Honestly they should've just added the T-80UK as a researchable modification to the T-80U

To be fair, they have so little options that they might as well be tech tree vehicles. Would help so that it doesn't completely ruin top tier win rates for them as well, nations like Italy suffer enough already.
They already have, Russia was the last of the big three to have a squadron tank above 10.0. But now with this addition the trifecta is complete

The added APS is nothing compared to the added laser warning system
They added it AND took out the squadron vehicle banking so it forces people to buy GE that day. You buy GE day 1 giving them more money. The devs know what they are doing.
I have seen exactly TWO of these so far. At this point the community is making a problem out of nothing.

I mean we can all agree no one should just be able to buy their way straight to top tier but at the same time not a lot of people are going to spend money on the tank when they can get something like the Turms which isn’t stock and has premium bonuses.
@@DocLeQuack yea freedom players tend to just make them mess with the grind until it's unbearable, and they'll instead only be trying to appease the whales who could afford to toss hundreds to buy silver lions and convert rp. So for the sake of the game ppl really should just spend money on this game and incentivise them to make the grind alil less shit
The laser warning receiver is so underrated the amount of times I have been saved by deploying smoke before the fist round is sent my way 👌.. in the t90. I don't have this tank lol
You can use the HE shell without time fuze. Just lase it, wait for the ballistic correction to be set and then switch shells to and back. Then fire.
Only thing to do is to press 2 different numbers before firing, then it is a normal russian HE bomb and very good.
NATO roofs really love it.
The BMD3/4 with the 100mm HE is super underrated. Worth the try if you have it unlocked.
I must say, Gaijin knows there aren't that many soviet MBTs anymore. Maybe we'll see a T80UD in a few months
There are plenty. Could have used the T72B2 Rogatka as Squad vehicle or one of the other plenty T72 versions but they went for a pretty boring one.
There are a shit ton of possible addition of Russian MBT's alone, not only that you have a shit ton of prototypes and stuff like the Belarusian T-72 B3 with relikt, yugo M84'S

Relikt was first used back in 2006 and Americans modernised Abrams SEPv2 to v3 in 2017. More than 10 years in difference...

It wont, it adds ERA to the sides of the tank that is only meant to protect against shoulder launched RPGs, have poor coverage in a Tank Vs Tank engagement, and adds weight.

@@hex6970 Fr, At least from my knowledge SEP wont really make the abrams more competitive in warthunder it just improves thermals etc. Nato ERA isnt maid for kinetic rounds like Russian era so even if nato tanks got it, it wouldnt do anything
It should have been an optional sub tank to the T-80U. The T-80UD would be a good add to the game. Less mobility with a diesel engine but turret cheeks are even better and still have the Kontact-5
I see this as useful for thoose people who can't be bothered to grind out the is3 , is4 etc to get the the other t80s
T-80UK is quite a upgrade.
Shtoras IR jammers might be useless but the LWS is part of the system too and very helpful at toptier.
6 smoke drops instead of 4 did help too.
The time fuzed Ainet shell isn't needed but can be used like a regular russian 125 mm HE nuke.
I have a fully spaded russian top tier lineup and probably would use this instead of T-72B3M when I have researched it in a few months.
Using it only in CQB makes the grind less annoying.
Then I have 3 modern T-80s and thus no MBT with the lackluster 7.1 sec reload.
I would like to see them fix the Sprut SDM1s targeting speeds and the T-80UKs thermal generation (Agava-2 had double the identification range) or atleast lower the quality of T-80U and T-80B to a new category of 0.5 generation because it can't be compared to T-80UKs or Leo 2A4s thermals.
But anyway, winrates doesn't seem to drop.
Sadly, I really want to play GER and US toptier a bit.
But not with that matchmaking and teammates.

He talks about the programable HE being a gimmick that cant be used against anyone and that heli will be moving around too much for it to be ever useful then at 9:45 the exact use for that shell is just staring him in the face as he misses shots on it.
the most player friendly vehicle top tier vehicle in my opinion is probably the strv121. its a very easy grind tank

I really wish that the Shtora system wasn't just a dumb gimmick because if it actually worked as intended then this T-80U would have something special going on but its most useful feature is the laser warning system, that's it, you spend a shitload of money or a lot of time to grind just to have a T-80 with a lasern warning system. 🤣🤣 Someone actually suggested that this could be a researchable modification which let's be real sounds great but the snail wouldn't be able to monetize that so obviously they bring this out.
Its cool for people that just want to get into modern combat.

Top tier squadron vehicles make me cry
They hoped that with adding this they could lower the win rate of top tier Russia the same way that the Leo 2PL and M1 AIM did it for Germany and US.

Hope you’ve found out, but squadron vehicles are similar to tech tree vehicles, no SL or RP bonuses, and you need to grind it to stock, so nothing like premium, you’re just paying 7800 for a tech tree vehicle basically, best way is to just grind a tech tree in an active auto accept clan and you should get it after a while
I like it better the the t80u cause of the Laser warning system. And the soft kill might stop a missle once in a blue moon

I got the T-80, T-80B, T-80UM2, T-80K, T-80U, T-80BVM, I should add this.
imagine adding new vehicles that aren't needed to tech trees that already have plenty of vehicles and just ignoring like the other 4 nations that have far less vehicles.
Oh wait, don't need to imagine it. They just keep adding more fucking USSR and german vehicles.
Israel, Sweden, Italy, Japan, all of them have fairly large holes in their tech trees but gayjin would prefer to add another copy pasted USSR tank. At this point you could make a whole lineup of 5 of basically the same tanks, some of the literal best SPAA in the game, and literally the best ground strike aircraft in the game.

People say that this tank will make the russian top tier win rate drop by a lot, but i just dont see it. Same thing with the Abrams AIM, there wasnt much of a drop. I hope in the future some other minor nations could get some cool tanks. Right now china around 8.3 has better stuff than america lmao

The T-80UK is literally just a better T-80U. You would expect that there would at least be some draw backs considering their same BR (though I admit comparing BR ratings after 10.0 is sort of redundant), like at least the AIM and the Leo PL are sort of "unique". The T-80UK is just "oh here's the T-80U but better, because we need more Russian MBTs". The Snail is going to give me a seizure.
They added cause the grin of 7.0 to 9.0 is unbearable and people are literally giving up the game so they added that so you can skip that grind.
Turms is better for the grind tho. It faces dumbass xm1 players and has premium booster etc

Once again, all the UA-camrs saying the programmable he round is useless, except for the fact that it can still be used exactly like the normal Russian frag he rounds, just shoot at the roof of any MBT with it like you would with literally any other frag round and you'll kill it, I don't know why everyone keeps saying it's useless, maybe in the aa roll but for AT like all the other Soviet he rounds, its perfectly fine

@@thealmightyone6935 Exactly, I use the HE rounds all the time. It's good for hiding enemies, ones you can only see a slight part of the roof or maybe a cupola or machine gun. The programmable one literally functions the same as the non-programmable one, just shoot it at the roof or something thats extended on the roof and poof, that hulled down Abrams is dead, but now if a heli is just sitting still like the little stupid premium that they probably are, once again poof, they're dead
I hate that they added this. Now new players can jump into an upgraded T-80U while I had to grind for mine.

@@cortney3280 It is fun, but most new players with top tier vehicles fuck over their team because they are not attuned to the game yet. It doesn’t really matter with Russia because you can just hold W and win, just like 6.7 Germany.
