As always! Your videos are extremely informative! This year will certainly be a lot of manufacturers' presenting fierce competition both in technology with pricing. I expected this! Too many to choose from! The models will keep on coming! I will wait till late in the year! Thank you for the video!
I been detecting 6months I've found 8 pieces of gold mostly rings and lots of silver some with diamonds. Yes I've dug tons of garbage..I just sold my simplex I am definately getting one of these as my next detector. Hope they release them soon I have nothing... This x terra I like because its good in depth and isn't noisy and is water proof AND under 300.. I'm not worried about a lot of the settings capabilities but its nice to know it has them.. Nice video's.
Get the X-Terra Pro and it's a Better Technology Detector for the Money 🤑 and it will be with you for along time before you think 🤔 that's it's time is up and move to another Detector and the X-Terra Pro will let you know when it's a JUNK Target And with the jumpy VDI and will not lock in on the target.....
Can't wait to see you put the new simplex ultra through its paces in the test garden. I think that's going to be one of the most anticipated tests that you're going to do for quite some time.
No matter if a machine beeps or not on a target by varying a negative number tone break a few steps, I’m still not gonna dig targets that produce negative ID’s…..looking forward to the Legend/900 tests, Mike! 👍🏼
When I'm hunting in extreme iron conditions with my Simplex which I usually am, on any blip or iffy signal I always rotate on the blip or iffy and the simplex always pulls the good target if there is one.. Sometimes I'm swinging at the right angle to start with and smack it right out..I understand you're doing a separation down the barrel nail test..I believe that the Xterra pro and Simplex would hit those targets and pull them out of the ground about the same as the higher priced one's or at least give you a hint that there might be something good hiding in the iron but it would just take a bit more work due to having to rotate..Even then if those other detectors aren't set right you'll be missing the goods that the Xterra Pro and Simplex are banging right out..90% of my hunting is in heavy iron and my Simplex has absolutely amazed me time and time again..
@@IffySignals I'm thinking not, I think i like the 12khz better..It hits that deep silver, brass, copper, etc. a bit better and deeper than 15khz but will also bang out a buried for years 18k gold ring like it did for me last week in a local park!
I'm very happy to of gotten the X-Terra Pro and I have put the Simplex + to rest and collect some dust and I really like the X-Terra Pro and it's changeability of the frequency and also the All Metal Mode that is a 1 Button Push to check out a Target Signal and on the Simplex it was a 5 button push and it took to long to get to it And I just Quit Using it but now that I have the X-Terra Pro it's handy to use and have the Ability to use it and keep Detecting in a few Swing's on the target....
I have recently purchased a Simplex, upgrading from a Bounty Hunter since I retired. I would prefer a machine costing $500 or less and easiest to use right out of the box. After looking at many UA-cam videos I am thinking maybe a 440 or 540 Vanquish from Minelab. I will not be hunting at the beach. I live in a small town in central Georgia, so no big treasure here. I am looking for a good hobby and finding relics. My hearing is not great and I like going by the VDI. The Simplex is a nice machine, but the tones are confusing. Now I am digging everything it detects. I did enjoy this video very much.
The only thing that is a totally bad idea is that you will need to get a supply of Batteries for the Vanquish and the X-Terra Pro is a rechargeable battery....
@@uk-en6rmI have just went to Notka Macro Website to see About an update for the Simplex + and it's Now on the discontinued section as of 2021 😮 and I'm very surprised 😯 for it to be there...... and what is the problem that They have already put it on the list of A Bad Detector but instead of the Simplex update and I'm glad to of gotten the X-Terra Pro Now....
Thanks for the update! Wonder how well the sepration would be with a smaller coil especially when your in a much more trashy area. One nail vs 4 nails?
Think you should show turning 90% Yes your tests are all down the barrel, if I’m hunting I always turn 90% to see if can get a good signal as some watching might think that they should walk on to next target, I know you know, turning 90 % can give the user alot more info weather to dig or leave 😎😎, love these tests as interesting 😀😀
I have done demos on why turning on targets is not good when relic hunting. I get that it will drastically help you reduce digging nails but you will definitely miss allot of targets. They add that in each detector manual to help avoid frustration but its not a good tool for hunting sites loaded with nails or trash.
@@IffySignals Fair enough on very trashy sites, i think it’s a very hard place to metal detect when a lot of non ferris good tones but crap 💩 once you dig them up, it’s ok if your getting alot of iron grunts and odd good tones, I prefer clean old pasture or beaches 😀😀
Did you do the same test for the nox 800 ? I am interested how the 800 compares to the xterra/900/manticore. Might be interesting for people who want to upgrade from the 800
Yes Thanks Mike! For these videos . Question ! For as long as you've had the x Terra pro do you find it worth purchasing for you personally.? I'm not sure if you purchased this one or not . , 😅..and does the over all structural integrity of the detector seem OK and similar to the new equinoxs. Thanks
Hey Danny, yes for $269 definitely. Buying the proprietary headphones kind of stinks because they will probably be around $100 but you can buy a low latency transmitter from Amazon and use low latency headphones and be good to go. Yes build quality is good as well similar to the new Noxs but using the Vanquish shaft.
Do you think that x-terra will struggle with old iron infested sites? Will higher discrimination help in that case, without missing good targets or is it better to leave it as you did on the test?
I think its better than the Simplex and Vanquish because of the additional features but the Vanquish runs full multi frequency which will be better on a wide range of targets.
I have a vanquish 540 and haven’t had the best luck in high iron environments. I’ve watched just about every vanquish video on the tube and have tried everyone’s suggestions regarding it. Do u think the X-terra will handle iron any better or do I need to move to the next level of detector (equinox/legend)?

And there can be no comparison of these detectors! The legend in absolutely all existing parameters is very much superior to this entry-level detector!
The Equinox 900 and Legend video is uploading now. I don’t think i have seen anyone say the XTERRA or Simplex would out box the Legend. Two different leagues. 👍
That was impressive and also brings out the fact that we need to learn our machines whatever brand they are.

Not sure, i have seen an 11” coil out separate a 6” its all where the ferrous/non ferrous fall when under the coil.
I have been using the 5X9 for my simplex. I wonder how that would do in this test ?
