Polinini's performance of the Chopin's Etudes is Impeccable!! The tonal quality is so rich; the resonance and color are other worldly! A brilliant performance!!
Pochi giorni dopo questo concerto (fantastico: ogni volta che esce qualcosa del Pollini anni settanta c'è da saltare sulla seggiola) lo ascoltai per la prima volta dal vivo. A Prato, direi intorno al 20 ottobre (potrei forse controllare, c'è caso che abbia ancora il programma). Per farvi capire cosa avesse nelle mani: eseguì 109, 110, 111 e - tutti ancora lo ricordiamo con un brivido - l'Appassionata come bis! Non si riusciva a uscire dal Metastasio, nessuno voleva andare a casa, nessuno smetteva più di applaudire.

E pensare che ho conosciuto docenti di Conservatorio in Italia che Pollini non lo hanno mai stimato, anzi.....se un pianista italiano non vince piu' un importante Concorso Internazionale da 30-40 anni io due domande me le farei...buona musica a tutti ❤

Not a single note missed in the coda of the beautifully structured 2nd movement of the Schumann Fantasie! Applause well deserved !!!!
