I kinda want a VR headset too, but I don't think my parents will get me one
is there any settings for people with DMD "duchenne muscular dystrophy"? if there is can u make a video about the settings and do i need a camera for it ?
So what happens when someone isn't around to use another controller? This is awesome software. I am apart of a user side accessibility community who got the Quest 2 to help design the next generation or even the one after that And out of the box I am left as a manual wheelchair user way underwhelmed. Also the lenses are weird to look through and text gets mashed in areas that leave it unreadable. Text on images to the sides and even centering and enlarging it still leaves it unreadable and mashed. Pixelized.
I'm handicapped, I have CIDP and can't walk. I was wondering if I could play games sitting down. I was thinking of getting the Quest 3 by meta.
Can I play shooter games with my good right hand only ? My left hand is disabled.. any info would be greatly appreciated. I'm using a quest 2 .
Would this be possible with a steam deck instead of a computer?
Hi,
I'm still completely new to VR.
I'm interested in the Oculus Quest 2.
I can't walk. I am wheelchair bound. Also my motor skills are not 100%.
Can you tell me how I got this software ?
I would like to hear from you.
Renards,
Paul (from The Netherlands)
Could you please tell me what platform is your beat saber game on when you’re using walking VR? Is it launching through Steam as you’re on your Meta Quest or is it launching through oculus? I can’t seem to get this answer from anybody.
Thanks to my LL, I managed to get my headset all together and working, BUT, with a caveat... I found myself wondering how you guys managed to dispense with dealing with hand controllers. The only way I can think of getting into the virtual world beyond a lot of externals, is to implant electrodes directly into the brain and hook up to an Artificial Super Intelligence.
Viewed site company you shared does software, saying yearly price is $1400 yearly subscription. How much you much it for if individual use?
🔥🔥🔥🔥👌👌🔥👌🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yessssss Vic!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥😁- Brad
I need to get a Kinect? How did you make the rig for it?
Is there anyway to do this without a gaming pc? I have hand tracking enabled on my Oculus 2 but its limited in apps.
Why can't we use the joysticks to look and move? Like GTA V. What if someone has no arms? Or visually impaired people? The menus are to close to me how can I move them away like in Occlus Dash?
I am working towards making VR musical environments accessible to musicians I work with cerebral palsy and acquired brain injuries. I would like to ask you a question about accessibility and your experience. What features would you like to see in VR to help accessibility for you, for Brad on his own and with Dan faciliting Brad?
This is awesome. My daughter had down syndrome and she loves the new meta quest 3 and she can do the games, but she can't read, so I have to navigate the menus for her. There should be a way to manipulate the cast from the headset so others can help that way through the metaquest app.
So do you need a PC computer and Xbox along with the oculus 2 for that software to work?
You need a desktop computer, a VR headset and a compatible camera (in our case we are using the Kinect from Xbox but there are others you can use)
Is this only available for companies?
I haven't got into the video much yet but my my aunt can only move her head, neck up. I need her to experience something
My friend is a wheelchair. She can't complete first steps because she can't walk around.
i got cp and im just this
