do you have to cap coloured acrylic in clear when doing an overlay? or can you skip that step
I always got acrylic because I wanted to protect my nails and then I seen this, looks so much better and cheaper

So if you can remember. as a beginner, was it harder to do acrylic overlay or regular acrylic nails? I don't really do nails anymore because it's so tedious (only did my own) but I still have all the equipment and would like to learn overlay.

Do you have to do a fill for overlay on natural nails? or do you have to soak them off and start all over?
You can do either one💖, i just let my clients pick whether they want a soak off or fill
Okay so,
I am trying to grow my nails. I want them to look really nice and natural. I don’t like square shape as it makes the tip of my fingers looks fat and wide. So can the nail technician file my nail into ‘coffin’ shape and use acrylic overlay to have that nice set ? Thanks x
I normally lay a clear acrylic down first then add the color acrylic so I don’t have to soak the acrylic off every time. You can file down to the clear color then add a new color.
What kind of drill do you have?
How do you make them not go into the side walls of the nails? Coz i can never get that part right and sometimes my cuticle area is too thin and then when i file, i kinda file it off 😂😂😂

Hey, the nail brush i use is linked in the description box. Score the edge of the nail file so that it doesn’t cut/dig into their skin and be as gentle as possible.

The powder is an acrylic powder you can purchase on Amazon. Overlay is the process of applying acrylic on The natural nail without a nail extension

I’ll try, I struggle with this problem myself. I don’t know whether its the monomer or the powder that causes bubbles but once i get the hang of it, i’ll do a video. Thank you💜
You have to burp the brush and make sure you're not messing with the acrylic too much when you're laying it.
Also, to avoid bubbles, the brush can't be too dry. Because I've made same mistake, not leaving too much liquid on the brush to prevent it from running too much. But then I was told its because I took off too much liquid from the brush. Also, I've noticed clear liquid that we use in our nail salon, it's less runny and sets a lot faster but not too fast where you can't drag it down etc. During winter, we warm up our liquid slightly, again, stops the acrylic from running and flushing the cuticles. I use purple liquid at home but after using clear liquid at work, I will be buying the clear one.

Does the overlay help to grow the natural nail in thinking about getting this instead of normal acrylics
Yes. My nails grew extremely long with even acrylic overlay lol it’s humanly impossible to grow long nails and never break them with no support. Unless u do literally nothing all your life 🤣
What happens if I skip the sanding? I have long natural nails. I just want acrylic ontop for protection. I'm aware the acrylic won't adhere as long, anything else???

Pls my only problem is, my overlay doesn't last long and it lifts up so quick even wen I use primer b4 starting. Pls what could be the cause, is it the way I place the acrylic by making it thick or what....?

I’m just removing the shine from the natural nail. This will not weaken it. If done aggressively or with a corse nail bit, it will weaken the nail

I did my sisters nails yesterday and not even an hour later that she had messaged me that one of her nails popped off and after she showered they all popped off. I don't know what I did wrong other than not filing her natural nail good enough
It could be due to the primer that you’re using, or because you might not be sealing the cuticles properly when filing around the cuticles
