  • Hello there, how are ya? Welcome back to ~How I Did It~This is video is of the fence guys I hired to fence the perimeter of the Off Grid Barn property. I stayed out of their way until they were finishing up the setting of 5 acres worth of wooden fence posts, and stretching out the 4 inch woven wire fence. I am so glad I hired this out, the saying "sometimes you just have to know your limits" comes to mind. Also, Just a little Bee roll at the end ;-)
Thanks again for watching, liking, and subscribing to my channel. Have a wonderful, and Blessed day.

My 5 acres off Hexam in Hernando county cast $120K per covid but it's now worth twice that.

I also have ag zoned 5 acres in Hernando county near Hexam and it's not that hard to setup a homestead. Yes, the county is the biggest hurdle but it can be done. Withlacoochee Electric will put up a temp pole if you give them a building permit. My permit isn't fully approved but I have power. I gave them the permit application number. I also put an RV plug and built a pad for an RV in which to live during construction. I have a well ($10K) and an approved septic plan so I'll be totally off grid if I want. Build your home ON-Grid and do whatever they say just to get it built then cut power later. Keep to power connection as a backup if you want. Withlacoochee Power is a co-op and is not for profit so the bills are cheaper than solar for now so you might want to postpone your initial off grid power plan for now.
I also plan to put an additional container home on the property without permit approval and run it into my primary oversized septic. I'll start it out as a temp storage building so the building dept can't stop it. They don't have permit power over "temp" storage containers. Also, since it AG zoned you don't need a permit to build a good fence with no trespass signs.
