What a great and under-viewed video of actual historical research and preservation of actual history.
I live in New England, but grew up in Northern NJ. My hometown had a history of iron working, mostly cannon ball production I guess. Cannonball Road from the mines, and Dante's Furnace by Pompton Falls were often mentioned in passing with short hand-waving explanations, but never thoroughly explained to kids.
I went to Ringwood Manor on a school field trip possibly around 6th grade in the late 1960s. I remember seeing the chain there. The fact that it's now known to not be links from the actual chain is disappointing, but doesn't taint the memory of learning the history of the chain while there.

Yesterday I saw the 13 links of the great chain at the bus tour of West Point. What a fascinating piece of little known history. Today I am back in Los Angeles and was planning on seeing more of the links at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Thanks Doc Brown for saving me the trip to see fake links. Great presentation.
