    1:05:00 Darren is half right - what he's taking about is The City of London, which is a city within a city and separate from London itself. It is a financial district and is not a London borough. It has its own police force and legal system, and it is owned by The City of London Corporation. It's basically a quasi-state, older than the United Kingdom itself.

    As someone who’s spent a long time in prison in fact a lot longer than Darren I can appreciate exactly what he’s saying . The system doesn’t do anything towards rehabilitation and it’s very difficult to start again and to stay away from old friends who will be your downfall if you get involved again . As far as being anti social it’s not quite as simple as that as after spending years inside with all the noise and banging doors ect not to mention the vast majority of complete idiots who you are forced to live with you prefer your own company Shen you get out . It’s not being anti social it’s just liking some peace

    I’m an American but my first time locked up was 13 years old. I didn’t stop committing serious crimes until I was 28. I’m 37 now and I’ve been clean for about 10 years. I too learned to read and write in lockup. I can relate to a lot of this. Thanks for this. I also think that exposing kids that young to extreme violence and a cage mentality is extremely detrimental to their future. I don’t know how juvenile facilities are in the uk but here they get pretty grimey. I felt safer in the adult system but it also taught me how to defend myself and handle boredom so I guess it wasn’t all bad. Respect.

      He has done nothing..but he has made gullible people give him cash the message isn't even his it's an old metropolitan police campaign..any can repeat something over and over...then on another video talk about stabbing some cunts mum to death...but what ever should I even care...ive had a similar life to Darren I'm a Southerner yet I lived in Anfield. When I was 11 and if heard about the gee brothers bullied and cruel to animals as kids but I run away at 15 came bi to my roots..and in a strange twist I was in Winchester prison when Marvin was there...thats how I recognised him when first seen him on you tube..but I wasn't sure if it was in I said has he been to Winchester prison as if he did then yes I know him heroin dealer...and turns out it was him I thought he had funny eyes now I know why

    You need to keep practicing interviewing as you’re doing well but questions can take a long time to get out as your mannerisms are delaying questions with “right” “erm” “you get what I mean “ and things like that it’s a nervousness of asking questions maybe you were all a bit intimidated by Darren as at times he’s also questioning you guys and interrupting a lot but overall a good pod defo worth a follow - not meant in a toxic way just my honest opinion guys

    I done 4 years in 2000 with no TV jail was hectic without TVs. When I went back in 2008 for 2 years jail was so much easier as the TVs stopped the shouting out the windows which resulted directly to less fights. Thats why TVs were introduced

    • @craigphillips9383
      @craigphillips9383 3 роки тому +4

      Your highly restricted when released from jail. Most hostels your not allowed to work, the government pays between 800 and 1200 a week for you to stay in supported/monitored hostels where your supervised, if you work you have to cover these costs. I know cause I went through the system myself. Spent 15 years in and out of jail from age 15 in Ashfield young offenders, to a large number of adult jails, Cardiff, Swansea Parc, channing Wood, dartmoor, only, Walton, winson Green, I spent a lot of time in these hostels/bail houses, you have to be in at certain times, have to attend various courses and shit. Its designed to keep you trapped, surrounding you with other criminals as well as rife with drink and drugs, you living giro to giro, its shit. Luckily I met my misses last time, stuck it out, done lots of voluntary work with wildlife Trust and fell into college, got all my tree surgery tickets and started my own business. Managed to keep out of any trouble, I'm off licence and probation for the first time since I was in school over 20 years ago, nice house, little family of my own. It can be done, its hard, especially if you don't have family support. It can definitely be done.
